Well, I got my results from some blood tests I did a couple of weeks ago - and, they're mostly normal, except that I apparently have a severe Vitamin D deficiency. So, I'm being given some supplements that should help with that.

Also, I'm going to see if I can go for walks more often. Should get me more Vitamin D, as well as helping me to get into better shape physically Smile !
Silly, everyone knows England has no sun. Just constant rain and cloudy skies. Tongue

Work has been...strange lately. Well silly in that our store changed depot and they get sending things incorrectly which are making counts go constantly haywire. Counts are always wrong but we didn't have to keep changing them as much as we've had to these past few weeks. Plus over stock has been low, leaving the shopfloor to go off sale faster that usual. Ah well. The new depot has been suffering the consequences though for it, getting charged for stock we and other stores aren't getting.
Come to my job, where my frozen trucks will always be missing stock and having extra we didn't order. Just yesterday we were shorted 50 cases of Häagen-Dazs product. ROFL

I had another therapy session today, which is my second bringing @ShiraNoMai along for it so as to get another opinion on how I cope with things that only an onlooker would possibly notice. It went well, although I feel like there's a lot of work ahead of me that I didn't know existed prior to these most recent sessions. Sweat

Right now my day is ending with looking for where my grandad lives on Google Maps with no idea of where he actually lives beyond a very, very broad area. I could just ask my parents tomorrow where he lives but I'm adamant on finding it! Doh

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - ShiraNoMai - Aug 9th, 2024

The irony in it being exactly where we started when I initially asked the question. ROFL (And also the naming of the location being quite similar to somewhere near here as well LOL )

I've been slowly adapting to my new routine, adding one new thing to it at a time. It's been working out so far in that regard so the days have been going by pretty smoothly.

Today I took on one of the looming tasks of tidying up the new office space upstairs so we can build the new furniture piece we got a month ago (and, subsequently, haven't been able to). I'm watching an ADHD cleaning video (cleaning for people that have ADHD) as I watch this, and it's occurring to me that struggling with like-symptoms, in addition to living with someone that also has it, projects like these take time and mental capacity. I mean I knew this, but like, seeing it in other houses and environments and having it explained as such, plus seeing how the cleaning folk do these tasks in a way that's not detrimental to the way Moony and I think.

Went bowling Wednesday, no special occasion, we just wanted to. I didn't do as good as I wanted but it was the first time I've had a consistent final score each game which was 94, 95, 93. I screwed up some bowls that could've gotten each one above 100 which I was bummed about but I had at least that to take away in that each score was close instead something crap like 53, 89, 68. I went bowling in July twice which I didn't mention where I did 15 games (9 one day, 6 another) and those were up and down but within them I got 106, 113, 121 and 148 that last one being my best score so far. I was really feeling it that game, however the game right after that one I got an abysmal 72. XD Definitely going in the right direction after knowing I can get a 148, just got to get to that level again and hope to get a bunch of scores consistently closer.  =3

Work has been the same as ever though, yadda yadda.

Had a pretty terrible week. Hoping to wipe the slate clean and have a better week this next week.

Aww. I hope you have a better week DL and I'm sorry for whatever bad stuff went on this last week. Sad

My day has been... not ideal. Had a headache all day that I still have and can't shake off, then went to get dinner from Culver's and they got the entire order wrong so had to dick around with that to get a refund but now it's too late for me to eat anything else and I'm also just too pissed off from the trouble I had to go through with them to get the refund in the first place. Hmph

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Aug 31st, 2024

Well, I was supposed to be off work this week - but, I agreed to move my week's vacation to next week instead, after something urgent came up that only I had the skills/experience to assist with.

Fortunately, that's done now - and, I'm on holiday Smile . And to be honest, I was happy to agree to move it, because it suits me better: my sister is home at the start of the week, and my girlfriend is here at the end of the week. (My sister's birthday is actually on Sunday, so we'll probably go out to eat somewhere Smile !)

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Aug 31st, 2024

Been ridiculously busy the last couple days at work, probably because of schools starting back soon and people just getting their shopping out the way I guess. Kept staying longer than my normal shift but whatever, more money. Got more overtime coming up as well as both my other colleagues have a week off each so me and the seasonal are filling in where we can.

Not much else has been going on, oh wait, my step-granddad hasn't been doing well and is moving to a hospital soon as he's been bed-ridden for a while and can't even barely do anything. In his 90's so I'm not shocked or worried.

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Sep 1st, 2024

Well, today was my sister's birthday. And she really liked the sweets I got her (Lakrids by Bülow - a Danish confectionery, which is essentially chocolate-coated liquorice). The ones I got her are chocolate orange flavour - and she loves them Smile !

Unfortunately, she wasn't feeling too well today, so we didn't go out to eat. However, we did get a takeaway from my local south Indian restaurant - which was the next-best thing. And, as always, the food was lovely!

It's always nice when changing shifts around unexpectedly works out better. ^_^
Moving vacations around reminds me of when I used to work at Asda and at the end of every fiscal year (which began in April) everyone who had barely used any of their time off (which was basically 3/4 of grocery) would get told they have to book time off because if too many people weren't using their holiday/vacation the store would get in trouble. I would never really care about when I'd book my unused time off so would tell managers to just pick whatever they want for me to have off, and then without fail right before I was set to be off that same manager would ask if I can move my vacation because the time I've been given off doesn't work out. In most cases I just didn't agree because I wasn't picking the time I had off, the manager was, so it's your fault for choosing a time that's inconvenient for you. Rolleyes

I'm hoping I'm not coming down with something because I've been feeling some physical symptoms resembling that of a cold (sore throat, nose irritation) for a couple of days but today it feels worse (not terrible, more like going from a 3/10 to a 5/10). I also have a homework assignment to work on today which I'm hoping doesn't take up my entire day but if it does so be it. I might skip the one class I have today just to give myself extra time to spare, plus if I am coming down with something I don't want to possibly give it to others in my class.
My week as a whole has been rough though, but that's due to just all my classes putting out assignments at the same time with the same due dates so I'm having to juggle them all which I'm not used to doing. Normally my classes would give homework at different times (just by chance, because they don't operate with other classes in mind) so I could tackle things as each came in one at a time but I can't do that right now and it sucks. Nooo

Yeah, I hope you're not coming down with something too Sad .

Sadly, my sister did: she had tonsillitis. And as a result, she had to cancel her lunch with myself and a friend on Monday. We then re-arranged that to dinner yesterday evening (by which point she was feeling a little better) - but, even that didn't go to plan! Our first choice of restaurant (a Japanese place) was closed for the summer holidays - and our second choice was only serving food until 7pm. My sister and I got there at 6:15pm (so we got our food just fine) - but, my friend was running over 30 minutes late, and didn't get there until 6:50pm. He tried to place his order... only to be told that last orders were at 6:45pm >_< !

That was really irritating, to say the least. I do wish they'd made that clear on the menu...

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Moonface - Sep 17th, 2024

@Kyng: Fortunately I didn't come down with anything. ^_^

Ugh, my day today has been everything but what I had planned for. I was expecting to have my homework done before noon; it is now 9pm and I am still doing it...
There's so much stuff I wanted to do today besides homework that I am not going to get to do at all and I have homework to do tomorrow too so I doubt tomorrow will go better for me. Meh

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Sep 21st, 2024

Glad to hear it Smile !

Yesterday was awfully frustrating. I've been working on a project at work, to update the look and feel of our application - but none of the changes I made worked out. Things were either showing up in the wrong places, or not showing up at all - for reasons I couldn't comprehend.

Fortunately, I figured it all out today - and had one of my most productive working days ever!

So my week didn't really manage to improve following this. I ended up getting no sleep on the night I made this quoted post, so I ended up being awake for something like 30+ hours during which I had to work and go to class, and I ended up getting a headache because of it for that day.
The following day (Wednesday) I woke with a bad migraine so had to skip classes the entire day, and I've not managed to have a day without a headache this entire week including today. It's made it very hard to get anything done, especially when a lot of it involves having to look at a screen which my headaches do not appreciate. Meh

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Sep 25th, 2024

Yikes, hope you had a better past couple days since then, Moony. Ugh hated those days where a project took longer than I planned and way into the night. I just gave up eventually and took at least an hour or two of sleep because I was far too tired to continue, despite it obviously not being enough, getting up completely groggy, only to attempt some shoddy attempt at another hour of the project before going in to college/uni for the hand-in.

Had a couple good days away from work, laptop and gaming, just relaxing with some bowling. Got my second highest score of recent times of 131, though the game after I did terribly immediately though saved the score of being completely abysmal after 6 turns (14) and got 56 in the end. Still disappointed in that but ehh, just got to remember the performance of 131 (I would like far more, I just suck at spares).

RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - ShiraNoMai - Sep 26th, 2024

That sounds chill, EL. Glad you enjoyed your time, and a near new PB in bowling is awesome!

I sometimes feel like my life is a management simulator. Can't believe it's the end of September already. Happy with a lot of my "management sim" progress, even if it can be slow-going sometimes. Hoping I can fast-track a few things soon enough, without the whole simulation falling apart ofc
