The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | Name + Release Date Trailer | Discussion Thread Closing out today's showing is the game that probably explains why Nintendo chose to not air this Direct live in the UK. While not showing a lot in terms of gameplay, this new trailer did finally give us the official name for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as the release date! The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom drops for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023! [split] Nintendo Direct Megathread - Dragon Lord - Sep 13th, 2022 Yoooo this Direct was actually kinda Poggers. Octopath Traveler 2 definitely being the best thing here. The new Fire Emblem game looks like it might be okay? Kind of unsure how to feel about it right. NSO getting Mario Party 1-3, Pokemon Stadium 1+2 and 007 Goldeneye is pretty hype. Interesting that KT/Gust let Nintendo have the reveal of Atelier Ryza 3, but regardless, yay more Atelier. Kirby: Return to Dreamland remake looks nice. New Theaterhythm game definitely was unexpected. Tales of Symphonia Remaster is pretty KEKW, considering it's been on PS3/Steam since 2013 (PS3 at least, don't remember exactly when the Steam version launched). Resident Evil Cloud versions! OMEGALUL Harvestella still looking nice, but of course available on more desirable platforms. Zelda showing did nothing for me and Bayonetta looking as terrible as always. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Moonface - Sep 13th, 2022 I've not watched the full Direct, but have been checking out trailers of the games I can't wait to watch by going through that whole Direct. Only watched three trailers so far but as I said in my first post, this Direct looked pretty damn stacked! I guess this was Nintendo's E3 Direct but just later than usual. They've definitely set a good bar for Sony to match up to later today I think. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Dragon Lord - Sep 13th, 2022 So Square Enix posted on Twitter than Octopath Traveler 2 will be coming to PS4/PS5 as well... but the first game never released on PS systems... but... wait a second... >Second game revealed during Nintendo Direct in the morning >SE confirms PS releases, but first game not on PS systems >State of Play Happening later the same day ...C-could it be?!?! RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Moonface - Sep 13th, 2022 If the sequel is coming to PlayStation then yeah, the first game is absolutely coming in today's State of Play. Not sure if it would've been better for the announcement to wait until later so the first game coming to PlayStation isn't spoiled ahead of time. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Dragon Lord - Sep 13th, 2022 I've also since found out that the "Tales of Symphonia Remaster" is also releasing on PS4 and Xbox One... kind of weird decision making on Bamco's part here. Not really sure why PS4 needs it when anyone on PS who would want it probably got it/played it back on the PS3, or has a PC and played it there instead. I might get it if it has a separate trophy list just to double dip the platinum, but seeing as a large majority of PS3 and PS4 games share a trophy list, I'm doubting that to be the case. I can only think of a very small list of games on PS3 AND PS4 that didn't share a trophy list. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Moonface - Sep 13th, 2022 (Sep 13th, 2022, 06:48 PM)Dragon Lord Wrote:I guess they're just doing it in the event of any new Tales of fans that haven't played it yet and don't own a Switch or plan to play it on PC. From the sounds of it the PS3 and PC release were just HD releases whereas this upcoming remaster is containing new features and improvements, so it makes sense to release that newer version everywhere if it makes the existing one obsolete. If this remaster is different to the HD version, I wonder if the PC release is just going to get updated for existing owners or if it'll be a separate release, if it comes to PC at all. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - ShiraNoMai - Sep 16th, 2022 I'm sorry, but Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star was honestly the best showing tbh Decent direct. Lots of focus on Japanese/RPG style games, which is cool for some and others, a disappointment. I'm indifferent; can't say I feel a particular way towards either style/genre. The NSO announcements were pretty solid. Maybe actually be worth getting at some point for that price tag. RE: Nintendo Direct - September 13, 2022 - Moonface - Sep 17th, 2022 I hadn't mentioned it yet but I think Ib might be the craziest announcement to see in this whole Direct. When the trailer first started playing I swore I recognized the game, and then realized that it's one of those super old games from the era of Slenderman and stuff when people would just make these small horror titles and toss 'em out for everyone to download for free. It's crazy to see a game from that time now coming to a console and being a paid title, when besides the porting to the console it's the same thing that's existed for free on the internet for decades, and there's likely a lot of people who watched the Direct that don't even know Ib isn't actually a new game, which is what I find really nuts to think about. |
