Well.. Kind of. Let me explain. When ever you start to battle with Luigi your supposed to hit the B button then attack originally. But now its all the A button to start an attack then you hit the B button to start the Luigi one. Which throws me off a lot when doing attacks and is sort or: weird impo.
Still at least the gameplay has been awesome and the story has been very interesting. Still no spoilers from me since I'm only a few islands in atmo. :3

It's pretty good so far. There is an area where you have to do a rhythm-based puzzle and (impo) it was kinda hard (for me) but I did get through it. But for what I've played of it, I've enjoyed it. Usually with Mario & Luigi rpg games getting them on sale in the store is impossible. But if you find it for sale out in the wild physically then do it.

I've been torn on whether to get the game anytime soon or not just from the mixed responses I've seen about the game from reviewers and streamers. I haven't seen much of the game myself though when usually I'd try to view a good amount of it to see for myself firsthand somewhat if anything about it is a deal breaker for me, since words only go so far for some stuff when it just gives a broad stroke like "performance issues".
That said, I did happen to catch this moment last night from the main Twitch streamer I watch right as I came home that's too good not to share (it is somewhat late into the story but it doesn't spoil anything):

I still haven't got Brothership, don't know when I will, but I still don't particularly want to watch anything that is in the game outside of what I've seen from trailers and such.
I don't doubt those two moments are worth a watch though, so might see them another time.

My complaint with this game is about the TERRIBLE loading times. Also the fact that after a certain point your MADE to use all of these bro moves I was just given and are made to use against some enemies to defeat all of them at once or they just keep coming back over and over again. So when one group is defeated another replaces it with the same d*mn mechanic of having to defeat them all: again. <_< Which is my complaint, since I can't do the new bro moves very well. I feel it's kind of dumb they make you use these new mechanics to defeat all these monsters like I should know what I'm doing; and I don't really. The only thing I've been doing is grinding for lvls and seeing if I can get them powerful enough to take these monsters out with just attacks with other stuff I can't talk about cause spoilers. In the end. it's still frustrating anyway.: impo.

Yeah, I've seen a load time for the game that was so bad the person playing thought their game had crashed at first. Seems like bad optimization for this game to have long load times when comparing the visuals and level designs to other Switch titles.
I just saw this article from VGC reporting that the developer for Brothership wanted a different visual style for the game but Nintendo told them no because it wouldn't match the previous M&L games:
VGC Wrote:Acquire, the studio behind Mario & Luigi: Brothership, says it originally wanted to give Mario an edgier look but Nintendo wasn't convinced.
In a new Ask the Developer interview on the official Nintendo website, Acquire designer Hitomi Furuta explained how she had originally designed Mario to look different to how he had in the past, but that Nintendo suggested it wouldn't fit the art style of the previous Mario & Luigi games.
"Our challenge was to develop 3D visuals that would bring out the unique appeal of the Mario & Luigi series and differentiate it from other Mario games," Furuta said. "I'm ashamed to say it, but we weren't conscious of that when development started, which led to us making a huge detour.
"And in our search for a new Mario & Luigi style, at one point we ended up trying to present an edgier, more rugged Mario instead," she laughed. "Then we received feedback from Nintendo that we should aim to make the art direction identifiable by fans as belonging to the Mario & Luigi series.
Nintendo producer Akira Otani added that from Nintendo's point of view, Acquire's character designs didn't feel like Mario and instead "gave the impression of something different that just resembled Mario, so we called for a meeting in order to reassess the direction".
"While we wanted Acquire to have their own unique style, we also wanted them to preserve what defines Mario," he explained. "I think it was a period when we were experimenting with how those two things could coexist."
Haruyuki Ohashi, the game's director at Acquire, added: "We had a strong desire to experiment with new visual styles, but [Nintendo] articulated their vision to us each time in a way that we found convincing."
"Yeah," Nintendo's Otani laughed. "It's like we'd unleashed Acquire into the wild, only to go chasing after them again."
I get Nintendo's reasoning for not wanting this art style, but I'd like to see more artwork for a Mario game with this style because it doesn't look bad I think:

I don't mind that style, wouldn't have minded watching them getting dirtier and torn up from adventuring about, then get them to change into cleaner clothes, pretty much the same look or different even, to do it all again.
It's not awful they were told not to go through with it, just wish Nintendo could've been a little more supportive in their creative freedom I mean it's still just Mario & Luigi anyway.

If anything I'd like it to be brought over to the Paper Mario series. I think it'd fit in quite well if Mario could get crumpled up and torn up a little based on his current HP.

Honestly since I doubt, I'll be able to beat this game due to a game mechanic I can't figure out this is the last time I'm getting a Mario & Luigi game. I wanted to see where the story goes but since I'm perma-stuck it's just not happening. smh Oh well, impo Nintendo should have just let the series die. More so since I heard PlayStation bought the studio anyway.
