I never knew about it, but yeah despite fitting really well with the PS3 Slim there's just so much space being used. Looking at my current TV stand it would've been the entire length of it whereas my Super Slim (I know it doesn't go on there) takes up like 40% space length wise.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 | Reveal Trailer

Probably not a surprise if you were aware there was going to be a Tony Hawk announcement, but I just wanted to share this in case anyone didn't see this yet and I was curious if anyone here was interested and/or has ever played any of the Tony Hawk games or not?

RE: General Game Chat - Maniakkid25 - Mar 5th, 2025

I have played the series. I also saw the announcement where they said there WASN'T going to be a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, so this just makes them dirty liars. Not surprising, given it's Activizzard, but still, dirty, dirty liars.

RE: General Game Chat - Mr EliteL - Mar 5th, 2025

Can't remember if I played a demo of a Tony Skater game or not, I can vaguely remember having a go at some skateboard game but that was so so long ago I don't remember which game it could've been. Still, if there was an announcement of no game was going be made, but then it was then hey, gotta give it to the fans that would be after a new Tony Skater game, they got a treat I guess.

My take on that article is Activision at the time preferred Vicarious Visions assist with CoD rather than work on another Tony Hawk game, but that another Tony Hawk game wasn't off the table entirely down the road. However, then I remembered how Activision was practically throwing everyone into the CoD machine (Toys for Bob managed to become an independent studio and escape that fate) and how at the time that was happening I expected that was because they cared for none of their other IP anymore because nothing was making massive bank for them. I'm wondering if the Xbox purchase led to switching course from that or not. Hmm

Talking about Activision's other IP, did anyone see they were doing marketing/interest testing on social media by using AI generated images of some of their games such as Guitar Hero and Crash Bandicoot? I can't say I'm gonna trust the quality of a game when AI slop is being used to make an initial pitch. Errm

I never played a Tony Hawk game growing up, despite owning other skateboarding games (anyone here ever play Street Skater?). I own the 1+2 remakes, but only played a crack baby amount of it. Shrug

Oh, for anyone who does possibly have an interest in THPS 3+4, the campaign mode for 4 is being changed to now be time-based challenges: Kotaku
I'm hoping they change that because I've seen nothing but negative responses to that change, particularly because the levels in THPS4 are apparently much bigger than the other games so a two-minute timer is going to make just exploring those maps fully a complete ball ache. Eh

Tom's Hardware | U.S. Atari parts store still open after 41 years, has spent $100K+ designing new parts — last original Atari hardware launched 32 years ago

Tom's Hardware Wrote:
Atari parts and accessories store Best Electronics stands bravely defiant against the march of time and technology, continuing to serve this increasingly niche retro hardware market 41 years after it was set up. As well as supplying parts, it continues to source and make new parts, provide support, hints, and tips, and claims to have spent $100,000+ in engineering development. In contrast, the iconic and innovative Atari Corp. behind all the firm's home computers, and advanced consoles like the Lynx and Jaguar, went bankrupt in 1996, which is almost 30 years ago.

The website itself is a sight to behold, being possibly one of the oldest looking modern-day functioning websites: https://www.best-electronics-ca.com/

This place stands alongside that one remaining Blockbuster Video that's somewhere in the U.S.. I wonder if there's any other singular specialty stores like this that are surviving the test of time serving a long defunct service/product? Hmm

As a lover of preserving video game history, the fact that they still are at their craft to maintain long-forgotten hardware is such an amazing feat to behold. I hope they continue to thrive and find business.

Because I know there's some who are fans of Xenosaga here, I just saw that the Japanese exclusive mobile game, Xenosaga: Pied Piper, has been preserved by fans and a full translation patch is currently in progress.

I also saw a comment on this news that shared this page going over the differences between the console versions and the DS versions of the first two games, for anyone interested: https://yzak.nu/cfud/xenosaga/ds.html
