RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Announced - queenzelda - Mar 20th, 2024 (Mar 20th, 2024, 05:14 PM)Moonface Wrote: I started out with a traditional farmhouse too. In the update, it looks like the game chooses the layout of the farm for you with the update though. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - ShiraNoMai - Mar 20th, 2024 Nah they give you an option when you're starting a new file from all the Farm options: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Farm_Maps There were 6 other options before, in addition to the standard farmhouse we picked, and with this new update, they added one more. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - queenzelda - Mar 21st, 2024 Nice, but for some reason when I played the game wouldn't let me pick my plot. Idk, I was just starting a new file since it's been a while since I last played Stardew Valley. I also watch TagbackTV who is obsessed with playing it. haha So watching him makes the game seem more appealing than I find it to be. For me after a while I kind of get bored with it after year one. xD RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - Moonface - Mar 22nd, 2024 The farm layout choice is in what I think can be an easily missed spot on the character creation screen. It's located along the right hand side of the screen but you have to manually go over to it. I almost missed it when making my new game file the other night. I'm glad I didn't because I wanted to pick the Forest layout for my file because I've seen some really lovely farm designs using it. Also, I saw this superb comic someone made in response to being able to drink mayonnaise in-game now: RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - queenzelda - Mar 22nd, 2024 Haha, yea TagBackTV was giving mayo out to everyone in the game but not many people seemed to like mayo as a gift. lmao I saw some people post on twitter that they found a leprechaun hat, and that there seemed to be no mention of it in any wikis. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - Moonface - Mar 23rd, 2024 I believe 1.6 has a fair amount of things that were added but not mentioned in the patch notes, so that hat is probably one of those things. I know people are still discovering new things on the games subreddit but I haven't looked at any of it to avoid spoilers, since most if not all of them are related to easter eggs and/or secret in-game events. Also, the NPC's react in-game very similarly to Sebastian in that comic if they see you drinking mayo. I think Linus (the vagabond who lives in the tent) is the only one who doesn't get repulsed by it. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - ShiraNoMai - Mar 23rd, 2024 I just got myself a Fishing Pond on my farm and put some Super Seacucumbers in there with the hopes that it'll either produce more fish or provide Roe! I've been noticing all the neat waterfalls that have been added to the landscapes and it's really added a lot to the visuals IMO RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - Moonface - Mar 27th, 2024 I haven't been able to tell what waterfalls are new and what were already in existence. Although I think the only one I've seen is the one in the main town on the way up to Robin's house because there aren't any others in Pelican Town (excluding those your farm can have if you pick a layout that contains them). Also I still think the dungeon exploration areas are my favorite thing to do in the game. I could live in those caves all day just playing that mini game if I wouldn't pass out in game from the time mechanic. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - ShiraNoMai - Mar 28th, 2024 There's that one, and there's also the one in the Mountain's river where Robin's house is but to the northeast, right next to the Adventurer's Guild. Very pretty! Mine stuff is fun yeah, though I feel like I dump too much time in there when I could be tending to stuff in the town or my farm. I feel like they were always waterfalls and now I'm questioning what was actually there before. Also, I experienced great pain today... This was all my stone, coal and copper that I've gathered in the game so far. I had none elsewhere. It took a lot for me to not save scum and redo the day to avoid this. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - Moonface - Apr 30th, 2024 Ugh, I have tried so many times to reach the bottom of the Skull Cave and it doesn't matter what my luck is like, I can't get close to the bottom before 2am rolls around. I did at least 5 runs today and the best I got was 86. I feel like the only way to do this is to ignore using a pickaxe and just load up with tons of each type of bomb and just blow everything up to try and quickly find pits. I did discover today that moving buildings is immediate which I absolutely love. I knew it was free, but I expected it to be a process that doesn't come into effect until the next day. I'm tempted to just build the buildings I want wherever on the farm and then move them around afterwards to see where I want to actually place them. I have been putting together a farm plan on Stardew Planner V3 but it doesn't show things like perimeter bushes (that can't be removed), hardwood stumps, or how things look close to the edges where in-game the map edge will cover on top of buildings rather than the buildings showing above it like the planner does. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - ShiraNoMai - May 2nd, 2024 Yeah, and I honestly think the Standard map in the planner is like, a tile or two inaccurate? There's a few things that don't line up when I'm trying to match them in game, and it throws me off a bit when trying to plan/place. Your layout is really pretty. The Forest layout makes it much easier to plan things out. Mine is largely a blank canvas so it's harder to work with IMO Here's what I've got so far: https://v3.stardew.info/planner/8-fresh-otters-snuggled-cordially 80% of it is already in my game. I need to move a few things around, and acquire my Junimo Hut, Slime Hutch and Horse Stable to be a complete match. RE: Stardew Valley | 1.6 Changelog - Moonface - May 4th, 2024 What part on the Standard Map isn't matching up on the planner for you? I've been trying to find it myself but I'm having no luck. My initial advice looking at your plan is to put an entrance to both barns on both sides rather than just down the middle. It'll save walking around past the barn closest to the house just to get into it. I don't know how animals work when it comes to finding their way back to their home building, but maybe consider using gates on the walls to keep the animals contained. I'm not sure if I'll bother with a Slime Hutch or the Junimo Huts. I go mining so much that I encounter slimes all the time to get their slime balls, and although the Junimo Hut is neat I don't really have the real estate to give space for it I think. Neither are required for Perfection though, so at least I don't have to find a spot for them. I managed to make it to the bottom of the Skull Cave the other day, and using bombs is absolutely the way to go. Cherry Bombs for small contained clusters of rocks, and regular Bombs for bigger areas of rocks makes it much faster and more likely to find ladders or holes. Even then, I had to warp to the Desert as soon as I woke up and it still took me until almost 1am in-game time to make it to Floor 100. At least all my attempts got me a huge amount of income from all the gems I sold. |
