As I am currently in the middle of hour 5 of cleaning the house today with @ShiraNoMai and her mother, I'm obviously being exposed to a plethora of chores ranging from cleaning, to dishes, to vacuuming, to garbage, and lord knows what else at this point. Anyway, it's giving me a good taste of everything at once to determine what ones I really hate compared to others. Tongue

How do you feel about chores? Any you actually enjoy? Did your parents make you do any growing up?

My motivation for chores stinks. I don't mind the tasks while I'm doing them but motivating me to do them is the biggest hurdle. I'm way more incentivized to do chores if I'm doing it with someone else, or if it effects someone else besides myself.

Laundry hands down has to be the worst chore of them all though Doh

Laundry is one I don't mind as much as most other chores but I have to be doing it standing and with something to watch. A lot of other chores don't really offer the ability to be watching something at the same time like the dishes or cleaning in spaces that don't have a TV within view.

Doing the washing up, sweep stairs, bathroom, kitchen were the main chores I did growing up. Washing up is the best one really as I just listen to music whilst doing and I'll make sure I get every last bit of dirt off as we don't have a dishwasher. Done laundry, hoovering (although we don't have a great one at the moment), other cleaning and I'll clear sink pipes that I can to when they get blocked badly. Mowing the lawn out front is another I do when I took over from my bro, that's fine too.

@Mr EliteL: I thought you had a dishwasher? Or was it in your old kitchen and you guys didn't put one in when it got redone? Unsure

Also seeing you mention doing chores growing up, I never did any chores growing up. My parents never asked me to and the few times I offered to I would screw them up badly enough my mum would just tell me not to worry about it again. Whistle

My favorite household chore is doing dishes. For some odd reason I just find it to be a relaxing activity to do. Just pop in my ear buds, play my favorite tunes and just go at it.

Nah we've never had a dishwasher, we did have a tumble dryer though for a long time, mostly never used because it was too noisy or something, then left outside in our back garden for far too long, we kept having to cover it from weather but with no intention of using it. Did eventually get rid of it but that was way after my brother left our house.
