it's me suffering the consequences of the mybb forum software

it took several hours for each email i received, and the actual email with the password in it took the longest which was like 7+ hours until i got that one from the time i did the password reset request.

It's not the first time I've heard of someone having to wait a stupid amount of time to get an email, but I never attributed it to being caused by the forum software.

If in future an admin isn't on to get you back in, another alternative rather than just waiting would be to make a new account and use it as normal, then myself or @Mr EliteL can perform an account merge to combine it with the account you already had. I did that with someone else who completely forgot their password but also didn't use the email associated with their account anymore, so they had no choice but to make a new account.

LMAO I'm doing training at work right now and it's about information security (like making sure private info isn't stolen and such) and I forgot this absolute gem of a scenario that comes up during it: 

You walk into a back room office to notice a filing cabinet that contains sensitive documents is missing. What do you do?

Well besides bringing it up to a manager I'd be questioning how the heck a whole ass filing cabinet just got dragged out of an office, through the sales floor and out the front door with nobody noticing it.

Better yet, the training is constantly talking about how people who want to steal info will try to be unnoticeable, so of course they'll just drag a whole filing cabinet out a store without drawing attention and they absolutely wouldn't stand out on a security camera being reviewed later. No sir.

...

Oh good I just started the next video while typing this and I'm being met with a cowboy themed training video about store safety procedures, with Detective Dollar Bill and Captain Napkin dressed as cowboys...

At least you get some randomly themed ones, ours are still just as dull as anything.

First day back to actual produce stock instead of flowers for me, I didn't mind to, as I was stocking flowers for three days straight, and a bit today as well. Insane amount we had, and most weren't Valentine's for some bizarre reason it was like 30% VD, 70% "normal".

Also managed to fall out of bed yesterday morning before work as I woke up to turn off my alarm, that was fun. I wondered if I would ever happen to as my new bed has no railing like my high rise bed did, the only way I'd fall out of that one is if I somehow launched myself over the bars, I also never really found myself smacking against the sides of that bed either so no chance I'd make that mistake. I would've suffered far more than a pulled muscle if I did. This morning I was fine.

I'd rather dull ones, because...

1. Any that contain Captain Napkin and Detective Dollar Bill are borderline insufferable, because they talk to you like you're watching a pre-school TV show, rather than a training video that's being watched by adults.
   
2. The themes usually take up extra time with animations between slides that can begin to really add up on longer videos, which can suck when you have to watch one when you have more important tasks to be dealing with at the time.
   
3. Any training videos that do get themed are rarely given a new theme, so even if there was a novelty to them it doesn't last long when you have to start sitting through them to the point you memorize them, and more so when it's a theme you despise and/or talks to you like a child so you immediately know what you're gonna have to sit through unless you're lucky enough to somehow forget every training video you see the second you finish it.
   

Like, I don't hate the themes or the mascots, I just hate how they talk to you like you're a child who doesn't know their head from their arse.

I'm hoping I can get tired early today otherwise I'm in for a rough night if I don't get some good sleep, because I have to go pick @ShiraNoMai up from the airport at midnight and I have a shift tomorrow at 4am, so whereas normally I'd sleep from like...10/11pm to 3am I need to pull that way the heck forward to be waking up at like 11pm tonight instead.

I also know the feeling, Moony. Tomorrow, they have me closing the back office, and then opening the back office immediately after. So I have to get to bed immediately when I go home, and wake up at 530 to be ready for work ay 630. It's awesome!

Oh man I remember that! Here's the actual one from the training video for anyone curious. I actually liked that one just because it was so stupid it looped around back into entertaining territory.

Is that legal?! I thought there had to be a minimum time between when a shift ends and another starts for safety reasons or something.

It apparently is, because they scheduled me for it, and the machine didn't flash a big ass error. They aren't supposed to do things like that, but they do it anyway because fuck it, why not?

Huh, so I looked it up and apparently Florida just has no law whatsoever when it comes to time between shifts.
I'm curious now as to if there's any employment laws that apply to the entire US or if every single one is state dependent or not. Any time I've become aware of any particular employment law it's because of it coming up in regards to whether Florida (or another state) bothers to have it or not; I've never seen one come up in conversation as being a blanket law that no state can go against.

Ah yes when they speak to you as if you've just come out of preschool, even in them videos? OK I'll stick to the dull ones, at least when I hear what I already know which is basically 90% of the video, I can pretend I'm paying attention.

My bed isn't high rise anymore, I forgot the name of it but the bed has two large drawers underneath the mattress section of it, with a head board at one end that was added on during my order.

Damn they've scheduled that for you again, Maniak. The worst I've had is 8pm finish-6am start and a 9pm-7am, but that's only because I agreed to it as cover as I live only a 5 minute walk away, I wouldn't if there was a drive/travel in between.

Yeah, although I forgot until now that nowadays for training videos I just turn on closed captions and don't even put the headphones on. I'll just glance up to see if anything is being said I know will be a question at the end or not, and if not I just look at shit on my phone. Then there's the odd training video where it asks the questions first, and if you get them all correct it just skips the entire training video and passes you, and some of those are an hour long so a perfect score means saving a ton of time. All of those videos have the answer sheets online, so I just Google the answers, put them in, and pass the training in five minutes instead of an hour.
