If the price of a Portal is still higher at Gamestop than other outlets, my first thought was maybe it's because they don't have other areas to offset the cost onto unlike Wal-Mart, Target and Best Buy which could make up the money from a wide variety of other products, similar to how they have other loss leaders designed to get people in the door with the hope/intent they'll buy other items that have a positive profit margin. Those outlets might also just want to try and get through the stock quicker because they have more of it or want to have the space for other stuff, similar to how Costco recently had Kirby Air Riders and Pokémon Legends Z-A on sale for $30 because they wanted to clear the inventory, despite it probably costing them more than that to buy the stock in the first place.
