Ooh dang, it's already that time of year again? I suppose it is. I actually failed in my attempt last year, ironically my monster truck caught fire before I could steal it, so I had to give up, no! I....have chosen not to try this time.

OK in seriousness it's a good thing the security has worked and the proper tradition has been allowed to stay up the past four years, so hope it can this time too. Well alright, I do also hope for an amusing story/method if the goat perishes as well.

Huh, apparently there was a second smaller goat according to the article, but that went down earlier. It's good the guy got caught and arrested for this one but darn, no mention of how they got it done.

Gee, it's sure not like this behaviour is encouraged by the challenge set of trying to attack the goat every year. I doubt this symbol would even be known if not for the infamy it has of various attempts on its straw life.

I know this thread is very old - but, I was reading about this goat again today, and I was quite amused by what happened to it last Christmas.

It didn't get burned this time. Instead, it became dinner for hungry jackdaws:

After it survived for five of the years from 2017-22 (2021 being the lone exception), I thought they were getting on top of this. But now, it looks like they have a new threat to deal with!

Ah the goat survived 22's season, but got partly ruined for 23's though not by humans this time. Easily overlooked I guess.

Well I'd read the article but it insists I sign up for their stupid newsletter to read it and they can get bent on that front.

Clearly the trick now is to just train animals to attack the goat, or serve as a distraction to make the people protecting the goat think the animals are a threat and then come in to take it out.


Also as a side reminder, there is no rule against posting in any thread regardless of how old it is so long as the post is contributing something.
