RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 8th, 2024 Well that's dumb. If it were me I'd have probably just removed the SD card when it told me to wipe it and hope that's enough to keep my data intact on it. Any plans on what you're gonna do about the Switch if you aren't able to find a way to fix it yourself? RE: General Game Chat - Maniakkid25 - Oct 8th, 2024 I've already paid for the Nintendo repair services, so I'm gonma send it in when I can buy some plastic wrap (my dad apparently doesn't know what that is). I have to wrap it in plastic per the instructions for shipping it. It's supposed to take 10-16 business days after shipping, so it will NOT be back in time for my trip. Picked a perfect goddamn time to just decide to break, swear to god. Also, the SD card wipe would have been unavoidable. See, if you ever move an SD card to another Switch, the Switch will reject it until you format it. That's right! You get 1 SD card per Switch, and they are not interchangable. Enjoy. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 8th, 2024 The plastic is probably to protect it from any water damage should the package you ship it in have any leaks. I'd wrap it in that and a shit ton of bubble wrap too to make sure it can't take damage of any kind while in transit, especially with how the postal services handle packages sometimes. And ugh, that crap with the SD card reminds me of how copying a save file to a USB on PS3 and then trying to use it as a backup on a reformatted or new PS3 could have some of the files refuse to work. LittleBigPlanet was a game that wasn't supposed to support save data transfers between consoles but somehow I managed to move my save over without any problems. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 10th, 2024 Eurogamer: PlayStation suddenly pulls Hotline Miami 2 from Aussie PS5 owners after realising country's ratings board denied game's release a decade ago LOL, how do you not notice this?! Every game on the PS Store has to show the age rating, so I really want to know where Sony sourced the Australian age rating from when putting the game onto the store. I really feel like lately Sony keeps making decisions without checking all their t's are crossed and i's are dotted first. RE: General Game Chat - Maniakkid25 - Oct 14th, 2024 I like Devolver's response to the request for comment. Devolver Digital is so amazing, sometimes. Yeah, this is definitely an "oopsie" that they shouldn't have done. Admittedly, getting banned in Australia is easy (Dark Sector managed to get banned on violence alone lol), but I'm amazed they managed to sell it anyway with no one noticing! Granted, that would absolutely be something Devolver Digital would do, but it's still impressive. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 14th, 2024 (Oct 14th, 2024, 04:53 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:It definitely would, although reading the article again it seems that Hotline Miami 2 released on PS5 and XSX a year ago, and that was when the game was made available for purchase on the Australian PS Store as well. So it looks like Sony just made the mistake off their own back, and I'm going to assume Xbox didn't put the game up for purchase on their Australian store region since it being pulled from there would have been reported on too. So after I wrote the above, I spent some time trying to find out what age rating was being used for the game in Australia, and it just straight up says "Refused Classification". What happened was when the native PS5 version released, the game just became available on the PS Store across all regions automatically which is how nobody caught it. I guess the Xbox Store doesn't enable the purchase link when a games store page updates if the game isn't allowed to be sold in that region? RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 14th, 2024 Xbox Partner Preview Announced for October 17 Xbox have announced that a new Xbox Partner Preview will air this Thursday, October 17 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. The presentation will last approximately 25 minutes, and will feature the following games and/or companies:
RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 29th, 2024 Concord Studio Shut Down by Sony Shortly after the launch of Concord, the game was taken offline with Firewalk stating in a PlayStation Blog post that they would be exploring options for the games future. Today, SIE have announced that Firewalk will be closing down and the game will not be returning in any form. SIE Wrote: Another studio, Neon Koi, is also being closed down. They were working on a mobile action game that will now not be moving forward. Source: Sony Interactive Blog What a load of bullshit that people who were not the fault of Concord's failure are losing their jobs while I bet higher ups who asked for this game to be made the way it was either keep their jobs or get a golden parachute. Also a fun little thing to point out I saw mentioned in comments on the news, both Concord and its studio have closed down before the Concord animated short and the Secret Levels episode focused around the game will see the light of day. I know it was already regarded as the biggest failure in gaming before this, but with the whole scenario to end this way absolutely cements it without doubt now in a way that I can't ever see being topped. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 31st, 2024 Nintendo Music | Announcement Trailer Enjoy Nintendo game music—now on your smart device! Nintendo Music features a variety of tracks from Nintendo franchises, plus curated playlists based on characters, in-game moments, and moods. From recent releases to nostalgic classics, even more music will be added in the future. Nintendo Music is available today, exclusively to active Nintendo Switch Online members. Nintendo are announcing some interesting things in the last month between this and the Alarmo clock. I'd rather this have just been on existing music services but with the curated content and extension feature I can see how Nintendo would need their own service to do that. Also LMAO at the spoiler prevention feature being demonstrated by hiding OoT, because I'm sure people are avoiding spoilers for that of all games in 2024. RE: General Game Chat - Mr EliteL - Oct 31st, 2024 That's good news from Concord and it's studio. Too bad they couldn't pinpoint the people who were truly at fault and remove them, but if that did happen the studio's name would already be tarnished for any future projects the remaining people left might have anyway. It'll probably be difficult for them to find another job or perhaps start their own Indie studio, just so long as no "From the makers of Concord" phrases don't get plastered on whatever they do next. Nintendo Music, whatever. Even if I did have a Switch Online subscription I still wouldn't use it, but neat I guess for the people who will. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Oct 31st, 2024 Yeah I doubt the studio could continue when the first thing anyone will think of when seeing the name attached to anything not-Concord is Concord. I don't think the employees were laid off though but just shifted around into other areas of SIE; a similar thing happened recently with another studio but I can't remember who it is right now. >.< The one thing I saw about Nintendo Music that was neat is they included the raw music from certain trailers such as the BotW E3 2014 trailer. RE: General Game Chat - ShiraNoMai - Nov 1st, 2024 I've heard that Nintendo is drip feeding the music content? I haven't downloaded it yet cuz I had recently canceled the sub I had to NSO cuz I wasn't fucking using it (or, well, I was a bit but not enough to justify paying for it) so I can't verify for myself, but I've been seeing folks on social media sharing screenshots of what looks to be a very sparse collection of games so far. RE: General Game Chat - Maniakkid25 - Nov 1st, 2024 Speaking of Nintendo, I got my Switch back, and they did fuck all with it! No seriously; I got it back with a letter saying they couldn't find an active repair order on it! Like! In other news, my Switch actually accepts a charge now, so hell if I know what was wrong with it in the first place. RE: General Game Chat - Moonface - Nov 7th, 2024 (Nov 1st, 2024, 06:00 AM)ShiraNoMai Wrote:Really? The trailer made it appear that practically everything was already on the app. I don't even get why they would take their time with putting music on there; it isn't like their game libraries where they add new games to keep you coming back because music isn't a "consume it and move on" type deal like games typically are. Plus I doubt anyone is going to extend their NSO purely to keep access to new Nintendo Music additions. (Nov 1st, 2024, 11:17 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:Well at least the problem was somehow fixed I guess? Did they not receive the thing with an explanation of what was wrong with it though? Them saying there's no active repair order makes it sound like they got it and didn't know why the heck they got the thing to begin with so were like *shrug* and just sent it back. |
