Yeah that seems frustrating. Suppose you're left with no other option than to just render and hope for the best. Luckily, that doesn't include upload, so at least you won't have to wait quite as long.

I can't decide what I want to do tomorrow. Many things to do, but which one (or two) will actually happen? Or nothing at all? The joy of Sunday!

This job is going to kill me...

I have to work the day shift for training for the next two weeks, and all the shifts are 9-5 (with one 9-4 and one 10-6 mixed in there). Now, while the hours themselves aren't the problem (I worked 10 hour shifts at previous jobs multiple times), it's the fact that I have to get up at like 7 AM every morning so I have enough time to wake up a little bit, get ready, and then drive the 30 minutes to work to be there at 9.

Now for any normal human being this isn't a problem, but for someone like me who craves staying up into the wee hours of the night and sleeping until late in the afternoon, this makes for a very hellish two weeks. Pray for my poor, unfortunate, having to wake up at a time that normal human beings wake up for once soul.

Okay, dramatics aside, this really will be a rough two weeks for me, haha. I mean, I knew it was coming beforehand, but now that I actually have to be up that early and shit, I'm just in eternal inner suffering.

And of course it had to start right when Inazuma released in Genshin, so I've had hardly any time to play it and make any progress. Plus IDOLM@STER collab just started in Azur Lane and new event coming up in Arknights. Pain peko.

At least I was able to be secure the 28th off so that I could have the entire day to binge play NieR Reincarnation when it releases that day lel

On the bright side, I get free coffee/cappuccino the entire time I'm working! If only I drank coffee though and if cappuccino didn't run such a high risk of upsetting my stomach. Sadge.

How many days do you have to be in for though? Is it just three days a week since I recall you said that would be the number you'd work for the night shift, and I also can't believe there's enough training to cover what would be more than 50 hours if you were doing six 10 hour shifts.

This would be fine if I ever had this exact problem with Part 1, which I did not! I've tried reinstalling, I've tried all the lag reduction tips online, and I can't get it working! This won't affect the final product, but it does mean that I won't really know how it looks and sounds until I finish and render the bastard!

Is there anything different about this part compared to other videos you've worked on? Maybe it's related to length or file size? Obviously I don't know and you've probably considered those factors, but I'm just trying to think what would cause it when you've never had it before. XD


Speaking of annoying things, had yet another Sunday of waking with a migraine, of which yesterdays was probably the worst I've had in recent memory. Thought I was fine today but out of nowhere my head suddenly hurt a couple of hours ago and so I went to bed to lay down for a bit and take a small nap, and now it's almost three hours later.

Yeah, nope; I actually loaded the old part 1, and while it had small drops, it stayed at around 25 fps minimum. I've tried changing the preview quality, I've tried changing the scan from interlaced to progressive and back, I've tried all the lag reduction methods I could find, I've tried changing the project frame rate (Some of my clips are at 29.97 fps, others at 30 [don't ask]). I've even tried bumping the priority from task manager. Nothing! It's REALLY pissing me off! Fortunately, this is ONLY for the preview. I've had this happen on my old computer, too, and when I've rendered the video, everything was running at the proper rate. So, it'll work out, but it's REALLY annoying!

I don't know why, but your problem of "what you see isn't what you get" reminded me of something I read about Pokemon this morning where in Gen 1 if a Pokemon had two types and you were super/not effective against one but not the other, the game wouldn't state that effectiveness when you attacked but the damage would be as if it was effective (or something like that, I might be remembering wrong). XD

No that's right, it was programmed correctly in that the attack becomes neutral (1x effective) but the message it displayed was chosen between either "super" or "not very" effective, randomly decided on which type it wanted to choose the message from. So luckily it's just a wrong alert message and what you expect to happen actually happens.

So hopefully in Maniak's case, that happens, where it's displaying the wrong FPS in preview, but in reality it's actually perfectly fine!

This has been such a strange week. First week since going back to the office that I stayed home for 90% of it. My PC at work has a busted graphics card, and the screw holding my card to the tower is stripped, so I can't remove it to replace it. Been waiting on someone to bring tools in to remove it so I can test another GPU that's in the office currently.

Eh, not sure the daily schedule thing would've helped me for yesterday. At best it would've kept me busy but I did that last night and it didn't exactly make me feel better. XD

Gotta love watching Disney squirm like the worms they are.

Should be a good weekend, staying over my friend's place again for 3 or 4 days, got another but a full week this time. Got to get some good outdoor activities done when the good weather is about. Well when I say that, climate change screwing it over messes it all up anyway. Two weeks in one go would've been better like a proper holiday but all know there's fat chance of that happening with the world still in chaos with you know what. Speaking of, work was fun with 30 people leaving or have left, plus others still getting picked up by the app to isolate at stupid times. Highly doubt the 30 people's places will be filled, more like 5 new people expected to doe everything with remaining colleagues helping whenever they can like I had to today, twice. Hoorah. I expect things to be in shambles or still in the same place when I return to work the Monday after.

That's awesome. It's nice to see Disney's "we can get away with whatever the hell we want" attitude finally come back to bite them in the ass.

I also found out yesterday that Warner Bros had actually paid out $150 million to Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Gal Gadot for the same reasons. However, instead of trying to hide it and it having to go to a courtroom, Warner Bros. decided to do the right think and pay those actors/actress the money they would have made from theatre revenue anyways.

I also found out that Emily Blunt and John Krasinski (A Quiet Place Part 2) are allegedly suing Paramount Pictures for also cutting the theatrical run of the movie short and putting it on streaming services sooner than they were supposed to.

But the fact that Disney is trying to get away with breaching contracts, and to go even further and use COVID as an excuse to turn people against the actresses, is just unbelievably scummy. Not surprising, because it's Disney, but sad to see.

Disney also outright ghosted Scarlett too when she tried to contact them about the contract to be renegotiated. She literally gave them a free chance when they didn't stick to the contract and they still had the audacity to double down. That just encourages everyone else to never offer an olive branch and go for the jugular in future, and it serves Disney right when that happens going forward.

Especially considering that it wasn't her responsibility to reach out and contact Disney about a renegotiation. If Disney wanted to alter the contract, they should have reached out to her lawyer and started the renegotiation. As you said, the fact that she tried to reach out to them when she didn't have any responsibility to, and they still brushed her off and went and breached the contract, is such bullshit.

Obviously in the long run neither of these lawsuits will do major damage to Disney, but hopefully it'll at least make a big enough impact so that Disney will think twice the next time they think they are above a legally binding contract.
