Man I keep forgetting about Tunic. I need to just go buy a copy of the dang game to use it as a reminder it exists so I actually play it. XD

I've been watching a bit of gameplay from Remnant 2 since it released and I'm wondering whether it's something I'd like overall or not. It seems to be a Souls-like but with guns and random map generation which sounds really cool; I'm just still on the fence about it. Hmm

RE: General Game Chat - Dragon Lord - Aug 1st, 2023

It's definitely the type of game you want a friend to play it with. It pretty much is Dark Souls with guns, but it just doesn't look very fun to play by yourself. I really wanted to get into the first game, but couldn't find anyone to play it with me, which was really sad.

If you're ever interested in trying it out and would like to play it with someone, hit me up. Would love to either play this one or even the first game still.

RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Aug 2nd, 2023

I had never heard of the first game, and didn't really pay much attention to the sequel until a streamer I watched did a sponsored segment for it and loved it enough they continued to play it to completion. I'm certainly curious and I'm leaning to getting it at some point maybe, especially since it's only asking for $50 which I was surprised to just see. Assuming I get it and we both got a PS5 copy (I don't trust my laptop to run the game lol) I wonder if @Mr EliteL or anyone else here with a PS5 would be interested to play. Shame it doesn't have crossplay so platform choice wouldn't matter but ah well.

WipEout is Now Playable In-Browser
Just discovered that WipEout has been made playable in-browser for free at this link: https://phoboslab.org/wipegame/
I discovered this website a long time ago back when it was only able to let you freely view the tracks in the games, but now they've managed to get the first game working entirely too! I gave it a little go and although it takes a little to get used to the controls it's really good! You can read more about the whole endeavour here too: https://phoboslab.org/log/2023/08/rewriting-wipeout

Wow, so anyone else remember when that one guy managed to get on the stage at The Game Awards when FromSoft went up for their award for Elden Ring? Looks like security at any stage event Geoff Keighley is hosting is trying to set a precedent of being utter shit because a random dude just walked onto the stage during Gamescom ONL's pre-show that's currently airing:

Apparently he started saying something about GTA 6 before he was removed. I don't know if he snuck on with someone like that other guy did but I'm under the impression he didn't since he's standing right there with Keighley.

Oh, looking at comments to try and figure out more, it was a group who rushed the stage and not just a single person like the above image implies. Geoff really needs to get security for his shows on point before someone does this and actually attempts to harm somebody. Errm

RE: General Game Chat - Mr EliteL - Aug 23rd, 2023

Yeah I saw comments talking about them just now, I first thought it was security coming to get him but it was more of them? Or perhaps some of the people who moved were security too because it didn't take long for the camera to go back to Geoff by himself so I assume they were getting caught/escorted away out of frame when they managed to get only Geoff in the shot again. The Elden Ring instance was kinda funny but at the same time worrying, this time was just outright disappointing. There'll probably be another interruption at other big events still, but I hope not. Eh

RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Aug 23rd, 2023

Apparently it was just one dude; security just took their time so some people thought it was more people joining in.
Security has to be better going forward though because this is twice in a row Geoff has had someone trespass on stage and anyone who has considered doing it will just feel like they have a really good shot at doing it now that they've seen back to back successes. Either that or stop allowing the public into these events and keep it to press and industry only.

Got my Steam codes for Sea of Stars and I get to spend my night off binging the game, let's fucking gooooooooo!!!

It's been a long wait since backing this game and I cannot wait to experience what they've made. Of the games I've backed on Kickstarter before, Sea of Stars has definitely shown the most potential to be an absolutely glorious game. Might easily be the best RPG of 2023 (cope BG3 scrubs).

Can't wait for my Physical PS5 version with all of the backer goodies to arrive later, but glad they offered a second digital code to make up for the wait. This let me get a Steam copy for me and for Monocle. He's also a huge fan of classic styled RPGs so it'll be really awesome getting to experience the game at the same time and fanboy over everything in it.

RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Aug 29th, 2023

I had a quick look at one of the trailers for Sea of Stars the other day after a streamer I watch said they were gonna play it, and I hadn't really come across the game much beforehand so I got curious. I've been trying to figure out if it's a game I'll want to play or not since I don't really have much experience with RPG's to know upfront if it's something I'm gonna vibe with.

RE: General Game Chat - Dragon Lord - Aug 30th, 2023

I played a few hours of it yesterday (didn't binge all night like I originally planned), and oh my god so far it's AMAZING. If the rest of the game is as good as these first few hours, then this game was not only worth the monetary investment and the wait, but will easily become the best project I ever invested in on Kickstarter.

It's like this orgasmic mashup of Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and it is absolutely delicious. Game is god damn GORGEOUS too. Can't wait to get my PS5 copy eventually and play on my OLED TV.

Speaking of my PS5, sign-ups for the technical test for Honkai Star Rail on PS5 opened up and of course I signed up. Hopefully I get in to see how it is on PS5. :prayge:

RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Aug 30th, 2023

I've been catching parts of Sea of Stars on a Twitch stream but not enough to have a clue what's going on in the story swap despite the streamer being a good way into the game by now, but I will say that SoS has an absolutely gorgeous art style. I think the only thing I've been a bit iffy about is the animated cutscenes that briefly play at times because some seem to be illustrated animations and others are pixel art animations, and I feel the pixel art ones are not only better but also keep the visual style of the overall game consistent.

Sea of Stars looks so far up my alley. I wanna give it the time of day it deserves. I need to just, not be married, have responsibilities or have any form of social life for a few weeks and I'll be set.

The heck does this part mean?! I wasn't aware being married to me meant you can't play games. XD

In things that made the news today that I found to be wild, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition got rated by the ESRB, meanwhile it'll be 15 years since BG&E2 was teased and 6 years since BG&E2 was announced at E3 2017. There's just something nutty to me about how in five years it would be the 20th anniversary of BG&E2 being teased yet that game is still sitting at the starting line. XD

Then I also saw that a new Rugrats game of all things was announced today too after it came up on my recommended YouTube feed:

I thought it was a remake but the trailer gives me the impression this is actually just a brand new game. Not something I expected in 2023 if so. Gasp

RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Sep 4th, 2023

Just saw that most if not all of the line-ups for TGS 2023 have dropped today: Anyone interested in seeing anything from the show? So far I'm mostly interested in Dragon's Dogma 2 getting new stuff shown off, but not sure on any other games like Tekken 8 only because I don't know if we'll actually get anything new when it only says "Playable/Stage" so I'm not going to get excited for anything where trailers or news aren't guaranteed. Shout-out to Sega and Atlus btw for being one of the few (or maybe only) companies to outright state what games are getting trailers from them or not.

I do wonder why Hogwarts Legacy is getting a trailer though since it's out on everything except Switch, and there's no way nobody knows about that game who would care for it at this stage to warrant a trailer reminding people it exists. I guess it could just be for the Switch version but the line-up shows all platforms which for me implies the trailer will be for the game as a whole. Dunno, just something that stood out as a little odd to me on the line-ups I've looked at so far. Shrug

Considering how big the Switch is in Japan, the HL trailer might just be to advertise the upcoming Switch version again. If they can get Japanese gamers excited for the upcoming release, then it would be a massive boost to sales for the game once the Switch version drops. Could also be to show the game running on Switch, to put any worries about the game not running well on the system to rest.

As for what I'm excited to see at TGS, more of the same, really. I don't know if Hoyo will be showing off anything new about Zenless Zone Zero, especially after just releasing a new trailer for the game at Gamescon, but it'd be awesome if we got even more new info on the game. Will keep an eye on Square Enix, Capcom, Koei Tecmo (god please finally give us a Toikiden 3 announcement), D3Publisher and a couple of others. I don't know exactly how much interesting news will come out of TGS this year or if it'll mainly be just showing off what we already know is coming for the most part.
