RE: LEGO - Karo - May 14th, 2021 If anyone interested in the history of LEGO check out Netflix's series The Toy That Made Us it talk about the past before the lego brick its successes and failure and I found it neat. RE: LEGO - Mr EliteL - May 17th, 2021 I am ashamed I never knew someone made an actual life sized house out of LEGO, or saw that clip before either. In fact, I might get another month of Netflix fairly soon so that I can see it . Thanks for the recommendation! RE: LEGO - Moonface - May 24th, 2021 I always forget the Lego Ideas website exists, and I'm happy I was reminded about it just now because I came across this really cool Naruto idea: Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop - 20th Anniversary I also forgot I wanted to share this video a couple of weeks ago: It's animated via computer, so it isn't made with real Lego, but I still thought it was pretty cool! RE: LEGO - ShiraNoMai - May 25th, 2021 Oh wow that Naruto Idea set is SO cool So very intricate and detailed, and the characters are so cute! Very inspired and well thought out. RE: LEGO - Mr EliteL - May 25th, 2021 I thought the Ichiraku Ramen Shop was just going to be the front where the customers sit and Ayame/Teuchi serve with Naruto and maybe someone else, but it's the whole shop with their living area, outside, more characters plus a freaking stall too for the idea! I kinda want it. The Crash LEGO parody's good. Like how they made the enemy crumble into pieces when Crash attacked it. RE: LEGO - Moonface - Aug 22nd, 2021 I just saw this posted onto the Lego Twitter and this is sick! RE: LEGO - Kyng - Aug 22nd, 2021 Wow, that's very impressive :O ! I always liked to build Hogwarts-style castles, but they were nowhere near as good as that. (I think one of them had moving staircases, but they weren't motorised or anything, and they kept falling apart ) RE: LEGO - Mr EliteL - Aug 24th, 2021 Dang that's amazing. Was there that much portraits and such on the walls though, because everything is filled with so much to look at and it's only half or so of the area to get a good look in. If so, that's insane detail. RE: LEGO - ShiraNoMai - Aug 25th, 2021 I thought the portraits fucking moved when I watched the video originally but Moony pointed out that they're just transparent/reflective so it appears like there's things moving but it's just the reflection from the camera moving causing it. I think I prefer it over the NES set, in fact . I will admit, I cringed a bit at the mentions of 'Jack Stone' and 'Galidor' - but that wasn't the fault of the programme (it was Lego's fault for doing such cringeworthy things ). Fortunately, they seem to have found their way again since then! RE: LEGO - Moonface - Dec 2nd, 2021 @Kyng: Have you ever seen this channel on YouTube? - https://www.youtube.com/c/BrickExperimentChannel/videos I don't know how but that channel popped into my front page feed just now, and specifically fed me this video: It's a little painful seeing what the Lego is going through (the parts where you see the beam carving into the Lego that's holding it in place made me wince) but it's impressive how much strength the stuff can have. They have another where they break a steel axle too, but if no one here is into seeing things break apart the channel has lots of other cool experiments they did using just Lego. |
