Doesn't Elden Ring have that free upgrade like most current cross gen games do? You shouldn't need to double dip on it in that case.

I assume that was only available if you got the PS5 option so you get the downgrade for free? S'pose I'll go check....

You are right for the free upgrade but not if you get the physical copy, which I am getting. So yeah I'll have to double dip, ah well.

Cool, you have space for your PS5 already. Grin

You've misread it. You can't upgrade to the digital edition if you have the physical one, because you require the disc to verify you own the game. Physical copies can only be upgraded if you have a PS5 with a disc drive, so you only have to double dip if you buy the game physically on PS4 but get a Digital PS5.

Oh, alright then I misunderstood slightly. Thanks. XD

RE: PlayStation 5 - Moonface - Feb 26th, 2022

Welp, turns out it needed a signature yesterday and no one was home for it so now I have to wait until Monday to potentially get my PS5. Cry

RE: PlayStation 5 - Mr EliteL - Feb 27th, 2022

Nooo! At least it's gone back to er...is there a post office there or with the delivery people, not simply left alone for stealing and guarantees you should have it by then.

It's being delivered by UPS, and I presume for now they still have it since it can also be dropped off by them at CVS for pickup, but when I went there yesterday they hadn't received it yet. A delivery attempt is being made tomorrow but again, I have no idea what time and I have to hope it isn't while I'm not at home, because I don't know if I can get it from CVS since I'm not the one who ordered it and it might require ID for the signature. Errm

RE: PlayStation 5 - Mr EliteL - Feb 28th, 2022

Ah, nuts no tracker. It's Monday now, do you have it yet or no? D=

RE: PlayStation 5 - Moonface - Feb 28th, 2022

Yeah, I got it about two hours ago and finished transferring my save data over about half an hour ago. I like how easy it is to move everything over. Right now I'm just playing Astro's Playroom to get a feel for the controller and everything since it's basically a free tech demo that's incredibly good. I actually forgot the console comes with that game. LOL

Bro that Dual Sense is a no-joke controller. That shit's the real deal. How Sony could ever top that controller is beyond me.

RE: PlayStation 5 - Moonface - Mar 1st, 2022

Yeah, I don't even know what extra features they could even add to it. I always thought the PS4 controller was pretty perfect but this one blows it out of the water.

I thought of this while typing so I won't adjust my post but one thing they could do is maybe add the resistance the triggers have onto the thumb sticks. Imagine if when walking through thick mud or something that slows you down the sticks get harder to move.

Joking aside, I'm glad ya'll are finally getting to experience the absolute joy that is using the DualSense controller. I see people trying to say the Xbox controller is better and I'm just like... no, just no. DualSense controller is like holding heaven in your hands.

As for the adaptive analog sticks, could be an idea, but I think they'd have a hard time finding a way to construct the sticks in a way that they wouldn't wear out extremely fast from the added stress of having players have to push on them harder. Think there would be too high of a risk of drifting and after seeing what has happened with Nintendo and the Switch's drifting issue, I don't think Sony would be willing to take that risk. Not sure if they'd be willing to spend the extra cash to build the analog sticks on the DualSense with better quality parts either. I have seen people saying they've experienced drifting on their DualSense controllers already as well, though I haven't with any of mine yet, so I don't know what these people are doing to their controllers.

RE: PlayStation 5 - Moonface - Mar 2nd, 2022

Hmm, good point on the issue of stick wear and tear by adding resistance to it. It's a shame it can't be done in a non-degradable way since I really can't think of anything other than that that could be added as a feature to the controller.

I've been wondering if PS4 controllers work with the PS5 for PS4 games too. As nice as the PS5 controller is, it'd be nice to be able to use my PS4 controllers still in some capacity, especially when I only have a single PS5 controller and don't like having to waste the battery on PS4 games if I can avoid it.

RE: PlayStation 5 - Dragon Lord - Mar 2nd, 2022

I... don't actually know if you can do that.

But I know how you feel. I'm looking at my like 18 DualShock 4 controllers and I'm just like... sorry guys. Though it is one of the reasons why I didn't move my PS4 games to my PS5, haha. I'll still use my PS4 for them so that my herd of controllers still gets used. Of course I'm up to four DualSense controllers now too, so I may end up with 20 of those too. KEKW

RE: PlayStation 5 - Moonface - Mar 3rd, 2022

So it turns out you can use PS4 controllers with a PS5, but the only restriction is they can only be used with PS4 titles. Trying to play a PS5 game with one will throw up a warning about compatibility. So you could move all your stuff to your PS5 @Dragon Lord and continue to use your large collection of PS4 controllers. Tongue

RE: PlayStation 5 - Mr EliteL - Mar 6th, 2022

What cable does the DualSense need to connect to the PS5? Is it a USB like the PS4 controller with the same plug into the controller itself? Only just realised I could go get myself a DualSense and play with it on my laptop and experience it that way. Grin
