Civilization VI

After winning my previous game as Poland, I started a new game playing as the Cree (one of the largest First Nations groups in Canada). It's still early days, but I'm getting off to quite a good start: I founded my second city right in a chokepoint between myself and Scythia, in order to cut them off from me, and then founded my third city in some fertile land near Egypt.

Oh, and I successfully founded a religion - which is something I never did in my Poland game Tongue !

CrossCode [Steam]

Finally got around to buying this last night. I loved the way it looked when Bahroo streamed it the day it released. I'm not too far into it yet (only a little over an hour), but I'm having a blast with it already. It's proving to be an amazing game in the early goings. Obviously there's a lot of game left, but hopefully it can continue being this good throughout. You know it's gotta be a good game when it makes me actually play something on Steam for the first time in nearly two years.

Star Ocean: Anamnesis [Android]

I've been slacking on killing the current event boss, so now I'm hurrying to try and do the mission about 310 times in the next week on Misery 1. I'll also have to do it however many times on Misery 2 when that comes out on Tuesday. It's going to be quite the grind, but hopefully I can manage to do it all so I can get all the rewards from the event. At least the boss is fun. I switched over to Summer Reimi so I could do some damage, since all the teams I was getting when I was playing Rena didn't have any ice damage, so the fight was taking forever. The boss has resistance to all elements other than ice, so you need ice weapons to really do anything. I did a bit of whaling to get the Icicle Sword for my S. Reimi (and was lucky enough to get a second copy so I could uncap it once), so I'm able to put out a great deal of damage on the boss. If I get the fourth spot in a Rush Chain (which gives 300% damage boost), I can pull out up to 1.6 million damage on my own, which is a pretty large chunk of the boss's HP. I only wish I would stop getting into lobbies with morons who don't know how to play the game, and insist on fighting me for that fourth Rush spot when they are playing a bad character for this boss. I literally had a Ronyx fight me for the fourth spot, and Ronyx's Rush is fire damage, and the boss has 80% fire resistance. With a 300% damage bonus, he did barely over 30,000 damage. I would have done over a million. Just so many stupid people in MP that it gets annoying playing it (which is the main reason why I've been slacking on grinding the boss so far).

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of An Elusive Age [PS4]

The story is starting to get slightly more interesting, thank god. Still not that great, but at least it's picking up a little bit. Don't really have a whole lot to say on the game right now, because I spent most of my playing time yesterday playing the slots at the casino.

Been making pretty good progress over the past week or so. I'm now at the Nightmare Memphis or something like that for those who've played the game and are maybe wondering where I am.

Well, I say "played". So I had bought a USB audio cable for my guitar after buying the game when it was 70% off. Turns out, the game only works if you have a first-party USB audio cable, which is some dongle DRM bulls*** if I've ever heard it. So I had to shell out three times the cash to buy the proper device. There is a way to play the games without such a cable, but it requires editing the .ini files of the game, so, you know, I wasnt too keen on doing that.

Played more of my game as the Cree. As indicated in my previous post, I'd founded a religion (Protestantism) - but, so had all of my neighbours. So, I got involved in a couple of holy wars Tongue .

It was good fun. I managed to grab the city of Luxor from Egypt Grin .

Pretty cute game for the Switch. Was only like $5 so felt it was worth a shot. The puzzle elements have me stumped sometimes but it never discourages exploration (even if you only have a minute's run to do so) so I usually find something to progress even if it's a little bit of it.

Have I mentioned how amazing this game is? I haven't progress very far into the story just because I've having so much fun just running around killing enemies and doing quests. I really cannot recommend this game enough. It is more than worth the price.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age [PS4]

I'm in the post-game now. The story of the game ended up picking up a little bit, but still nothing to write home about. Difficulty is still severely lacking. I heard that the post-game was supposed to be a huge difficulty spike, but so far I haven't seen it at all (maybe I'm just too good :^) ). Hoping at least one thing in this game will give me a worthy challenge before the end, but I'm not holding my breath on it. Overall, it was a pretty alright experience. Ignoring a few major flaws, I'd say the game was good. Not ignoring those major flaws, it's just alright.

Star Ocean: Anamnesis [Android]

Trying to get some last minute farming in on the SO2 event boss before it ends in 30 minutes. Tomorrow brings the next set of limited characters in, with the NieR: Automata collaboration. Haven't decided if I'm going to pull for 2B or not. Kind of want to, but at the same time I want to just save all of my gems to pull for Halloween Millie in a few weeks. I have enough gems to where I could do one or two 10-pulls for 2B and still be able to recover enough to have 3-4 pulls for Halloween Millie (plus several 5* Ace Character Tickets), but with already having a maxed out Summer Reimi, I just don't know if I really need 2B outside of just wanting her for collection purposes. Guess I'll end up deciding on that tomorrow when I hop on.

Since I really enjoyed both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, I decided to get this with some money I got for my birthday. So far, I've only played through the 'tutorial' section, but it does look promising!

Could You Dragon Lord elaborate more about the CrossCode? I have it on my wish list, and even downloaded its demo, but some calamity fell upon me and I forgot about it. Two things I'm interested are if this is RPG, and what kind of battle does it use?
