Grand Theft Auto VI | Delayed to November '26
Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed again, now launching on November 19, 2026. The game was originally announced with a 2025 release date, which was then changed to May 26, 2026 a few months ago.
Rockstar explained that the delay was to allow for more time to polish the game prior to release.

At this point, I'm waiting for Rockstar North to go full 3D Realms and say the release date for GTA6 is "when it's done". That would just be peak comedy.

I expect that Rockstar would probably prefer to not be giving out release dates, but that the shareholders want one because of how big GTA VI is going to be. When this game was first announced it had a 2025 release date which was never realistic and I bet it was slapped on to just make shareholders happy. Heck, it probably caused their stocks to shoot up despite being unrealistic and was chosen for that reason over a 2026 date. I know @ShiraNoMai has stock in Take Two so maybe she can actually see info about how their stock changed around the times different dates for this game have been announced?

It's been a talking point about the game for months, but Rockstar have finally revealed that the price for Grand Theft Auto VI will be $79.99 for the standard edition, and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Surprisingly, this marks only the second time a game has been sold for $79.99, with the first being Mario Kart World.
However, despite the price, physical editions of the game will not come with a disc. Instead, they will come with a download code for the game and be released a week earlier to give buyers time to pre-load the game on their chosen system. The standard edition of the game will also lock players out of multiple shops that are only accessible to Ultimate Edition buyers, who will also get access to multiple exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel, and gang hideouts.
So the price isn't higher than I expected it to be, but I don't like the practice being tried here of locking players out of in-game locations just for buying the standard edition. Cosmetic stuff is whatever, but I can't wait to see how it looks in-game to walk up to a shop and be blocked from entering it by a paywall.
As for the no-disc thing, I get it's to prevent the game leaking but I'd rather Rockstar just release the game digitally only first and then provide a proper physical edition later. They may as well since buying a physical copy is utterly worthless.

Ya, not a fan of no discs. Also not a fan of $80 that Nintendo started, but I can deal if it's a game I really want.
That said I haven't been big on GTA since San Andreas. IV and V had improvements but the gameplay got old for me.
