Music For Moods - ShiraNoMai - May 11th, 2021

You just left an 11 hour shift of what was supposed to be a 6 hour shift job. You missed your favorite show that was supposed to be on when you got home at your normal time, and now, it's raining, and drivers all around you are driving at an infuriating pace. What music do you put on to get you through this?

I know some people like to put on relaxing and soothing tones to change their bad mood to good mood, but for me, I tend to steer heavy into the cathartic side of the bad mood and just put on the heaviest, angriest music I can blast in my ears to justify my anger, like Dir En Grey or SlipknotĀ ROFL

Of course, there are moods where I wanna be chill, so I'll put on something relaxing, like Jonghyun's "End Of A Day" or "1000".

Normally if I'm in a bad mood, I'll put on Slipknot. If my mood is really bad, it'll specifically be the Iowa album since it's very heavy, and features great humanity hating songs like "People = Shit" and "Everything Ends".

Gotta think what I listen to specifically for other moods. Tongue

I have a massive library of music, and I don't tend to put music on to fit my mood, but I know there are a bunch of songs that can make me cry on there. "Don't Bury Me...I'm Still Not Dead" by Riverboat Gamblers, "Kids in the Street" by All-American Rejects, "Broken Heart" by Motion City Soundtrack; those are the ones that immediately come to mind. They have different reasons (Don't Bury Me is about not giving up, Kids in the Street is nostalgic, and Broken Heart is about just trying to make it through it all), but I like it when they do make me cry; they remind me I still have something left to feel. If those songs can't make me shed a tear, that's when I'd seriously be worried for my mental health.

@Maniakkid25: I haven't listened to many songs that have made me cry or even feel super emotional. The only one I can recall that can get to me at all is "In Loving Memory" by Alter Bridge.
