Death Stranding

Death Stranding is a KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS video game that originally released on the PS4 & is slated to release to PC on June 2nd.

Death Stranding is a game about Sam Porter Bridges & the connections he makes while making mail deliveries as a proud papa who adopted a child while on one of his mail runs. (Yea, that's what I'm going with cause it makes about as much sense as the game does.)

As you play you build his world & help others while playing. What connections will you make?

Did you play this at all queen, or intend to? I had interest in the lore, but in the end just stopped caring after the amount of dragging out the PR did plus the end result didn't seem very appealing to me.

I watched 2 different streamers play it so I could see if I was interested in getting it. Thus why I'm very interstsd in playing Death Stranding,  I wasn't interested in playing on the PS4 as I just didn't wwnt to pay to play it online. But once it was announced to release to pc I made plans to get it there instead.

I blame the pr department for not knowing what kind of game Death Stranding even is. I think of it as a puzzle stacker, with a side of Yoshi's Island where Yoshi protects Mario: except Yoshi is Sam. You get to choose how you play the game & everyone has a different play style so not one person will play the game the same.

I'd blame the PR department but they may have not been told by Kojima what the game was aimed to be. Even Kojima never gave a solid answer, the best we got was "It's a new thing called strand-genre", which tells everyone jack shit. No PR department could've done something good with that sort of obscure description.

True, but tbh I doubt even Kojima knew what he'd made tbh. XD Still it's Kojima & from how I've heard it his games are good for story but kinda in an effed up way. Which I'm very fine with. lol

Do you plan to play any of the game on your stream?

Yes, but the time it releases I should have a good enough PC to be able to stream it from. (Even if I don't I could still get the PS4 version, about a month of PSN+ & stream it from my PS4 Pro. :3)

You mean you don't want to play UPS Simulator 2019, the best game ever created and surefire GOTY 2019 that totally didn't get its ass royally handed to it at the Game Awards?

As for your point about the terrible PR, it's no surprise. Kojima is a mediocre game dev who has been so horribly overrated by his rabid fanboys that he thinks he can crap out anything and have people eat it out of his hand without question. Which sadly is mostly true. My favorite part about all of it was when the game didn't get as well received as he expected, and in his arrogance, blamed the North American fanbase for not being artistic enough to see what a flawless masterpiece he had created. So I'm sure he probably didn't care a whole lot about the PR side of things because of that arrogance he's developed.

I just want to play it because I tend to play weird video games from time to time. This won't be my first rodeo. But it will be my first Kojima game I've ever played, so I can't claim to even be a fan at best. Just interested in where the strange story takes me.

I'm a Kojima fan, just not hard core enough for Death Stranding. I have been curious about the pc release & seeing photo mode added looks like crazy fun to mess with while playing the game.

A lot of people call Death Stranding a walking simulator. And while they aren't exactly wrong. It's much more than that. Death Stranding is an odd yet weirdly satisfying game that I definitely need to get back into.
