Handed in my notice at work on Friday. It's been 8 1/2 years with this place, and it was a very hard thing for me to do (less so the move and more so the detachment from my boss, who I'm quite close with). It's gonna be a rough next month but it was the first step towards a better me for this year (and beyond). Smile

Dang, 8 1/2 years, been that long already huh? Or perhaps it feels longer than that. Hope the fresh new start into whatever you're doing next proves to be worthwhile and indeed better.

Finally got my old and technically still my room emptied ready for Tuesday today, however got some temporary stuff in there for the night. My old bed came with a seat that opens up into a second bed which is what I'll be using to sleep in for the meantime. First instance I've used the seat for that purpose too because I did not have the space to open it up like that before. So my year can finally start to turn around as once the room is painted, carpeted I can get a new bed, sort through all my crud and reorganise everything. A long necessary process and hope to be in a better place mentally afterwards because frick the amount of stuff I have. XD

I've spent the last four days with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, it wasn't the happiest visit, because she's been very anxious about her health issues - but, I tried to support her as best I could. And we did go on a nice day trip to Bristol, where we saw a couple of the historic sites!

Tomorrow will be my dad's birthday, but I still haven't got him a main present. Will have to sort that out tomorrow morning!

Had to go to a walk in clinic this morning because I'm still not getting better, and turns out I have a really bad case of the flu so I'm written off work until at least Tuesday. I came down with it on Friday so it's been a really rough week so far. x.x

In the end, I got my dad a bottle of Cointreau. Was a bit of a faff, though: they forgot to remove the security tag, so I had to go back to the shop to get that done. Fortunately, he was very pleased with it in the end!

Also had my second attempt at getting a filling today. The first attempt was back in February, but it fell out towards the beginning of March - so I had a temporary one put in, until it was replaced by a permanent one today. Let's hope this one lasts longer!

Ah my last post in here, my room is now carpeted and painted for a while now. All that's in there is a temporary fold out bed (was the seat I had that came with my previous bed frame) and begrudgingly a dresser that technically isn't mine but some drawers which have my clothes in. Will be getting a wardrobe instead, plus a proper bed at some point then what else will go in there will be decided on after.

Had three days off work (two normal, one was shift change as I worked on Sunday), on the Tuesday came down with a bad stomach ache and other physical ailments, slowly getting better. Thinking it may have been the amount of dairy I had so I'll cut back on it.

Glad your room is turning out to be quite lovely. Can't wait to see photos when it's all done!

This week has been interesting. Been a weird mix of "senioritis" at work, but also "oh god i gotta prepare for these people not being able to do anything without me". I redid all my file directories today so they make sense to more than just me, which was quite a task. It wasn't in a complete state before but it definitely had some bits that only I knew where they were, you know? Now they're all in nice, distinct folders that make sense to navigate through. It's a nice bit of tidying I wish I just did for myself years ago ROFL

Wasn't great, to be honest.

On Wednesday, my dad and I went out to a local Indian restaurant in order to celebrate his birthday. I was really looking forward to it... but then, I ended up choking on a piece of my starter, which stayed in my throat for over an hour (long after I got home). It's not the first time this has happened - but it is the most severe incident of it.

On Thursday, I had a doctor's appointment to discuss my choking issues. They did give me some general advice (apparently, it's better to try and swallow it if you can't cough it up immediately), and they've put me on a waiting list for a follow-up appointment (which I'll hear back about at some point over the next two weeks).

Today, though, things got a bit better. I got a takeaway from that restaurant, with the main course that I would have had on Wednesday (Gobi manchurian). I thought it was rather nice Grin !

How did you get out of the store with it without the alarms going off? Those tags only get disabled using the same system that removes them. Blink

Today is rough for me. I've been up since 4am for work, got off 20 minutes ago, but am now at @ShiraNoMai's work because she needs my help to pack up all her shit since today is her last day at her job so I'm not gonna be getting to properly relax today for a few more hours yet. x.x

Day one of temporary retirement has come to a close. Not a very eventful day, just feels like any other weekend-day despite it being a Wednesday, but I'm sure it'll sink in by next week. Tomorrow and Friday I got my mom coming by to help tidy the house with me cuz it's sure in a state. Errm
