I don't really remember much from when I watched Power Rangers as a kid. I think I tended to like the Red Ranger, Black Ranger and Green Ranger but gravitated towards the Red for just being the leader of the group. There was a special White Ranger in one series I ended up preferring overall, don't really know which one though. Ah, the era I watched was the Mighty Morphin' and Zero series, and dabbled a bit in Samurai. Mighty Morphin' had the White Ranger, and I liked Red Ranger the most in Zero. Don't remember exactly why but probably what I mentioned earlier, the leader aspect.
Even though the costumes made the villains look less intimidating and look ridiculous, kind of the main Rangers too, it was still enjoyable as a kid for the fantasy side, growing up you saw the laughable side more. There is a fighting game that came out somewhat recently for Power Rangers surprisingly, which was in the vain of kinda like MvC2, Dragonball Fighter Z and/or King of Fighters with 3v3 and wasn't focused on one season but as a whole series, with the game making the villains look actually menacing for once.

I never really watched Power Rangers (too campy for my tastes), but besides personality are there actually differences between the Rangers besides their costume colours?

@ Moonface I'm probably getting this wrong, but kind of. Different fighting styles/weapons, definitely different Zords which would tell them apart even more. Sometimes there'd be an older or more experienced Ranger, usually as the "Other Color" or a Ranger that came before the current colour teens/young adults.

The only other colour Ranger I know about is the white one, which I always assumed was a super powerful Ranger or something that turns up rarely.
