Here is a summary of all the news and announcements from the PlayStation Showcase 2021 event, as well as a video of the entire presentation if you missed it and wish to watch all the footage in its original format:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake | Announcement Trailer
The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has remained one of the most celebrated games ever made, and now players can celebrate all over again because the game is being completely remade from the ground up by developer Aspyr, who will be using the latest tech to match the groundbreaking standard of innovation established by the original, all while staying true to its revered story.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake will be a console launch exclusive for PlayStation 5.
Project Eve | Discussion Thread
In the not-too-distant future, mankind is expelled from Earth after losing the battle against the invaders called the NA:tives. To win back Earth, the player becomes Eve, the survivor of the paratrooper squad deployed from the Colony, who must fight through powerful enemies with new comrades throughout an adventure in the face of unknown creatures on a desolate, destroyed Earth. As you accompany Eve throughout the game, you get one step closer to the secret hidden in this unusual world. Combat in Eve is deliberate – including attack, defense, and evasion – while remaining fluid and zestful. The only way to survive is to grasp the attack patterns of various enemies and counter with precise timing.
Project Eve will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands | Gameplay Trailer
See wassup in this new gameplay trailer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, a game set in the Borderlands universe set shortly after the events of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2, but unlike Borderlands, this game takes place in a high-fantasy setting. It's got everything you know and love from Borderlands gameplay, but with the added fun of magic and melee weapons!
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be available on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Microsoft Windows.
Forspoken | Story Trailer
Frey is a directionless, gritty yet street smart young woman who has persevered despite her rough upbringing in New York City. And her life hasn’t really gotten any easier now that she’s about to turn 21. Things take a turn for the unexpected when she’s magically transported to Athia, a land where fantasies and nightmares are suddenly very real. Check out the story trailer to get a more in-depth look at who she is and what she'll be up against in Forspoken, which is being produced by Square Enix and Luminous Productions.
Forspoken will be released in Spring 2022.
Rainbow Six: Extraction | Trailer
For decades, Team Rainbow has been the shield against the worst global threats imaginable: hostage situations, biological weapons, the threat of nuclear war. But now, we face the greatest terror our world has ever known: a lethal, mutating alien threat.
Rainbow Six: Extraction will be available on January 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and PC.
Alan Wake Remastered | Announcement Trailer
Play as troubled author Alan Wake, who goes on a desparate search for his missing photographer wife, Alice. The sleepy Pacific Northwestern town of Bright Falls isn't what it seems. A malevolent presence lurks in the dark, and a horror story Alan doesn't remember writing is coming true.
Experience improved visuals, enhanced character models & richer environmental details in a remaster of Remedy Entertainment’s classic game. Alan Wake Remastered includes the main game and its two story expansions - The Signal and The Writer - with the complete experience rendered in all-new 4K visuals.
Alan Wake Remastered will be available on October 5, 2021.
Grand Theft Auto V | PS5 Trailer
Experience the world of Grand Theft Auto V in brand new ways when GTA V and GTA Online come to PlayStation 5 in March 2022.
Ghostwire: Tokyo | Discussion Thread
Face the unknown as you awaken in an abandoned street crossing as Tokyo’s population disappears, without a clue as to where they’ve gone or why. There’s no time to question why you’ve been spared as otherworldly Visitors attack the city, seemingly led by a masked man known as Hannya and his acolytes. Explore the haunted city and hone your own ethereal abilities as you face the unknown and uncover the truth in Ghostwire: Tokyo, available in Spring 2022.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy | Story Trailer
According to the current video description by PlayStation, this is a tropical open world adventure where you can climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat around a beautiful archipelago in this physics-driven sandbox. (They put the Tchia game description onto this video lol). Perhaps that can be a pitch for a Guardians of the Galaxy themed episode in Marvel's What If...? show.
Blunders aside, see what the Guardians will be up against in the story of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, available on October 26, 2021.
Bloodhunt | Gameplay Trailer
Join the Bloodhunt and become the ultimate vampire! Bloodhunt is a free battle royale game set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. A treacherous betrayal has stirred a war amongst the vampires, who are also being targeted for annihilation by a secret society known as the Entity. Use your supernatural powers, weapons and wits in this thrilling battle royale game to dominate the night and restore the Masquerade.
Deathloop | Story Trailer
"Blackreef is a mystery, and Colt is looking for answers. Who are the Visionaries? What is Blackreef? How does the timeloop work? Why does everyone on the island have amnesia? Why is Julianna always lurking behind the nearest corner ready to ambush Colt? Most importantly, Colt wants to know: “Who am I?”
The deeper Colt goes down the rabbit hole, the more questions arise. One thing is for sure, Colt is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and break the timeloop—no matter what answers he finds.
Deathloop will release on September 14, 2021 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Kid A Mnesia Exhibition | Announcement Trailer
An upside-down digital/analogue universe created from original artwork and recordings to commemorate 21 years of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac. Coming in November 2021.
Tchia | Announcement Trailer
A game inspired by New Caledonia, embark on a tropical open-world adventure as Tchia and climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat around a beautiful archipelago in this physics-driven sandbox. Use Tchia's Soul Jumping ability to take control of any animal or object you can find, and Jam on your fully playable Ukulele.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection | Announcement Trailer

Marvel's Wolverine | Announcement Trailer
Marvel’s Wolverine is currently in development by Insomniac Games for PlayStation 5.
Gran Turismo 7 | Announcement Trailer
The future of The Real Driving Simulator is just around the corner, as Gran Turismo 7 will launch on March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 | Discussion Thread
The next instalment in Insomniac Games' Spider-Man series has officially been announced, and judging by the trailer it looks like both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be facing off against Venom!
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled for a 2023 release.

This was a very decent showing. Well paced and honestly thought many times it would end and it didn't. Insomniac with the double project announcement, finally showing off Ragnarok beyond a logo, lots of remasters and spin offs. Fairly decent. Nothing mind blowing but it's a fair show. If they showed this at E3, it'd get a passing grade for sure

Forspoken looks like it's right up my alley but, man, Square Enix always disappoints me whenever I'm actually interested. Very few times have they pulled through.
Otherwise, yeah I definitely want Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine. Was always a fan of his while growing up. God of War is always HYPE. I never got to try Alan Wake so definitely want that. and finally, Ghostwire might be interesting but I'll wait on that one honestly

Great start, but quickly turned to crap. Too much Marvel garbage. Too much time showing us footage of the Marvel garbage that we've already seen. Way too much time spent on that Gran Turismo trailer. With how good this started, I was expecting to be hyped out of my pants the entire way, but everything went straight to doodoo after Forspoken, except the God of War trailer at the end there.
My takes on the showcase:
The Best: PROJECT EVE! Holy shit this game looks awesome! Obviously takes a lot of inspiration with other kickass action games, like NieR Automata. You got the little companion like the Pod from Automata, you got a hot waifu to play as like in Automata, and Eve has great assets like 2B from Automata. Have mercy.
The good: Tiny Tina's Wonderland continues to look really promising. I love the mixture of Borderlands whacky gun gameplay with more traditional RPG shit like melee weapons and magic. Think this could turn out to be a pretty fun experience.
The potential, but could also be absolute shit: Forspoken. Game looks like it has potential to be something decent, but I don't trust Square Enix enough to actually make it decent. Plus the footage we've seen so far looks average at best, aside from the graphics. This is definitely a wait and see what people have to say about it after release kind of game.
The looks good, but I haven't played the game before it so I can't say too much yet: God of War: Ragnarok. Looks just as good as God of War did, but I've yet to play God of War, so I have to catch up before I can get too excited about this. However, I heard that God of War ran pretty spectacularly for a PS4 game, so I'm very excited to see how this one is going to be able to perform on the PS5.
In the end, Project Eve definitely stole the show for me and made this worth watching. I cannot wait to get my hands on that booty game.

My biggest problem with Forspoken was how the main character was presented. A lot of her lines were just...ugh. It felt like such unnatural dialogue and gave me a feeling of the sort of dialogue writing I'd expect to see in a novice fan fic.
Project Eve was the best game shown that wasn't a first party title, and I forgot that it was actually first announced two years ago.
The overall show was solid in terms of presentation style but definitely had a weak middle. I'll be happy to not see Deathloop in another presentation because I'm tired of seeing it at every Sony presentation.

Take out all the Marvel and put in some actually hype announcements and it could have been great. I know I jokingly said Bloodborne 2, but man, if they actually did announce that, everyone would have lost their shit. Although the fact that nearly every developer at Sony who worked alongside Fromsoft for Bloodborne has left, I think the chances of ever seeing BB2 are very low. Even if we do get it eventually, who knows how good it'll be with a lot of the core BB members gone now (though Fromsoft would hopefully save it from being a disaster).
The Marvel stuff is just killing me though. Like first we get a huge bloat of Marvel movies and now we're getting bloated with Marvel games. It's like the Zombie phase all over again, and it's turning out to be just as boring and stale as it was. If they didn't spend so much time showing us THE SAME FOOTAGE EVERY SINGLE EVENT, maybe it wouldn't be as irritating, but god damn guys.
Hopefully we get some news on some neat games coming out of Japan for PS5 during Tokyo Game Show.

Was it just the Guardians stuff that killed you DL? I get there was still a lot of Marvel stuff overall but besides that one the rest were new announcements at least.
I'm surprised Elden Ring didn't turn up given that the recent previews for it were restricted to text only. I'd have thought that meant the footage was being saved and may have shown up for this event, especially since raw gameplay hasn't been shown off yet.
Another game I really expected to see was whatever the new Crash Bandicoot thing is going to be. Toys 4 Bob have been putting out teasers a lot over the past few days, and even the sizzle reel at the beginning of this showcase features a teaser to the new Crash game. It's strange that the event referenced the game and yet never actually mentioned it directly.

Completely missed this, Genshin was more important to me but checked out a few trailers today that I wasn't sure what it could be and only Eve grabbed my full absolute attention. Forspoken I agree has kind of potential, the combat looked pretty good but story/characters wasn't doing it for me from the get-go. I did have interest in Guardians when it was featured before, and yeah that trailer was too much and this one did add more promise I guess, however unfortunately doesn't make my must-have list. Don't think Marvel games are truly for me in the end, because if a Deadpool videogame (my favourite Marvel character) is still unfinished by me means another might join that horrible bundle of games I've left to gather dust, oh noes! I'll leave Guardians in a maybe list though, possibly.
Uncharted getting remasters for the two most recent games is cool, but not worth it for me personally. I'll keep them for my PS4, but thanks. PC/Steam gamers getting them finally is nice of them though.

It'll probably happen eventually to drum up sales for the sequel and push people to checking out Miles Morales too, and would be a good way to see if a Marvel game can grab you without spending money for it. Either that or I can give you my copy to try if I end up getting a PS5 copy that bundles the DLC and Miles Morales into it.
Marvel's Wolverine might be an M rated game too. Despite the trailer not containing anything worthy of an M rating, you have to declare your age as 18+ if you want to view the trailer on the PS Blog.

@ Moonface I'm not remotely interested in the (new) Spider-Man games though, sure they look awesome when I've seen videos of the first game. I do/did have very little interest in this Guardians game though, that's why I brought it up. I've played Marvel Alliance and Alliance 2, but that was co-op with my brother and sister, and have Deadpool, those are the only Marvel games I've played. Except for MvC3 but that's a fighter and I got bored of that, mainly because of Ultimate MvC3 coming out.
Huh, so there is a proper trailer for the Wolverine game. Might look at it tomorrow, but that I also doubt I'll be in to.

What's turning you off them? Just the concept of playing Marvel games, or you're not a fan of the Spiderman franchise/character?

Think it really boils down to the Marvel characters being portrayed in many many different ways, and I'd rather play/watch something I'm less familiar with and new. I'm not an expert on Marvel/Spiderman but there's been so much made for them out there, it's too much. I'm happy to pick a few things here and there from the entire, full, Marvel Universe like some films, an odd video game, board game, a few Deadpool comics...then I don't want invest in any more. Guardians game is kind of different, I know there's comics of them but I've only seen the MCU iterations and that's only Infinity War, Endgame and parts of Vol 1 and Vol 2, yep. If I do get this game, it'll likely be the only thing I buy with them in it. Probably wouldn't call myself a proper Marvel fan but merely like a few things they've done.
