Disney/Pixar Movies - Moonface - Mar 19th, 2019

Has anyone else checked out the new trailer for Toy Story 4? Grin

I had my doubts about another Toy Story movie but that trailer has won me over. Grin

In the event you don't care for Toy Story, what other Disney/Pixar movies have you enjoyed a lot and are you looking forward to any that are coming, such as the numerous live action remakes that are coming out soon?

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Karo - Mar 19th, 2019

Toy Story 4 looks fucking amazing! I am sorry for the swearing, but this story looks like it going to look so good and I just love the fact they even decided to bring back Bo Peep!

It looks like it could be my new favorite Disney & Pixar movie!

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Moonface - Mar 20th, 2019

I'm wondering if Bo will end up dying in TS4. They seem to be painting her as the bad guy for the movie, and I can't see the entire movie being Woody having another existential crisis fueled by Bo just talking into his ear for 90 minutes to leave Bonny while other characters try to tell him to do otherwise. Either Bo would come with him at the end, they'd both let each other go, or she'd get pissed off at him trying to leave and stop him.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Karo - Mar 20th, 2019

I kinda doubt that Bo Peep will be the villain I mean its possible, but I kinda bet they'll just go their separate ways at the end while Woody tries to get the coolest and totally latest toy forky home!

...Do you think they'll sell Forky merch? XD

I expect they will, but I hope they don't. I would rather see Disney encourage kids to create their own toys like that to promote creativity. It's pointless to give a plot point of creating a toy via imagination and then negate that. If Disney really must sell merch related to Forky, then sell a kit of random shit you can glue onto things.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Karo - Mar 24th, 2019

You know Moony that exactly what they are going to do!

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Mr EliteL - Mar 27th, 2019

No, no Forky merch, no. OK, maybe one little thing that comes with Toy Story sets maybe, but not too much.

Anyway, Toy Story 1-3 were all brilliant. Toy Story 4 is looking promising at least. Glad to see Bo back, missed her in TS3, although knew she wasn't going to be included. Will miss how she was now, but wondering if that is a different Bo or not somehow. I know she says Woody's name but who knows? Maybe she learned from what the Woody toy was, see he's a lost toy who also knew another Bo and plays with him on that. Do hope it's the same Bo though, and hope she won't be the villain. We've had Sid (bad kid), Prospector (bad toy) and Al (collector/seller, who was kind of) and Zurg (wasn't exactly, only in toy lore), then Lotso (bad toy again). Then again don't know who or what else would be good for the next antagonist. Woody needs his Bo, c'mon! D=

For other Disney movies, seen plenty but not all. Like the animations the most. Not that much interested in the live action remakes, but I do admit enjoying The Jungle Book (2016) when I watched it last year. Tangled is my favourite.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Moonface - Mar 29th, 2019

I just watched Ralph Breaks The Internet while I'm flying to Boston and oof. This series is the only one from Disney, or anyone else for that matter, to make me feel like crying in their final acts. RBTI really got to me since the closing 15 minutes generated a feeling that was insanely relatable more than any other movie ever has for me. If you've seen it, you should be able to figure why.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Mr EliteL - Mar 29th, 2019

I haven't watched it yet, but mean to. I actually completely forgot about when it was releasing in cinemas and missed that, although I didn't really intend to go on my own anyway. So seeing there is a CinemaSins out now for it (which I will not watch yet, of course), I was a bit shocked knowing I missed the release. XD
Enjoyed Wreck It Ralph, so I'd imagine I'll enjoy Breaks The Internet.

You will. Wink

Also, what does everyone think of the current live action trend Disney have been taking with their movies? Dumbo recently released and didn't seem to perform that well, and we've still got Aladdin and Lion King to come yet. Aladdin has been rocky since it was first shown so I'm not expecting that to do well, and the Lion King remake is literally the first movie done with CGI instead of hand drawn animation. I can't see what the new version could possibly add except prettier visuals (and even that will be subjective).

Then there's Mulan for 2020. I've yet to hear of one change that movie is getting that was received well, so that'll probably bomb hard.

I didn't realise Jungle Book was getting a sequel either. The Jungle Cruise ride is getting a movie too (I really do not see what you could make a movie of that ride about). Lady and the Tramp is also getting one for Disney+ (again, fucking why?!), and there's others that you can read from where I'm reading: Future Disney Releases

Given how many there are going to be, which I didn't realise until I checked Wikipedia, it looks like Disney is getting drunk off of live action remakes in a similar way to their obsession with giving everything a direct-to-video sequel back in the early 2000's (which to no ones surprise, were mostly all shit).

Yeah...my views on the live action trend has soured quite a bit just from writing this post. Errm

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Kyng - Apr 7th, 2019

I enjoyed some of these back in the day; I think my favourites were probably Monsters, Inc and Finding Nemo. However, I haven't seen any in the cinema in over a decade now (mainly because I grew out of doing that).

Still, I'll sometimes watch them when they come on at Christmas (I've seen both Toy Story 3 and Monsters University via this method).

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Moonface - Apr 8th, 2019

I think the last Pixar movie I saw in theatres was Brave (which I thought was a Disney movie and not Pixar given it wasn't that great). I would have probably seen Toy Story 3 in theatres but that came out at a time where I didn't really go to the movies. Tongue

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Mr EliteL - Jul 22nd, 2019

I may have went to the cinema to see Toy Story 1, but I was too young to remember (4). Probably more likely VHS. I think I watched Toy Story 2, but can't remember 100%. I hope so.  Definitely saw Toy Story 3, and as of yesterday Toy Story 4 too. I avoided all other trailers and any reviews or mention of it, so I can go in with the full experience.

If you have not yet seen 4, and you enjoyed the others, I highly recommend you do so. Either as soon as possible, or wait for store release. I don't want to spoil anything but just in case you're someone who has avoided as much as I have: The Bo Peep in Toy Story 4 really is(was) Molly's. I was about 98% sure it would be, but just on the insane off chance it somehow wasn't or a new Bo Peep came across the proper one or something. I literally just made that up as an example, and this little spoiler is longer than necessary now.

I want to watch this again even more than Endgame, especially as I saw both for free with a cinema voucher.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - Moonface - Jan 28th, 2021

Anyone else interested in Raya and the Last Dragon? A new trailer came out the other day and I just watched it, along with the teaser from October that I didn't know existed, and it looks like it could be really good! I'm hoping there's as much action ratio in the movie as there is in the trailer.

RE: Disney/Pixar Movies - ShiraNoMai - Jan 29th, 2021

I wanted to see that trailer, but I recalled seeing on a few Discords and Twitters that this is one of those "here's the whole movie in a 2 minute sequence!" trailers that reveals the whole movie and leaves nothing to the imagination. I'm really starting to hate that trend of movie trailer lately. Why not leave the audience with a sense of intrigue to, I don't know, get them interested in going to see it??? If I wanted a review of the movie, I'd go look for a review. Rolleyes
