RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - azalea - Feb 18th, 2026 this week is going to be busybusybusy! training some people at work this week on some stuff, and i've gotten some really positive feedback so far which is great! hopefully i can keep that energy going throughout the week but man, even though i've trained before, teaching is exhausting, still. takes the energy right out of you at the very end. @_@ RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Feb 22nd, 2026 Stayed over my Scrabble and walking friend's home for a few days, played Scrabble, did local block walks and using the newly placed outdoor gym every day I was there. Felt good doing exercises. Apparently there is one in my town at the town's main park my sister told me, so I have to check it out and see if it's worth using (not "claimed" by troublemakers or something like that). RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Feb 23rd, 2026 It's not been too bad: I did do some overtime in the evenings, but not all of them, since I ran out of stuff to do! So I have also had a few relaxing evenings, which I've used to play a variety of games (The Battle for Wesnoth, Railgrade, and Civilization VII). Also, I went out to my local board games group today, and played two games: Nefarious (a hand management game where you're a mad scientist racing to invent things as quickly as possible), and Tiger & Dragon (a trick-taking game loosely themed on karate, which I wasn't much good at, but enjoyed regardless!) There weren't any machines, nor would I expect any park to ever just install those because of maintenance and safety. I am currently on day 7 of working 8 days in a row, and I can not wait for Wednesday to just finally outright die and be reborn as a vegetable for a whole day.
RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Feb 26th, 2026 I haven't looked at my town's one yet, but used another one near my Dad's place as well as the the one I mentioned. Hmm, how should I describe it? They're more like an apparatus than a machine. They look like a playground for adults in a way, funnily enough. The one at my Dad's more so as it had like monkey bars to swing on, it's high up so you have to jump to grab hold then swing your body weight to the other side, plus a bloody high pull up bar I couldn't be arsed to do, I could do the monkey bars alright. Plus other things like a stationary pedal bike, rower, leg push (has a better name but can't remember), a surfer to train and which made me respect actual surfers more, some more, and my two favourites of lat pulls and chest press. I used those latter two a lot last week, and already noticed a significant difference from the chest press. Annoyingly having trouble sleeping all of a sudden, might be down to being back at work and not properly eating yesterday. Don't feel tired enough yet I should be. This week has been quieter on the work front, for the most part - although, I did start the next stage of that project yesterday, so I'm very busy with it once again. As a result, I'll be doing overtime again this evening! RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Moonface - Mar 5th, 2026 Woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine, couldn't get back to sleep from it, and have been suffering with it until now (so about 13+ hours) but I think it's finally gone? I've practically lost my entire day to it though so even though it's finally gone I'm not gonna really get to do much anyway.
RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Mar 6th, 2026 I woke up in the night on... Monday into Tuesday thanks to my cold, even after taking stuff for it and couldn't go back to sleep at 3an, had no work at least. Migraine sounds worse though to have that last and screw pretty much the rest of the day it happened on. (in general, know it was today). Frick my cold, it was a great day Monday prior too, sunny, I just stayed in though. Now I've got 3 shifts one my own, one was today and then the weekend. Yay. Well, the guy we finally got back to help us got into a ski accident, the other two are off. I swear our department is cursed or something when one or two of us are off.

It's been a long time since I had back-to-back days of that happen and I forgot how utterly horrible it is. x.x RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Mar 9th, 2026 (Mar 5th, 2026, 11:40 PM)Moonface Wrote: Wow, sorry to hear that . I do hope you're feeling better now! My week has been fine: I haven't had a massive amount to do at work, but just enough to not be bored. At the weekend, I saw the first race of the new F1 season, which is always interesting, to give us an idea of which team has built the best car for this year (right now it seems to be Mercedes, with Ferrari not far behind). Also, I went to my local board games group today, and played several games, my favourite of which was "Just One" (a co-operative party game where one play tries to guess a secret word, and the rest of the players give them clues to try and help them guess the word). It's not a particularly deep game, but it's good fun! RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Moonface - Mar 21st, 2026 @Kyng: Thanks. Alas, I had headaches/migraines quite a few more times since my last post and now, although they have lessened a little bit. Went to the Renaissance Fair today with some friends; was a nice time although my back started to ache from poor footwear combined with hard floors. There was a blacksmith doing a presentation that we caught which was really cool, plus we bought some stuff from him too. The wildest thing was him sharing that he once burned through his thumb to the bone with a glove on because he grabbed a piece of hot steel with his hand in a lapse of judgment and it burned through to him so quickly it killed the nerves in his thumb so he didn't even realize right away what had happened.
RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Kyng - Mar 27th, 2026 @Moonface Glad to hear the migraines are a bit less now, though I'm sorry to hear they haven't stopped altogether. The Renaissance fair sounds fun, though: I'm into historic stuff like that! Most of the past week has been spent recovering from a very poor night of sleep last Sunday (which was partly my own fault: I spent hours trying to solve a maths problem that was difficult, but felt like it ought to be solvable ). And by yesterday, I was feeling mostly better - but today, I had a very tough day at work, where I had two urgent bugs coming in. So now I'm pretty worn out - and I definitely need the weekend!
RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Maniakkid25 - Apr 6th, 2026 Uh, fuck today. Not because of what happened, but because of what is going to happen. My job decided to schedule me at 530 AM tomorrow... AFTER a 10 PM closing shift. So, at the absolute best, I'm going to be working with 6 hours of sleep, because screw me, I guess. I'll be honest, I am absolutely furious, because this shouldn't even be happening. My managers should have been able to do the basic FUCKING math to be able to figure out that this is not enough time between shifts, but this is Florida, so who gives a fuck about things like "basic human courtesy" or "coming to work at your best"! I'm honestly thinking of just staying up all night, and coming into work like that. If they're going to fuck me like this, why should I even attempt to get in there at my best? Fuck this bullshit. RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - Mr EliteL - Apr 6th, 2026 Yeah that absolutely sucks Maniak, completely screw that. No one should be scheduled like that and expected to have next to no downtime in between, pretty much. Ugh, my shift today on the bank holiday was alright, apart from the many jobs I couldn't even begin thanks to time restraints from doing other things. Again. Whatever. Visited my Dad Saturday with my sister which went relatively OK for what it could be until after we got home, my brother informed us he got reported to social services that happened on a previous day. Initially sounds bad, but it was a family that brought him home, because he decided to walk into town after missing a bus. The walk probably takes at least an hour or more from where he lives. *sigh* Just another thing added to the list of headaches for us. (we're getting by just about) RE: How Was Your Day/Week? - ShiraNoMai - Apr 7th, 2026 ??? Someone called social services on him... walking into a town? Did he look suspicious? I don't understand. He's not even being racially profiled. Was he drunk or something? I might be misremembering how social service reports work. It's good to hear the ups and downs in everyone's lives lately, so I thank y'all for checking in every now and then with something to say. Keeps my head on straight as I try and navigate this rapidly moving world at my own snail's pace. |
