I didn't watch TWT Finals live to see this, only later on yesterday. It's whatever really, nothing special other than waiting for the TGA stream this weekend. Apparently Tekken has two slots in TGA for something, one being the Winter character, not sure what the other is as a Tekken Talk might take too long and better to do another time, perhaps when they showcase the final character.
Anna looks more like she'll be in Season 2 rather than be the last character for Season 1, which is bound to be a guest character to get people outside Tekken hyped up, and more sense to reveal at TGA than Anna would be.

Ooh, good point about Anna possibly being the first S2 character rather than the last S1. Plus if it was her I'd want to know why she didn't get a part in the DLC story while everyone else in S1 did.
There's no way a Tekken Talk happens during TGA though; I think it would do more harm than good stopping an award show for a long talking segment because no one ever seems to like whenever that happens and rightfully so.

I of course didn't see this live as it happened while I was asleep overnight in my time, then watched it when I woke up and checked my YouTube. I had no clue who he was and thought "Who the f-Miguel?!" but he wouldn't be here like Anna either, then remembered reading someone in a YouTube comment listing who they thought might get in and they mentioned Clive. I still didn't know who a Clive was from that comment, so thought if I don't know that won't happen. Then again I'm not really up to date on things because I don't care about most other games. I did watch a FFXVI trailer but it never stayed on my radar and just completely forgot about Clive, if he was in there.
Anyway, he has a big long sword which does not really belong in Tekken, though it's always had Yoshimitsu and they've added more and more weapons now, just not move sets dependent on the weapon (barring Yoshi, Kuni, Negan, Noctis), so does that mean another guest like that will arrive in the future? Clive is at least a believable dude who can rock what he does though as seen in this trailer, some crazy over-the-top moves. Best thing about this reveal is the stage really, total destruction with a huge fight in the background happening at the same time.

Clive is the main character for FF16, but I don't think he's the best pick for a Final Fantasy character for Tekken just as I didn't think Noctis was. Tifa would be better just because she's a melee character who doesn't use weapons, but it's obvious that isn't ever happening. I won't be surprised to see yet another Final Fantasy character show up for Tekken 9 either given the IP has had a guest character for subsequent games.
I wonder if the second season pass is going to have a guest character too and if so if it'll be someone sensible or something stupid like Negan was that just tries to cash in on a current trending thing that makes no sense being near Tekken.

I was disappointed the guest wasn't Tifa, I had hopes for her, apparently people are saying the licensing will be too much to get her in, but surely that shouldn't matter because of how big of a name she would be, it would surely bring in a lot more people than Clive will or what Noctis did for T7. Heck I'd have bought the Season pack if it was her myself.
Eh...I still might it hasn't completely dropped that possibility, still haven't got Lidia when I was seriously considering it, and Heihachi would be worth it too. Ah well.I feel like a guest character each Season is basically a given now, likely to end on a guest last slot too. Season One was questionable, but with Street Fighter 6 and MK1 bringing in guests Tekken doesn't want to fall behind them. MK1 got Homelander and Omniman which are trending characters but they needed to be there really as they're brutal and in stories that involve the sort of thing MK1 has. I'm not following much else to know what could be trending that might end up being a possible candidate for Tekken like Negan was. Will they be from a fighting game, a random popular videogame, or popular show next, or heaven forbid a celebrity. I don't count Negan in that last category even if Jeffery Dean Morgan could be, but he was the actor playing Negan that they used for the visual source.

2B would be OK, but nothing much to me personally. Snake would be good to see, but again doubt I will be hyped up for it. For whatever reason, Kiryu from Yakuza is my no.1 pick...well perhaps no.2 instead because I don't know if I'd actually bother to play him. I don't actually know what guest character I would absolutely pay for, that would also be a fitting pick for Tekken.

Anna Williams will be available on March 31, 2025 for Early Access, whilst the official release will be April 3, 2025.
Furthermore, the end of the trailer shows the Season 2 roadmap:
- Summer | 1 stage, 1 fighter
- Autumn | 1 fighter
- Winter | 1 stage, 1 fighter

Didn't realise there was going to be an announcement/Tekken Talk today, or rather for other areas it was last night and in the middle of the night for me, so I missed it all live.
We knew of Anna obviously from the hint in the preview during the Season 1 Winter Update video. Her outfit is fine, hairstyle I'd need to get used to but definitely prefer her old style, or even T7's. She's using a bazooka/rocket launcher in her fighting style which is funny in the Tekken way, but fits her anyway as we've seen her use it before in openings/endings, and for her Rage Art in T7 I believe, so she's also using it again here. Anna was a character I used in Tag 2 and T7 so I'm happy she's back. Might be my reason to finally go back to T8 because I've been unable to bother with it, still haven't played Heihachi's story yet.
Oh yes and a bit of Tekken trivia I learnt/remembered, Nina and Anna are fans of Tom & Jerry, in her trailer Anna calls her bazooka "Lovely Tom", and calls Nina a "dirty rat".
Here's what I took away from skimming through the Tekken Talk
- There's going to be balance changes
- Gameplay updates like being able to crouch after the Heat Dash, chip damage being decreased, allowing players to buffer side step during an animation
- Ranked system getting re-evaluated (rank reset, point system, new ranks)
- Ghost vs Ghost feature, being able to have player ghosts play against others, also in a May 2.01 update a Ghost Showdown mode then June 2.02 update adds being able to instruct your ghost
- TWT 2025 starts May 9th at EVO Japan - likely held off so the tournaments can be played in Season 2 state as this is pretty late into the year
Also in there during their talk about the Season 2 Pass it was confirmed there's going to be a brand new Tekken character among them but not confirmed which one it'll be, (my speculation=) possibly will be one of the characters releasing with a stage, and as Winter will likely be a Guest character the new Tekken character could be Summer. Another Tekken Talk will happen at the end of March and they should have a build of what will be released with Anna so they'll be showcasing gameplay live instead of a pre made video, as during this current Tekken Talk there is some gameplay showing examples of the updates coming.

I didn't get to watch the trailer when I posted it since I was in class, but watching it now to comment on it:
- I like that Anna will just smack you with her rocket launcher rather than just using it to shoot projectiles, which is what I was expecting going into the trailer.
- Happy they kept her crotch stomp thing in, even if the trailer highlighted to me that it doesn't really line up how I always thought it did. XD
- The trailer flips way too fast through her alternate costumes to get any time to actually look at them properly without pausing, so I find that stupid. That aside, the only alternate I liked at all was #4.

Yeah her 4th outfit is her T7 one, so unfortunately her red dress, well there's been a few dresses anyway from T1-Tag 2, will become a shop item in the future.
I had to look it up and I believe it's in their Tag 1 bios judging from the image of Anna I saw next to the bio...no wait I've also found a Tekken 2 Nina bio with that as well. Anna is a fan of Jerry though, Nina is a fan of Tom unless it's changed now, because why would Anna call her bazooka Tom and not Jerry, if that is indeed what they're hinting at of their past. Perhaps Anna relates more to Tom instead, or maybe it's not about Tom & Jerry at all.
I'm torn between revealing all the DLC characters for the current Season Pass, one it beats out leakers minus changes that might happen to them in the meantime and gives people insight on whether they will want to pay for the full pass or just a character out of the bunch. On the other it loses out on the reveal hype if watched live, and gives a really long wait time until they release, at least with different reveal/releases you still have the next one to look forward to instead of being instantly disappointed with everything until next Season reveal. OK, not much of an argument really, but man if their choices turn out to be bad and there's backlash this early, though players want to know now anyway to avoid waiting then being disappointed later. Perhaps it's fine to see how this Season goes, Mortal Kombat did reveal all their DLC Season characters at once in a trailer as well already, but then again that game has next to no steam driving it at the moment.

Anna being Tom and Nina being Jerry lines up with their characters if you think about it.
Tom is always trying to stop Jerry, but rarely succeeds. Jerry is always getting up in Tom's shit and making their life hell, which Nina is always doing to Anna. Tom goes for more direct approaches to dealing with their problem (see: Anna usually just going for a rocket launcher in cutscenes from earlier games to deal with Nina) while Jerry usually does more sneaky stuff that makes Tom look bad (see: that one cutscene where Nina undoes Anna's bikini top at a pool).

Yeah I agree, Anna is more like Tom than Jerry and vice versa for Nina. There could be another interaction between them from Nina's side but I doubt she'll be hung up on such a thing and would probably just be cold when she defeats Anna.
Will likely be unable to watch the Tekken Talk live around 23rd/24th. I saw a post by Murray saying the poll they made to see how many want the DLC to be revealed all at once or in parts, was only for them to make a multiyear strategy rather than actually revealing all the names in a presentation. Perhaps they will do something like that in the future but wonder if it is as soon as the Tekken Talk in two weeks.
