RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - Maniakkid25 - Sep 29th, 2021 Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2 I want to see if, without the knowledge of it being an indelible part of my childhood, if the game's biggest moments would still make me feel the way they do to this day. Thr fact that I don't know if the answer is "Yes" terrifies me... Is the reason just because you view things differently now than you did then and so would process those moments very differently, or is it something else? RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - Maniakkid25 - Sep 29th, 2021 Yes; I'm a very different person than when I was even 5 years ago, let alone 15. On top of this, it could be that the rose-colored glasses have warped my perception to the point that I can't fully separate those feelings with the memory of having seen them. The fact is, I don't know how I'd react to those moments anymore. I cry now, but I've had time to examine the story in very deep detail; I know WHY they work. What concerns me is that I don't know IF they work... RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - Moonface - Sep 30th, 2021 Are the moments generally viewed by most players as causing the feelings you get from them? If so then wouldn't that mean that even if you were blind to the game now you'd get similar feelings? RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - Maniakkid25 - Sep 30th, 2021 No, I've never found those kinds of comments or agreements, but I haven't really looked either. Even so, the moments that get me in tears are unique, because its not in sadness that the tears come out, but the exact opposite. A moment has happened that makes me OVERJOYED at the character's resolve, rather than seeing them broken, and then the tears flow. I want to give an example, but I actually don't want to spoil these moments, because I know people get annoyed by that. I always recommened the game, and if you have a PS4 it's easier than ever to play it. Otherwise, grab an emulator, download a ROM, and play it. It's a long game (my playthroughs are usually over 100 hours, but I'm doing things like grinding for medals and stuff), but it's such a good game! Edit: And trying to look into it is difficult, because it's a cult classic rather than a huge hit, so there aren't many comments on the youtube videos I can find, but on the most important one I did, nearly all of them said that it made them cry, too. So, that does make me feel a little better. RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - Nightingale - Oct 6th, 2021 I *really* wanted to play Dark Chronicle (my PS3 has a working PS2 emulator inside) but since I don't have a PC, all my downloads are handled on Android... and the fucking thing blacksout when files are 4GBs or longer, which is this game's size. It annoys the crap outta me. RE: What's A Game You Wish You Could Play Blind Again? - WR91 - Jul 14th, 2022 The Last of Us II hands down. It's an amazing game that makes me feel all sorts of ways that no other game has. Oh and The Walking Dead: Season One by Telltale Games. That game's amazing as well. |
