I'd just like to quickly point out that Honkai Star Rail is actually a turn-based RPG, and not action RPG.

Anyways, other than the new stuff for Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero (hoping to get into the closed beta for this one, missed out on the Star Rail second one), there's nothing here of any interest to me. I couldn't even find anything online about any of this stuff except for the Last of Us Remake (yawn) and the Honkai and ZZZ stuff. Tells you how bad SGF was, kek.

That's probably because Soul Hackers was first teased in a survey Atlus did a month or two back, so no one is saying anything because it was already known. And yes, I am very excited about it, and you can bite me if you want to tell me otherwise.

I think most of the games here were already announced prior, so a lot of them wouldn't break headlines when it's just new trailers.

Overall the show was put together well, even if looking at it a lot of games weren't my cup of tea. The only absolutely awful part of the whole show was when The Rock showed up and babbled on for too long about a million things.

Did see the entire thing live, watching alongside a streamer (Maximilian Dood). Yeah The Rock part was awful, actually thought he was meant to be in a game, but nah blabbering on and promoting Black Adam. Eh. Also after SF6 was shown at the start it was almost an endless string of the same type of game almost that got tiring to sit through. Was good at the first game, Dark Decent, then oh a much more gorier than Aliens space game, then great CoD so not interested in that, then oh another shooter/space games (OK Flashback was in between them). Yeah I get a bit hypocritical by saying Star Rail got me finally interested in a space themed game out of the rest that was shown, not fully sure if I want to play that or Zenless yet. Thought Soul Hackers would be up a certain someone's alley on here. XD

Anyway the game that stood out to me was Shredder's Revenge though, yeah I did know about it before but I used to play beat 'em ups, namely The Simpsons and I think I played a TMNT one too on an old PC when we access to a bunch of arcade games (that I don't have anymore). So I might pick this up. 6 players and Casey joins the roster, nice! Even though I won't ever have 6 players to play with. XD

So far only 3 games interested me; The Callisto Protocol, Honkai: Star Rail, & Zenless Zone Zero. Everything else just wasn't my jam. DreamCastGuy and RGT 85 were not impressed with the Summer Game Fest announcements. I know I wasn't but I'm also not into shooters. I do want to see more of that horror game as I want to see some game play for before I decide if I want it or not. *shrug* Though I am a bit worried that the games that are releasing through miHoYo might be freemium games. I think this tweet summarizes the games shown in this quite well:

@Dragon Lord: Forgot to address this before but my bad on the wrong genre. I grabbed the genre from IGN which says it all. Tongue

@queenzelda: Likely those MiHoYo games will be similar to Genshin and their other games, which (I think) are all free to play but offer a lot of things that can be attained with money (not necessarily solely with money but the money notably helps).

I tried this out last night and hot damn it's so much fun! My only gripe with the demo is once you get the dual pistols no other weapon feels worth using because they're slower and require you to be at close range, so you spend too much time not doing actions to the beat.

I saw Shredder's Revenge is reviewing ridiculously well too, although I don't know if I want the game or not since I've never really touched the genre that it sits in.

Strike terror into the hearts of demons and devils as you fight your way through eight Hells. Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm FPS, brimming with diabolical enemies, powerful weapons, and metal music. Set out on an infernal journey in order to achieve the purest of goals: Vengeance.

Metal: Hellsinger releases on September 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and a free demo is available now on all of those platforms.

It is? Cool. Grin Also untrue sort of in that you haven't touched the genre. Think Tekken Force from Tekken 3, and you get the gist of Beat 'em up. Specifically T3 as it's the side-scrolling type which is similar to Shredder's Revenge.

True, I forgot about that because of it being a minigame.
The game does come off as being rather short though; I've seen multiple streamers play it and they get through all the episodes rather fast. I assume that's how the genre works although I wonder what the replay value is besides just doing it with a different character every time. Hmm

Since it was announced in this event I'll share something amusing about Goat Simulator 3 here rather than General Game Chat:

So myself and many others were questioning when Goat Simulator 2 came out. Turns out it doesn't exist, and the developers said they wouldn't make a GS2 and to stick by that, just skipped straight to naming the sequel GS3 instead. ROFL
This would be like Valve leaning into the "can't count to 3" joke by naming their next games Portal 4 and Half Life 4 and never letting any of their games exist with a 3 in the name. XD
