RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - ShiraNoMai - Nov 12th, 2024 Yoooo the FTL soundtrack slaps so hard, hell yeah. Between this and Noita, just absolute bangers Damn now I wanna listen to that one... RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Mr EliteL - Nov 13th, 2024 LEAH - The Glory and the Fallen + multiple different songs of hers that I have, then a playlist I created with my favourite songs. I didn't realise there was a new album out earlier this year and bought it immediately a while ago, and they're still brilliant. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Nov 18th, 2024 Started out my day trying out the Lead Sails Paper Anchor album by Atreyu, which I chose due to a funny long running story. So something like 15-ish years ago, there was an ad on TV once to win tickets to an Atreyu concert and naturally it had bits and pieces of various tracks by them playing, but there was one song used at the very end of the ad that always stuck with me but I could never find what song it was from (the part used had no lyrics, so yeah...). Last night I was bored in bed though and for whatever reason felt compelled to see if I could find the song again, and managed to discover it's just the first song on this particular album. ![]() Alas, that was where the payoff pretty much ended for me because I didn't really care for the album at all. Atreyu is probably destined to be one of those bands that are a one-hit wonder for my library with Right Side of the Bed. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - ShiraNoMai - Nov 22nd, 2024 2002 - davvn feat. Bowling for Soup [Spotify | YouTube] Yes, this is a remake of the original "1985" (which, in itself, was also a cover) and it's actually done quite well, I think. I came across this when comparing Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire" with Fall Out Boy's version in that they speak of eras bygone. While I don't think Fall Out Boy quite matched in execution (though, critics and Joel alike hate the song, too), I actually think this girl nails this cover front to back with apt comparisons to the originals' 80's references with nostalgia from the early 2000's (amusingly, the original song released in 2004). I'd like to think that the perspective of the song is written from one of the original's songs "two kids, in high school"
RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Nov 24th, 2024 Huh, I never knew 1985 was covered by BFS; I always thought it was just their song to begin with. Now I want more variants that pick a particular year from each decade. Like one about 2012 maybe covering all the crazy end of the world conspiracies that were big that year, or a 2022 one for all the crazy changes that happened to the world following COVID-19.
RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Nov 25th, 2024 real Emotion -- Jade Valerie (ignore the Sweetbox attribution; it makes no sense in context) Well, at least I have a legal outlet to listen to this song to, and don't have to just pirate it on Youtube, because this is another song not on Spotify. Yes, the opening theme to Final Fantasy X-2, it really sets the tone that this is a very different game from FFX, and I love it! Unfortunately, the only version available on Spotify is the Koda Kumi version, which is still really good, and she has an English version, but its VASTLY different from the translation used in FFX-2! Also, I just have an issue with the Koda Kumi version. Maybe it's because I heard the Jade version first, but that drop to F Kumi does at the end of the chorus just feels so stilted and off-putting. If I didn't have the official sheet music right in front of me, I'd say there's no way it was written like that, but yes it was! Oh yeah, the official sheet music is on the Final Fantasy Wiki, complete with chords! ...The chords are wrong, but it's the official sheet music (that opening chord is implying a Bm7, not a Bm, for one), so I can't really argue against it. Anyway, release the song on Spotify, cowards! RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Abyss_Mage - Dec 8th, 2024 One man blackened death metal HAIDUK RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Dec 10th, 2024 Jak X Soundtrack - Billy Howerdel Finally got this back on my phone again after meaning to download it before the weekend and I kept forgetting to do it. It's one of the few game OST's I like listening to in full while driving.
RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Dec 11th, 2024 Stellar Alchemist -- Kim Boekbinder Ah, the random things I find on Youtube. At least this song is on Spotify. This is a pretty neat synth track that is basically a personifaction of a star, hence the name. The lyrics aren't very subtle about it. I think it's a pretty cool song, and I'm glad to have stumbled on its music video one day and remembered it. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Dec 16th, 2024 (Dec 11th, 2024, 12:22 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:I looked up the song out of curiosity if it was about any particular star but couldn't find anything. I did discover that the artist has a band camp page though and you can buy their music for whatever price you wish to name, not that you need to do that since it's on Spotify anyway.
RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Maniakkid25 - Dec 19th, 2024 The Customer is Always F***in' Wrong -- Almost Vinyl I'm dying from laughing so hard. Oh my god, this is so perfect in so many ways. RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Moonface - Dec 20th, 2024 House Robot Theme - Robot Wars No idea why but the Robot Wars OST got into my head a few moments ago so I had to start listening to it. Dang the Extreme Series had an absolute banging OST. ![]() @Maniakkid25: Oh that's a good one. Curiously I find that any of the AI songs that are portraying a black artist always turn out to be some of the best I come across.

RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Little Matcha Girl - Feb 10th, 2025 The latest Petal Palmer video on a medical case! I really love listening to her videos while I do things, it's quite interesting (though always very sad). She deserves more subs ~ RE: Current/Last Thing You Listened To? - Kyng - Feb 11th, 2025 (Dec 20th, 2024, 08:50 PM)Moonface Wrote: Yep, that's one of the things I loved about Robot Wars. Of course, the main attraction was the battles themselves - but the production values really made it something special !Though, the last thing I listened to was The Cars - Drive. |
