Dominion of Darkness - my RPG/strategy simulator of the Dark Lord - Adeptus - May 7th, 2025 "Dominion of Darkness” is a free strategy text game in which the player takes on the role of a Sauron-style Lord of Darkness with the goal of conquering the world. He will carry out his plans by making various decisions. He will build his army and send it into battles, weave intrigues and deceptions, create secret spy networks and sectarian cults, recruit agents and commanders, corrupt representatives of Free Peoples and sow discord among them, collect magical artifacts and perform sinister plots. Note – one game takes about 1 hour, but the premise is that the game can be approached several times, each time making different decisions, getting different results and discovering something new. Feedback is very much welcome. Very, very much. Here is the game: https://adeptus7.itch.io/dominion If you are hesitant to play the game, I invite you to watch/listen to the reviews:
RE: Dominion of Darkness - my RPG/strategy simulator of the Dark Lord - Moonface - Jun 1st, 2025 I'd been too busy to sit down and give this a look properly (I wasn't sure what I was walking into so wasn't aware it would have saves and stuff) but finally I can check this out, and although I'm not far in yet it seems interesting. Unless I've missed it, my only criticism so far would be that there doesn't appear to be any log of what's happened so far, and at the time of writing this my game is on a screen that's asking me a choice after the prior one informed me of a rumor that could influence the success of certain choices on the screen that follows it (the screen I'm currently on). If I were to save my game here and reload it later, whatever that rumor was isn't something I can take into account if I don't remember what it was. Not to say the log should be of everything I've done in a playthrough, but just knowing what the last thing I did was when loading in could be good to remember where I was at and such. As it is now, loading into the screen I'm on right now later when I don't remember what that rumor was would be equivalent to just skipping the rumor screen and not reading it at all. Just a concern I have with playthroughs that might get saved at a time where information needed to be remembered, that's all. ![]() Other than that, so far it's interesting, especially for me since I haven't really played text based games much. I don't know if this game is finished or still in development but if you are still working on it then best of luck to you! ![]() |
