When that trailer was playing I kept thinking "Man this really reminds me of No More Heroes" and then at the end when Suda51's name appears it all made sense. ROFL

An okay SoP overall, although for me somewhat forgettable too.

One trailer that did feel off to me was the 007 one. Bond just looks I dunno, too young, too cocky? Just something gives off a vibe that doesn't make me look at him and think "Yeah that's a James Bond". Hmm

Not mentioned in the SoP that I just came across, Digimon Story Time Stranger will have the following game editions:

Nah I just had to after realising that...character's name is Nate. XD

I'll leave now.

Actually I'll stay briefly for the rest of the SoP, even though I don't have much.

I did watch State of Play sort of live whilst playing and getting ready for bed but having the stream on, although it was watching alongside Maximilian Dood's stream. There wasn't anything I was bound to be interested in getting but I did like seeing the Digimon game get an appearance here, FF Tactics looks good. Arc Systems getting to do a Marvel fighting game was a bit out of left field, but quite deserved as they have been doing quite well with their Guilty Gear games, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Dragon Ball Fighters and the other fighters they do. Maximilian was getting really hyped up during that part which was fun to see how happy he was. They would've blown everyone away if there was a Street Fighter/Capcom character randomly jump to signify a new MvC fighter, even though there was Infinite (which didn't do well to my understanding), the next game was going to be MvC4 and as they're making a FOUR vs FOUR fighter, it was right there for the taking, but alas they needed Capcom's approval among other things to make that become true. Still, being Marvel and they could always include some of their own characters join the roster like Sol Badguy, or whoever else could be a possibility, but I hope the game does well in the FGC regardless.

Very minor note: The physical Ultimate Edition of Digimon Story Time Stranger also comes with a Digimon collectible card (The picutre used is of Aegiomon, but its possible it could be from the set of 4 in the Collector's Edition). It's on the store, anyway.

Also, the Ultimate Edition is $120 (?!) and the Collector's Edition is $200 (!?), so that's wonderful.

...Yeah, I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition. I wanted the cards >.=.>

Weird, because I took the details from the official website that listed the contents so I wonder why that was missing from the description? Hmm

It might have just copy pasted the Digital Ultimate Edition's stuff, and forgot the card was in the physical version. That's my best guess, anyway.

I didn't click the link in your previous post before, but I took the info from here rather than the store website. Funny the official site missed the info about the card but the store page doesn't. LOL

...Wait, how the hell did I miss this?

  • Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection | Trailer
Featuring over 20 different versions of the legendary games – arcade, console, and handheld – Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection includes  Mortal Kombat 1 through 4, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Advance [emphasis mine], and more, reviving the series’ early years with modern enhancements and online play using rollback netcode.
    • Release Date: 2025

W-who was asking for this? No, legitimately: who was asking for this?!

Okay, for those unaware, Mortal Kombat Advance is the WORST reviewed Mortal Kombat fighting game game ever released (Mortal Kombat Special Forces reviewed worse, but it was not a fighting game). It is not infrequently mentioned as among the worst games ever made. The game is a GBA port of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 -- a feat that the GBA could have easily done given that it came out on the SNES and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive 5 YEARS BEFORE HAND -- but was made extremely haphazardly and is widely regarded as one of the worst ports of not just this game, but of any game ever. So, again, I have to ask: WHO WAS ASKING FOR THIS?! There's preserving your history, and then there's just dicking around! Next thing you know, you're gonna tell me Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero is on this collection!

LMAO

So the current list of games for that collection are:
  • Mortal Kombat
  • Mortal Kombat 2
  • Mortal Kombat 3
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
  • Mortal Kombat 4
  • Mortal Kombat Advance
  • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
  • Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition
That makes 8/20+ games confirmed, and if I were to start counting from the first game, then the 20th Mortal Kombat game is Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection from 2011. I doubt much, if anything, from after 2012 would be included because that was when the series moved onto PS4/XBO, so there's a high chance that literally every game up until 2012 would be in this which would include Mythologies Sub-Zero. Oh, even better, Deadly Alliance and Tournament Edition are also GBA games (Deadly Alliance has a console version, but it has not yet been announced for the collection), not console or arcade. Now granted, the other two Mortal Kombat GBA games are at least decent. Saying that they are vastly superior to MKA is such a low bar to clear, they do not get points for that, but they are still solid games in their own right. It's just MKA that raises eyebrows for me.

I'm only asking because I'm unsure even though this feels stupid to have clarified, but the underlined part is just to point out the platform of those games and not questioning their inclusion for not being console or arcade right? Sweat

A little bit of both, tbh. It seems strange that they would announce the GBA version of Deadly Alliance without saying the console version would also be there. That being said, I'm not claiming the GBA version is bad. It's just confusing.

Hmm, so I didn't really notice the first time I saw the list of games that I put in my earlier post that apparently it isn't just a singular version of each game in the collection. For example, Mortal Kombat has the Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Gear versions. So I guess that drastically cuts down the amount of actually different entries the collection will have, as if it's going by versions then currently 19/20+ have been announced.

On the bright side, I learned the game has an interactive documentary included and I really hope it covers Advance because I just wanna see what they have to say about it. ROFL

Yeah I got no clue what they were thinking with that collection of MK games, I mean surely you'd just stick with the best version of that time period or if it was a later/better update pre-2012. I mean are die-hard fans really going to spend so much time going through different versions of the same game from different consoles....agh, perhaps they will. That's just a headache for me. XD
