RE: Pokémon (Series) - Moonface - Jul 21st, 2025

Some comments I saw gave really good ideas of what could've been done. The keyboard could've used Unown for all the letters because it just works, and the headset could've featured Pikachu or Eevee ears on it.

Is....is The Pokémon Company okay? Monkas Unsure
The video title made me think someone forgot to replace the placeholder title for the video until I watched it and realized it was intentional. It doesn't announce anything, it just seems to be a somewhat unhinged video about Malamar just for the heck of it? LOL

RE: Pokémon (Series) - Mr EliteL - Sep 6th, 2025

I didn't know Malamar was a....I'd say popular but that doesn't seem like the word, for a video out of nowhere. Quite weird, but I guess that's what Malamar is. XD

It an announcement about a series the Pokémon series will be stating called 'My friend Malamar'. sauce

Pokémon Pokopia | Announcement Trailer
Play as a Ditto transformed into a human and shape an empty land into a beautiful home for Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia, releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

RE: Pokémon (Series) | Pokopia Announced - queenzelda - Sep 17th, 2025

What I find funny is how most people online think the ditto humans are basically nightmare fuel. I do however like the idea of the game, just want to see more in the future of how it will play.

RE: Pokémon (Series) | Pokopia Release Date - shadow - Nov 15th, 2025

What I find hilarious is how a lot of people hate that this game has a key card for it. Nothing physical. Idk I think digital works just as well. 🤷‍♂️

RE: Pokémon (Series) | Pokopia Release Date - azalea - Feb 18th, 2026

there are some people that i know that are looking forward to this. personally, i don't think the gameplay is going to be my cup of tea necessarily, but im curious as to the gameplay of it and i'm up for watching others play to see how it is.

Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen Coming to Nintendo Switch
As part of Pokémon's 30th anniversary, the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version games are coming to Nintendo Switch! These classic remakes of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green will be available to download exclusively from Nintendo eShop after the conclusion of the Pokémon Presents beginning Friday, February 27, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. PST.

I always felt putting the older Pokémon games onto Nintendo Switch was an obvious thing to do that Nintendo just wouldn't ever actually do. However, I did always expect them to charge for the games as standalone titles rather than putting them into their NSO Libraries because it would just be leaving so much money on the table otherwise. Tongue

@azalea: EuroGamer put out a good video covering how Pokopia is in detail, particularly with the gameplay loop. They likened it to playing a mixture of Animal Crossing, Minecraft, and (unexpectedly) Viva Pinata, so how you and others feel on those games might give a clearer picture of if it's definitely to your tastes or not. Wink

RE: Pokémon (Series) | FireRed/LeafGreen for Switch - Dragon Lord - Feb 22nd, 2026

$20 a piece for these is absolutely diabolical. They should have been $20 as a dual-pack at most.

RE: Pokémon (Series) | FireRed/LeafGreen for Switch - ShiraNoMai - Feb 22nd, 2026

I also thought it'd be a dual pack at that price. It's half the original MSRP!

I naively thought they'd just add this to the NSO GBA line-up, and *maybe* charge a small Pokémon Premium™️to it. Nah. Just full release ports. Which, on one hand, is a better outcome than arbitrarily owning it (through subscription). Eh.

My OG copy is still in great shape, and even played it relatively recently to do a Pokémon Fiesta challenge and it was perfectly in tact. I should invest in some save batteries at some point (or legally dump the ROM from the cart).

Yeah, my copies of the game still work (at least last I knew) and I can just dig out one of my GBA SPs if I want to have the original experience of playing them again. I'd say maybe I pick these up on Switch if they ever go on sale, but it's Nintendo and... yeah, I'll probably be dead long before they put them on a sale of more than 50 cents.

I do kind of hope that we might see HeartGold and SoulSilver put on Switch some time soon though. While being a bit hypocritical, I would pay $20 a piece for those two games compared to what I'd pay for FR/LG.

RE: Pokémon (Series) | FireRed/LeafGreen for Switch - Moonface - Mar 11th, 2026

The games being digital too means the price will only ever be 100% decided by Nintendo. I know it isn't likely but a physical release does offer the chance for a price reduction at the discretion of the retailer/seller.

@Dragon Lord: If HG/SS come to Switch 2 I'll be impressed purely because I expect Nintendo to drag their heels bringing more old Pokémon games over. I also think it'll be a while before we see any DS games ported to Switch 2 because they'll have to be adapted to only having a single screen instead of two.

RE: Pokémon (Series) | FireRed/LeafGreen for Switch - Moonface - Mar 13th, 2026

I kept forgetting to ask this, but has anyone here picked up or planning to pick up Pokopia? I was initially indifferent to the game but after watching it for a bit and hearing/seeing how good it is and selling stupidly well, I'm tempted to pick it up at some point now. Especially since it doesn't have any of the things I came to dislike AC:NH for and seems to have way more of a gameplay loop too. Hmm
