RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Aug 30th, 2024 Can You Feel My Heart -- Bring Me the Horizon This is sort of a crossover with Current/Last Thing You Watched, because I watched/listened to a Drumeo video where they had Chad Smith, the long-time drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, listen to a drumless version of the track to see what he'd do with it. The drumline he comes out with is VERY different from how the track goes, but still fits really well. But my favorite part of the video is you can visibly see the point that he is going to enter, and then the cut-up vocal line hits, and he's so stumbled by it that he loses his place, and has to get re-established. Only to get a couple bars further and enter like nothing happened. It's really interesting! I forgot all about them after that one though so I've never watched another. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Sep 8th, 2024 Eyes Wired Shut - Edgewater One of the few songs I discovered during early 2000's WWE that didn't age poorly for me. I also had Monster Mash stuck in my head this morning at 5am and now I wish it was Halloween already. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Galra Keith - Sep 10th, 2024 I heard this song from the store today RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Sep 25th, 2024 *plays the song with a looming fear it gets played on his store radio* *fears are confirmed within 30 seconds* For some reason I've been really struggling to want to listen to practically anything in my Spotify library today and yesterday. I was skipping so many songs I just gave up in the end and looked for an album to play instead. Ended up going with If Only You Were Lonely by Hawthorne Heights and Thirteenth Step by A Perfect Circle. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - ShiraNoMai - Sep 26th, 2024 Yeah I've been shifting to full album listens or the Spotify artist playlists (the "This Is" ones) cuz I too feel picky lately. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Mr EliteL - Sep 26th, 2024 I'm so glad anything I listen even some more popular songs from the past, don't have a chance to appear in my store radio anymore. They seem to be more inclined to repeat a playlist on random of some utter rubbish songs that I have to hear every day. It didn't used to be so bad but more of a variety, there was still plenty of songs I hated but most I could zone out of to not hear, or get one odd song I genuinely liked. Heard a new song today on the store radio, which sounded like it's chorus was just "Again anda Againandaagainandagain", but that's all I got from it and just...AAGGH! So what I did actually last listen to: Infinited & Divine - Silver Lining (album), ah save my poor ears from that utter crud. But when I don't want something super heavy it'll make every other song exactly that. Been listening to a few Linkin Park albums between yesterday and today. Started with Live in Texas, then did Live in Milton Keynes and now I'm listening through the Re-Animation album. It's been a very long time since I listened to it and I forgot how much I love so many of the remixes on this album! RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Oct 15th, 2024 I forgot to post this yesterday but i had an urge to just listen to an album again rather than my shuffle so I decided to pick A Perfect Circle's eMOTIVe album because I couldn't remember anything about it, and I disliked it so much I had to resist the urge to use my phone while driving to change to anything else. When I eventually got to a red light to use my phone safely, I decided I'd put on their Mer De Noms album hoping it would have a sound closer to the Thirteenth Step album, and although it did it still wasn't really catching enough of the same vibe for me to bother continue playing it when I got back in my car. I thought it was interesting to notice that I really like one of their albums, yet don't like any songs from their other albums, and that I don't think I have any other band on my Spotify where I only like the stuff from a singular album. Anyone else here have bands where they only like the songs from one album and none of the rest or is this just me? RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - ShiraNoMai - Oct 16th, 2024 Naw I got plenty of artists like that. All-American Rejects comes to mind: Move Along is the only one of theirs I enjoy. There's a choice song or two from their first album I'm down with but nothing hits like their sophomore album, and after that it just completely changed sound. Childish Gambino, Because The Internet; I do believe that was his first album cuz he only released EPs before. His future albums focused heavily on artistic R&B style, which is nice, but not what I was looking for out of him as a musician. Florence and the Machine was an interesting one for me because, technically, I only liked her live voice performances and disliked any of her studio album stuff. I eventually grew accustomed to her sound and started to like it for what it is, but I will always think her live voice is impossible to capture in studio, apparently. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Oct 16th, 2024 The only band I can inmediately think of that comes to mind is Worshipper. Their first album, Shadow Hymns, has a really cool Black Sabbath-esque sound, but when I tried to listen to their second album, it felt like they largely abandoned that sound, and I wasn't really as interested in it. Pneuma -- Tool A twelve-minute epic of a song, it's got all the Tool hallmarks in it. Constant time signature changes, weirdly syncopated rhythms, Maynard's cryptic-sounding vocal delivery. Brilliant track. I'm curious. Played these albums on Friday during my drives to/from school:
RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Oct 21st, 2024 I'll be honest, I have not. I usually listen to songs over albums, but I hear the album is really good. I'll sit down and listen to it when I get a chance. With the past couple days, I haven't had a chance to. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Oct 27th, 2024 (Oct 21st, 2024, 10:10 AM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:Ah. For me I don't find it an album I would ever go back to because every song being 10+ minutes starts to become a slog for me but from an experimental sound perspective it does some interesting stuff at least. Moral Panic (Album) - Nothing But Thieves RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Kyng - Nov 10th, 2024 Maybe I should play that game again soon . |
