Perhaps the reason is because YouTube is no longer flash based and older 3DS systems can't cope with HTML 5? If it could run then I don't get what reason there is to remove it from only one type of 3DS systems; it isn't going to get anyone to change to a New 3DS.

Yea, I agree. Tbh, the youtube app on the original 3DS is kind of a trash fire since watching it on a tablet is more superior by comparison. I think the whole hub-bub about the youtube app going away is that when it happened with the Wii console soon after all of the other apps on it were closed down, followed by the Wii shop itself not soon after.. Which is why a lot of people feel that the 3DS's days are numbered.

A strange loss, but it makes sense, though queen's point has me thinking that it may be signalling an end of an era for that platform. I mean they're not even selling regular 3DS' anymore, only 2DS and 2DSXL.
