Hey hey, Daisy Circuit made it, yay! Always liked the statues with Daisy and Luigi in there. Grin

Diddy, Funky and Pauline also getting added is great, Peachette too maybe but darn, where's our man, Captain Falcon? Should've been him instead. Ah well, I suppose the best time really was when the F-Zero track got added but nah. At least the LoZ track got Link along with it.

Until Peachette was announced I was fine with all the characters being added for Wave 6. I guess we aren't getting a new track for this last wave either since usually those have been the first revealed track for their respective waves.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | Booster Course Pass Wave 6 - Course Overview
The tracks for the final wave of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been revealed in this new trailer:

  • Rainbow Road (Wii)
  • Madrid Drive (Tour)
  • DK Mountain (Double Dash)
  • Daisy Circuit (Wii)
  • Piranha Plant Cove (Tour)
  • Bowser Castle 3 (Super Mario Kart)
  • Rome Avanti (Tour)
  • Rosalina's Ice World (MK7)
What do you think of the line-up for the final wave, and what are your thoughts on the added courses across the entire Booster Course Pass now that no further track additions are left?

RE: Mario Kart (Series) | MK8D Wave 6 Courses - Mr EliteL - Nov 1st, 2023

A good lineup but really, three more Tour tracks? Would've been fine for 2 of them being Tour but give one of the other past games a track too like DS or 64 for the final wave. Ah well whatever. Super happy about DK Mountain and Wii Rainbow Road, of course Daisy Circuit as we already knew from the previous announcement. Don't remember Ice World really even though I played 3DS and think it's one of the best in the series, but looks great in this version.

Time for me to get back into MK8 again since I played like once since I got the Booster Course Pass.

I don't mind the Tour tracks taking up a little bit more of the remaining slots because they're at least technically new tracks. I'm curious if there's any way to choose tracks in Tour and whether or not the amount of plays a particular track gets determines if it gets ported over to MK8D, since every track in the Booster Course Pass is a straight port from its Tour recreation.

RE: Mario Kart (Series) - Moonface - Aug 10th, 2024

I couldn't decide whether to make a new thread for this or not, because it does fit here too but I don't know if it should be forced to be in here just because this thread exists? Errm

Anyway, I've been kicking around the idea of some sort of eliminator style poll series to see what track from all the Mario Kart games would come out on top. I figured if I did it it could be more interesting than everyone just going "This track is best", but I don't know what experience everyone here has with Mario Kart as a whole to know if folks would be interested in such a thing. Unsure

If not that, then I guess I could make it simpler and ask folks what your favourite cup is overall or per game?

RE: Mario Kart (Series) | Question - Mr EliteL - Aug 13th, 2024

Possibly. I can only speak for myself but I just went to Tiermaker to see where I rate tracks and I can only confidently place mainly Super Circuit which includes all tracks from Super Mario Kart, Double Dash and Wii with a select few from N64, DS and 7. However a lot from N64, DS, 7 I don't have memory of (I'm surprised by my lack of MK7 actually), MK8 tracks not played them enough nor the Tour tracks in there and will have no opinion on the rest of the Tour tracks anyway.

My favourite cups might be similar in that I don't think I can call DS or 8, might be able to say 7 though.

Super Mario Kart - Super Circuit's Extra Special Cup
Mario Kart N64 - Special Cup (for Jungle Parkway, Yoshi Valley, Rainbow Road)
Super Circuit - Special Cup
Double Dash - Special Cup or All-Star Cup (it's essentially play every track in the game)
Mario Kart Wii - Star Cup or Lightning Cup
Mario Kart 7 - ...nah I can't say but might be between Star and Special Cup

So yeah mainly Special Cups for me as they usually have a Bowser Castle and their respective Rainbow Roads but there's usually a track I really like included along them which just puts them top. N64's Rainbow Road though is fine but isn't a standout of the cup as it's Yoshi Valley and Bowser's Castle that do for me. I remember disliking Yoshi Valley a lot first time I played it getting lost as I made wrong turns and stayed in the middle section too long making me lose the race, but that's what makes that track so unique with multiple ways to get through that section and find your way out. It's not hard after playing it in the remade version and could get through it fine on the N64 after that first race anyway.

RE: Mario Kart (Series) | Question - Moonface - Aug 23rd, 2024

Trying to pick out my favorite cup just from MK8D is a lot harder than I was expecting it to be.

Lightning Cup is solid and out of any cups featuring Rainbow Road for me it's just barely the one I'd pick to play over Special Cup. I don't know what the general view is on the quality of original MK8D tracks over returning tracks from older games but for me any cups that are all or mostly returning tracks are the least likely I'd want to play compared to the cups with original tracks in them.
