WHERE IN THE WORLD #4.5

So after my mistake in the last round of putting the country name in the image's description on Imgur, I have had to flee the country I was in and hide out somewhere new. But where in the world am I this time? Hmm

How It Works
  • You only need to name the country in most cases. Guesses that involve the USA as the answer will require a state as well.

  • This is a team based game, however I will award bonus XP to those who assist the most in narrowing down the answer.

  • Each participant may ask one yes/no question to narrow down the country per day; however guessing the country by name has no limit.

  • Asking a question that results in a "Yes" answer will reward you with 25XP. A question that results in a "No" answer will reward you with 10XP. Finding the correct country will reward you with 100XP.

  • I may make adjustments to the game if necessary, as it is still young and learning to walk.

  • If you have suggestions for different ways to award XP based on progress, I would be very interested to hear it. Smile

Here's the photo I took when I arrived at my new location! Where am I?

Yes.

Also just in case anyone thinks by once a day I mean you need to wait 24 hours, you don't. I don't care when in the day you ask, just don't do it twice within the same day. Smile

Are you in a country that had territory east of the Iron Curtain (including now-unified Germany)?

Okay, a few thoughts:

First of all, the yellow rear number plates made me think "the UK". But, we know it's an EU country, and therefore it can't be the UK (ugh...), and of course British cars are sometimes used elsewhere in the world anyway.

I then thought "Ireland". However, Ireland drives on the left - and this is clearly a country that drives on the right. So, not there either.

I then remembered that French cars used yellow rear number plates until relatively recently. They did switch to white a few years ago; however, there will still be some cars there with yellow ones. And then there's the Netherlands, where cars have yellow number plates on the front and rear. And it does look quite green and flat, which would fit in with the Netherlands...

But then, while I was typing this post out, the "east of the Iron Curtain" answer came up and screwed that up Sad . So, I'm back to square one Tongue .

Are you in a country that had a team at Euro 2020?

I'm an idiot who can't navigate directions. The answer to this is actually no.

You are correct! I'm glad you got a shot before anyone else got in here since you mentioned it in your last post and I'd have felt bad if someone else had guessed it before you due to my mistake earlier. Whistle LOL

Well, my mind had been screaming Germany the entire time, so it's good to know I was wrong lol. Also, I would have specifically avoided the Netherlands because there are clearly HILLS in that picture!

Yeah, where in the Netherlands is this, specifically? Just curious.

It was interesting to learn, when thinking of things to narrow down, that most of the EU drive on the right side of the road.
