RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - ShiraNoMai - Aug 25th, 2022

Lies of P and Where Winds Meet stole the opening night premieres for me. Lies of P looks fantastic. I'm just so in love with the world building and design, and it doesn't look too shabby to play either.
They put a gameplay trailer out as well for it:

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - Moonface - Aug 26th, 2022

@ShiraNoMai: Yeah, Lies of P and Where Winds Meet were both really good and surprising to see. Grin

Killer Klowns from Outer Space getting a game has to be one of the most unexpected game announcements of 2022, and I hope this one turns out well after the licensing problems that killed Friday The 13th: The Game.

I hope Dead Island 2 ends up being good, but with all the trouble the game has gone through I'm keeping expectations low on that one. If it turns out good and looks like more of the trailer I might end up getting it.

Callisto Protocol's moment was rather troubling for me though. The mutation aspect sounded like it would be really cool, but the instant an enemy mutated in the gameplay footage the player just picks them up and throws them into a blender. I don't like how you can just pick enemies up whenever you want and wish it was reserved for heavy damaged or stunned enemies, because its use in the footage made enemies feel really trivial.

Moonbreaker isn't my thing, but I appreciate the feature of painting your figurines and the space art is owo.

Sonic Frontiers needed that trailer for its reveal instead of the garbage footage we got at the time. That trailer is the best thing that's been shown from that game.

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - Mr EliteL - Aug 26th, 2022

Yeah, Sonic Frontiers really needed that new trailer, makes it look that little bit better. I just simply hope it doesn't turn out trash. I won't play it, but still.

Skimmed through this event as I wasn't aware when it was on to watch it live, and well nothing here for me personally other than the one obvious thing, but I didn't need to even watch that part anyway. Yeah there's that Dune game as I was interested and watch the most recent film, but I don't need a game based on that.

The Dune game is a survival MMO so I doubt it'll be up your alley anyway.

Do you think you'd get into Star Rail at all or is Genshin enough for you from Hoyo?

Only Zenless Zone...might be on my radar but even that's a stretch. At the moment yes, Genshin is enough.

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - Dragon Lord - Aug 28th, 2022

Lies of P still looking as good as it did when it was first announced... was it last summer? I don't quite remember. I still have the worry that they're going to try too hard to copy Bloodborne though. Hopefully the game ends up having enough originality to stand up on its own two feet though. The one thing you don't ever want to do is try to copy Fromsoft, especially not their best game. You're going to fail and fail hard doing that.

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - ShiraNoMai - Aug 28th, 2022

Did you check out the gameplay trailer I posted, @Dragon Lord ? It definitely feels a lot like Bloodborne. Even the UI is reminiscent. LOL

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - Frank - Aug 28th, 2022

I'm really interested to hear more about the Dualsense Edge. I just received a HexGaming Rival Pro and am really curious how different the two will be.

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - ShiraNoMai - Aug 28th, 2022

Yeah I wonder when they'll drop more info on it. I didn't realize this was just "hey, we're making this, okay bye" thing and not "here it is, it'll cost this much and go on sale at this date!". Kinda strange for a controller Hmm

RE: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 - Frank - Aug 28th, 2022

I'm assuming because the price reveal will likely turn most people off. Tongue

Have you used that HexGaming controller yet?

It probably also wouldn't go down well if the price is higher than most would like right on the back of PS5 price increases in most non-US markets. Might also just be a strategy to get the controller back in the news closer to launch by having new information to share that'll get people talking about it again. If all the info came out now and it doesn't release for say, another 3+ months, it likely isn't going to be talked about much within even half of that time, especially when the controller got announced during Gamescom so it has to fight a ton of other stuff for the spotlight. Better to just do some now and then grab attention again when it starts to fade from the public consciousness and doesn't have to go up against a ton of other news and announcements.

Yes I have actually. Quite a bit! I'll share the review with you when I finish it. I'm very torn right now, because I do really like it, but the $280USD pricetag is a big big pill to swallow.

Holy shit that's expensive! No matter how good it is I can see how that price can make it hard to justify purchasing when that can translate to a lot of other gaming things that will give you more bang for your buck. Gasp

Don't get me wrong, I really like it. In fact, it has become my #1 controller for PS5 FPS gaming. That said, I need to word my review carefully. I don't want to say it's "not worth it" because It may very well be worth it to those involved in eSports and competitive gaming. My personal use case it's not worth the price of admission, but that doesn't mean I'm not really enjoying the controller.
