If OoT does get a remake I would hope/expect MM to follow it because that was what happened with the 3DS remake since both games share a lot of content.

And yeah, I wish both WW HD an TP HD would get ported to Switch instead of both being doomed to the Wii U. Depending on how long it takes for an OoT remake or other new Zelda entry porting those two games would be an easy way to fill the gap.

It's very puzzling why they haven't brought Wind Waker HD over to Switch (and now Switch 2). Knowing my luck they're finally going to do it now and they'll make it Switch 2 exclusive.

For those who are interested in Square Enix's upcoming 2.5HD action RPG, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, there is now a prologue demo available on all platforms to try out. I downloaded it on PS5, but haven't tried it out yet, but looking forward to. Probably going to play it for a bit tonight after work.

So, if you haven't heard, Destiny 2 is being sunsetted. Not shut down; the devs are simply ending active development of the game, rather than shutting down the servers. There is no plan for a Destiny 3, and apparently there are plans for mass layoffs.

If this comes as a surprise, it should. According to an article by Paul Tassi, a reporter for Forbes, most of BUNGIE didn't even know Destiny 2 was getting sunsetted. Yeah, the heads of Bungie took a look at Fntastic, and said "You know what we should do? Not tell our devs vital development information. That's a plan for success!" So Bungie is now ride-or-die with Marathon, which is well-known to be floundering for an audience and is now getting review bombed because of people mad about Destiny 2 being sunsetted. So, everything is going great at Bungie!

Considering the game is 9 years old, I can't say the game ending active development came as a surprise to me. However, that would be because I either expect a sequel is being worked on, the game has plateaued and further investment won't do much for the developers (and the players), or it's actively losing players/money and attempts to remedy it haven't been working out. I don't know a ton about Destiny 2 but I did hear how much of a pain it is to try and get into it as a new player because older content is just straight up removed from the game, particularly story content, which probably makes trying to get into the story harder.

However, for the developers themselves to not be aware of this happening until the heads of Bungie just drop it on them is utter bullshit, especially as the backlash to it from players isn't going to hurt the people running Bungie who made this out-of-nowhere call. I'd maybe give some benefit of the doubt if Sony had come to them and said to sunset the game, but if they didn't then I would assume Sony would have a say in Bungie making that call and I can't see why they would agree with it unless Destiny 2 was actively costing more money to keep working on it than it brings back in.

Considering the recent report that PlayStation/Sony have lost something like $750 million USD due to Bungie severely under performing, there's a very high chance that the orders came from PlayStation.

Add on top of it how much of an absolute, massive FLOP Marathon has been (struggling to maintain 10K players on Steam, which are horrible numbers for a multiplayer-only game on that platform and the PS and Xbox numbers are very likely worse), I'm sure PlayStation came in and said "we're not paying for the development of two under performing live services games, stop working on the old one and instead invest more millions into Flopathon."

We've seen PlayStation shutter studios for a lot less, so I won't be surprised if Bungie gets shut down in a year or two after Marathon continues to bleed money.
