Phasmophobia | Eventide Update Arrives June 25
In a new blog post, the developers have announced that the next major update for Phasmophobia will arrive on June 25, and will be a combination of the Point Hope and Adjusting the Ascension updates that were originally planned to be separate. Now dubbed the Eventide update, it will include the brand-new location: Point Hope, the Ascension adjustments, and a host of optimizations, changes, and fixes.

A small note was also included about the state of the console port. Work is still ongoing, and further updates will be shared in the coming weeks.

Maybe a reason to go back to the game after not really touching it in a while. I do wonder though how much life this game will still have in it by the time it leaves Early Access and hits console. I'd hope the console release revitalizes it but I feel doubtful about it nowadays.

Steam: Phasmophobia v0.10 Patch Notes

Update is live and the new map sounds really interesting with being 12 rooms across 10 floors.

The game optimizations make me hopeful that crashes will happen less often and might even allow @Mr EliteL to actually play this game again with the rest of us here who own/play this.

Leveling up requiring 10% less XP per level could sound better to me if I knew roughly how much time that saves and how long it takes now to level up. If higher levels take like 10 hours to level up then you're only saving an hour which sounds good if you remove the context that you'll still need 9 hours to gain a single level.

Phasmophobia for Consoles - Update

Oof, no voice recognition at launch and doing it via text to speech instead? That sounds absolutely horrible and I'm just imagining standing in the ghost room with a spirit box typing something out just to end up triggering a hunt from losing sanity while typing your messages. Same as if a hunt triggers while typing you're gonna have to back out and likely lose whatever you were typing too.

I don't get why they couldn't implement this? Is voice recognition that much different on consoles that the currently implemented voice recognition on PC isn't compatible or something? Unsure

Yeah, I feel like this is going to make playing the game on consoles feel really bad. I've had to use the text options for the Spirit Box sometimes when the game glitches and doesn't pick up my mic, and it sucks. Especially because you have to (or had to in the event that they changed it) go into your settings and switch to text mode in order to do it, and then switch back to voice afterwards. Makes it really annoying.

I look forward to seeing all the complaining of people dying because, as you said, they go into the text menu and the ghost starts hunting at that second and then they can't get out and go hide in time.

Well for console the text option will be the default so there won't be a switching issue like you had, but also typing on a controller is complete arse compared to just using a keyboard. x.x

I also wonder how easy it'll be to know this limitation on the console version exists for anyone who considers buying it? If the store page doesn't make mention of it I bet there'll be a number of people who only discover the limit after purchasing the game.

I forgot that the game is going to be cross-play between all versions. Now I can buy the game on PS5 and play with myself on PC. Who needs friends when you have yourself.

I wonder if we can find some silly stuff to do with that in a group game.

You could probably abuse it to figure out a ghost by sacrificing your console self to a hunt and then observing the ghost to figure out its type. Either that or if you were to bother leveling up the console account you could use your PC one to bring in higher tier items to use and make games easier to grind for your newer account.
