Yes. I bought some Chocolate, and a set of salt and pepper shakers from Disneyland Paris (20 EUROS?!). My mom collects them, so I bought her a Christmas gift early. Yay.

And does your mum collect Disney salt and pepper shakers specifically or just any salt and pepper shakers that she likes the look of regardless of theme?

My mom just collects salt and pepper shakers in general. So, when I'm out of ideas, I usually buy those. ...I'm usually out of ideas very frequently.

I can sympathize with this. When it comes to gift buying I'm really bad at it, especially because doing that wasn't really a thing in my parents house.

Although you probably didn't do any driving yourself while there, I'm still curious what your thoughts were on the roads/traffic/cars in France compared to the US?

Tight. We were driving a lot of back roads and stuff, and they were consistently just as tight as could be. Especially parking, though. I'm just amazed we got through it without damaging one of the cars. And no, I did not do any driving. I'm not confident on my driving on American roads; you think I have the balls to drive on European ones?!

This matches my experience with English roads, so I'm convinced they're all like that in Europe

Haha, I haven't been in a car in France since I was 8 so I barely remember how it was (nor really paid attention at that age) but it doesn't surprise me to hear it sounds very similar to the roads in England in terms of size. The greatest fun with those road widths though is when you have a bus or truck coming the opposite way down the road and you both have to go up onto the sidewalk or something to actually make it past each other unscathed.

Are there any other European countries you'd be interested to visit either by yourself and/or with your DnD group/someone else?

Not me, personally. One of the guys is threatening to bring us to Slovenia (his home country), but that won't be for a few years yet, if it ever happens. With the way the world is going, it might just not be possible...

I don't really follow world news a lot but Slovenia doesn't seem to be near the Russia/Ukraine situation and it being an EU member makes it sound pretty secure anyway, so I'm a little unsure what events in the world would affect going to it. Unless I'm just overlooking something more obvious like affordability to travel there from the US or something like that?

I think Maniak just means in general, not necessarily being in the Slovenia area. I mean historically, that area of the world has had some issues but nothing out of the normal level of political unrest seen across the world at the moment.

Personally, I would wish to escape to an unclaimed territory in a different galaxy. Or maybe we can just return to stardust. Both sound good.

This feels like an ironic question to ask in light of the "world ending" tone in here, but a streamer I watch recently got asked by a viewer to play a game called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey and when I looked it up on Steam to see if people think the game is as bad as it looked to me, I saw that it said you own the game.

So I'm curious, have you ever played it or do you just own it?

Nope, just own it. If I recall correctly (at work right now, so can't really check), it's in my "This was probably a mistake..." folder, for games that are questionable in quality that I own. It hosts such hit games as Hunt Down the Freeman, Brigand: Oaxaca, and Daikatana.

Just looked those three games up, and I'm wondering how "Hunt Down the Freeman" didn't get pulled by Valve for just using Half Life assets. o.o
Brigand gets a 0/10 for being authentically set in Mexico. Where's the sepia filter?
Best I can give for Daikatana is a poor Tekken joke because of Kage Mishima.

I will say Ancestors at least gets credit for having a unique idea I've not really seen games try to do. I've been watching more of it and I think it was just too ambitious an idea for the studio that came up with it to execute to its fullest potential.
