I'm going to say nay for now, since I never finished the first Dead Space, and never even attempted Dead Space 2. I would like to play all 3 eventually, or at least the remake then 2 and 3...

Huh, I never knew you hadn't played those games. I always thought you had, unless I just at some point confused it with Dead Rising due to the same first word in their titles. XD
I will warn you DS3 is significantly different to the first two though. Think of it like going from RE4 to RE5, assuming you've played or know enough about those two games to know the noticeable shift between them.
