I hope this is true, because as someone who owned the original Vita that had the OLED screen, nothing looks better. OLED screens are beautiful and I'd buy a new Switch model day 1 if it actually does have it. Games look gorgeous on them.

Yeah for once, these rumors seem to be bearing some fruit. We should expect to see them at least acknowledge it around E3/Summer time, perhaps with a release this fall or by end of this fiscal year (03/2022). They also look to be popping in a new graphics chip for ability to upscale to 4K with DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling, basically smart upscaling).

Nice selection of games you got there @Ladybyrd402 . More than what I have, only 9 XD and only one the same as you, MK8D. I do have CTR and Super Bomberman R but on PS4.

That would a good upgrade for the supposed new Switch model. That alone won't entice me to get one, I know there'll be more things to a new version, but I'll see if I'll change my mind later or not.

I've seen rumours for that along with a more powerful Switch. I expect an upgraded screen to become reality, but a more powerful system seems unlikely. Especially when the New 3DS didn't really make much of a stir or even had many games utilize its power even from Nintendo's side.
I can see them making the system more powerful. You can't just release a new one with a better screen and expect people to buy it. The New 3DS had other things about it that made it worth upgrading for (mainly the much better battery life). I don't see the point in making it so Switch games are in 4K, but I expect an upgrade in power to allow games to run at a stable 30 FPS (maybe even 60) while in handheld mode.

Maybe also improve the cooling so the system doesn't feel like it's going to melt while docked.
Yeah, better overall performance for loading and frame rate would make sense and I didn't consider that. It would also not really require any updates to the games like how a lot of games often run better if they can be played on a newer system due to backwards compatibility.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Octopath Traveler
Pokémon Shield
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Trials of Mana
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
God Eater 3 (digital)
Touhou Gensou Wanderer Reloaded

I believe that may be in order that I got them. I have a few demos that I have played or still have but won't include them.
I don't even know how many Switch games I own at this point... I should check.

Well, I own more than I expected. I was thinking like maybe six or seven, but I own a whole 16 of them.

-Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix
-Fire Emblem: Three Houses
-Octopath Traveler
-Bravely Default II
-Mary Skelter 2
-Moero Chronicle Hyper
-Moero Crystal H
-Collection of Mana
-Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
-Tokyo Mirage Sessions: #FE Encore
-Senran Kagura Reflexions
-Mercenaries Saga Chronicles
-Dragon Marked For Death
-Rune Factory 4 Special
-Dust: An Elysian Tail (just bought this for the nice limited edition it had)
-Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!

And I'm probably going to go ahead and order Monster Hunter Rise today, so that'll bring my total up to 17. That's like... 15 more Switch games than I expected to ever own.

That's cool. You have a game that I would also like to have and that is Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Have you ever played the Smash series before, Ladybyrd? I find the Switch version to be one of the best they've made. Smile

DL if I showed your past self from 2017 that you'd be getting a switch and owning at least 15 games, you'd laugh in my face ROFL
I'm still mad that just days after I finally broke down and bought a Switch for Octopath Traveler, that SE announced the Stream port of it. Octopath Traveler was the only reason I broke down and finally bought one.

Though in the end it didn't matter, because I would have gone out and bought one for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix regardless. I always said the #1 thing that could make me buy a Switch would be a Miku game on it. So either way, it was going to happen no matter what.

Also worked out because Mary Skelter 2 only released on the Switch in the west. As well as physical versions of Moe Chronicle and Moe Crystal.

I knew eventually the Switch would have enough games on it to make me want one. While my library for it will never reach the levels of my PS4, it's getting some really nice games to play on it. Bravely Default II and Monster Hunter Rise releasing this year have really boosted the Switch, and Project Triangle Strategy will greatly boost it for me next year. Although MonHun Rise will get a Stream version next year, and since it'll have the added fun of achievements on it over the Switch version, that'll lower the quality of the Switch version a bit for me.

Anyways, beginning to ramble a bit here. The Switch is still a third-string system for me, just something I play when I'm not playing my PS4/on Steam, but I've slowly been picking up games for it here and there. Although Dragon Marked For Death was the same situation as Octopath Traveler. I picked it up because it had a physical release on Switch, but then after that they released the game on PS4, so now I'll likely never play it on Switch and will pick it up on PS4 instead so I can have it with trophies.

Yes I have. I have the one for the 3DS that I played a long time ago.
