When I first saw it, the first thing that came ot my mind was after seeing the kid's dad was that this kid is the love child of Frank (who the father looks like) & Kate Marsh. Yea, let that sink in fellow LiS fans.

there is the whole issue where Katie is drugged in the original LiS story.
It might be a possibility. But the devs do say the characters are separate from the original title, but still.. Its hard not to try to connect them when the father looks like a character already established from prior.
Honestly, even thought the video is just two minutes long and doesn't really reveal much at all, I think I'm permanently put-off by it.
Like, no joke, I had to remind myself this was a video-game set in the LiS universe and not some cheesy Disney film desperate to make bank by pulling some heart strings.
I still think an awesome game can come out of it, I'm just not willing to be the guinea pig.
Uh, fellow LiS fans. Have you noticed with this game:
connections to Blackwell academy with the mom. Mark Jefferson's book the mom had.. And...... the fact that Chris seems to be abused. And.. the dad drinks A LOT LOT.
Also where the bleep is the friken mask(helmet)? I can't find the stupid thing anywhere!
@chloe: I can't seem to find where the [light] heavy armor is myself. Or figure out how to get into the locked door in the shed. It uses 4 numbers & I have no idea what they are. I found my way to the fort, not much up there tbh.
Really? How did you find that stuff out? I've just had Chris playing with his toys & playing outside. I hate I can't go explore the rest of the neighborhood, or up through the trees in the back yard. Wtf? XD
Yea, I noticed!! Also, the book authored by Mr. Jefferson made me feel like it came out of left field, until you find out that she went to Blackwell Academy too & she was toats into artsy stuff. Yea, this seems to be the second game besides "Beyond Human" that seems to go into the whole alcoholic father | child abuse.

I agree 100%, not being able to explore the rest of the town: i.e world is very frustrating.
I found (light armor) the armor in 'dad's room'. I'm hoping the heavy armor option can be found there as well. You'll need to go back to the fort if you skipped on getting the decoder for where the hidden treasure is. The decoder works on the map in Chris' bedroom. ;3 And: the number for the locker in the shed is: 2005. Its the year the father got a basketball championship trophy. You'd know that if you snooped around & read everything around the house. ;3

The mask chloe is looking for is in the bathroom, I found it myself without looking on gamefaq or anything. If you head oveer to where the bathtub is, there's a small linen closet the halloween makeup your looking for (for hsimask) is there.

Wait what? That is kind of odd the dad's pin # is what you said, but I'll try it. After I beat Chris' high score, all I have left to do is set up a beer can training range, destroy the snowman & figure out how to use the decoder on the map in the kid's room.
So I actually played through all of this last night. TIme for some spoiler discussions!
So as chloe mentioned one of the darker things that I noticed was the art magazine. Mainly because you realize that might of been a dead teenager on the cover it just... ewwww. Jefferson is fucked up.
During the game I wasn't sure if the mom ran away cause Chris' dad kept drinking or what, but after digging around and learning that she was killed in a hit and run. Finding all his letter to the police department and detectives. It paints a really sad picture. The dude obviously has some severe drinking issues and I have my guesses they really started after his wife's death. Sadly due to him drinking away his sorrow hes got a bit of a reputation around the town as a drunk and everyone is concerned about Chris.
It such a tragic thing like honestly I feel the dad is kinda scary too, but I honestly really do believe hes trying, but this man need some mental help and kinda need to get himself together for Chris' sake. I'm actually curious if in LiS 2 will we meet his little dancer and will they continue the story between Chris & his father. I'm honestly invested in this now.
From what I saw on LiS leaks apparently will be taking control of the two boys at the end of this...and I"m like..."I want to see more of this." I'm sure they might have an interesting story for them, but I want to know what happened to Chris' mom? Will his dad get help?
Just a random thought for the end do you think LiS parents as people thing will get a little bit old? Like for the past two games we just really get parents as people and people angsting about dead loved ones. Its interesting, but I do hope for LiS 2 they'll add something new in the mix and if they go for a third game...they'll maybe change the whole formula up a bit before it gets old.
I'm unsure about how Chris' mom went away, the way it comes off in game is she ran off. But that isn't the case. It's a bit confusing the way the story for her is worded, if you didn't catch on.
Also, not a lot of ppl deal with loss very well. Especially the death of a loved one. Some are helped by a friend & told to get help. Others delve into a bottle of a fifth of Jack.
Actually if you snoop around in the shed outside, if you read all the papers you find there you find out,
the mother was killed in a hit & run.
