Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - Moonface - Dec 22nd, 2024 Had this thought yesterday when I got reminded of Returnal and how that was originally a game I would have got for my PS5 but then just didn't, and now I don't know if I'll ever actually care to get it. So how many games have you intended to buy but just didn't, and not necessarily just because the game turned out poorly but because you just never got around to it for any reason? For me I have quite a good amount, assuming this is all of them and I didn't forget any:
RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - Kyng - Dec 23rd, 2024 LEGO Island 2 was one that I wanted back in the early 2000s. I'd enjoyed the original, as well as some of the other LEGO games... but, I think I was a bit busy playing those other games, plus Railroad Tycoon II and the Harry Potter games ![]() Also, XCOM 2. I think I just didn't bother because I never finished the first one, despite liking it! RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - Mr EliteL - Dec 26th, 2024 For more recent games; Devil May Cry 5 Eiyuden Chronicles Granblue Fantasy Versus Legend of Mana Remaster (this might still be on my Switch wishlist) Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Party Jamboree The Last Of Us Part II Triangle Strategy Yoshi's Crafted World I didn't include Doom Eternal or Ghost of Tsushima from my early post in Anticipated Games, or Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, Granblue Fantasy ReLink as these games never entered the phase of "I feel like buying this at some point". These ones were, although TLOU2 more of entered that phase before I saw anything unlike the rest when I watched their trailers. Most of them are because I lost interest, although DMC5 I didn't so that was more of literally just not getting it. Some aren't added to this list because I'm still on the fence like M&L Brothership on if/when I'll buy it. RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - azalea - Dec 30th, 2024 oof. i have a few.
i thiiiink that's it, but there's probably more that i'm forgetting. :c RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - Little Matcha Girl - Dec 31st, 2024 Bastion. I wanted to play this game for ages but never ended up buying it, and it's ancient at this point. Kind of gave up on it and honestly have no interest in playing anymore given how much time has passed - I've just moved on. ): RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - queenzelda - Jan 1st, 2025 Life is Strange: Double Exposure: Look I want everyone to understand that I am a huge fan of this franchise. I may not have liked LiS 2 with the boys that run away from home because of the whole mexcians r bad police r bad/ politics shoved in your face/ overly racist (impo) about how they feel most people treat mexicans, among other things. After that; LiS True Colors was a really wonderful game and I loved the story,. I felt that Deck Nine redeemed itself. But with this iteration, the frame rate was awful from what I saw when people started streaming it. It was a rehash of the first trauma that Max has to go through. So deck nine makes her remember about Jefferson and not in a good way. The game turns Chloe into the bad guy and Max has a thing for this girl named Saphie. UGH. It's a mess and those of us who choose to save Chloe are treated to her not being in the game because she's with someone else apparently. <_< So NO I refuse to get this game at full price. Maybe when it's on sale for $8 with the dlc then: maybe. But even then deck nine was shut down after this game wasn't very well received by the fans. I wonder why. >_> RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - ShiraNoMai - Jan 2nd, 2025 (Dec 31st, 2024, 07:00 PM)Little Matcha Girl Wrote: Question for you: have you played any of Supergiant Games' newest games? If the answer is no, I still highly recommend you play this. Bastion is a fantastic experience, but they've perfected their formula since then so it does feel dated if you've played their newer stuff. RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - queenzelda - Jan 3rd, 2025 Yea, Bastion is good, and I tried getting through it but for some reason I got really bored with it after a while and went to other games that came out. I saw a game play of it so yes, I did buy it and intended to play it but after seeing someone else beat it... I was not inclined to beat the game myself as it seemed overly hard to get there, and I had no idea where I was in comparison to the person that beat it. lol RE: Games You Intended to Buy But Just...Didn't? - ShiraNoMai - Jan 4th, 2025 I've definitely had that experience with other games before, queen, so don't feel bad about it. I happened to play the whole game in one or two sittings back when it came out so I had the full attention/experience of it head-on. I think it was also my first Steam game, now that I think about it... I would say that the era of streaming has made it much more difficult for me to experience a game myself after watching a full playthrough of a game, and moreso if the game is a single-player campaign experience. |
