Unless a game you're playing relies on it though, can't you just let it be wrong and leave it alone?

Again, it asks it EVERY TIME. Even if I let it be wrong, it will still ask me to do that. This isn't a "Oh, it'll sort itself out" problem. It requires me actively going into the BIOS, telling the system "I want to change the clock", then going to the game and playing it. I cannot avoid it; it will always interrupt with that message. Now tell me I'm supposed to actively ignore that message EVERY TIME I boot up the console.

Oh, the console actually complains about it. I thought the clock just wouldn't be correct and nothing more.

So, I've officially written the angriest set of paragraphs I've ever written.

See, while Dragon Age Origins has been idle, I have not been. I've been doing some advance writing from memory and text read-ups for a few games in the background that I want to do in the future. And one set I wrote is really, really angry. I don't want to reveal too much about what it is or why (Karo knows because I babbled about it with her for 3 hours), but it's not, like, a one-off slight? It's central to the plot, and I don't really like how angry it came out. At the same time, I don't know any other way of rewriting it to get my point across. We'll see if it survives the playthrough.

So I'm guessing it's angrier than you've gotten in any of your existing "Maniak Rants" videos?

Oh, very much so! It reads a lot more like my older scripts, which were more Spoony inspired. They were also full of curse words and screaming, but it's been a long while since I've gotten this much emotion from one game. I think the best showing of that is the line that caps off the entire set of paragraphs. In all caps: "You should be ashamed of yourselves!"

Doug Bowser, Nintendo Of America President and COO to Retire

Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) today announced that Doug Bowser will retire as President and Chief Operating Officer on December 31, 2025, after more than a decade in multiple leadership positions. He will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, a 19-year veteran of the video game industry and long-standing member of the NOA leadership team. In addition, Satoru Shibata will join NOA as Chief Executive Officer, while continuing his roles as Managing Executive Officer and Corporate Director, Member of the Board at Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL). Pritchard will also join the NOA Board of Directors and become an NCL Executive Officer.

I'm sure he did do things but with how little we've heard about Bowser compared to Reggie my mind immediately went to thinking "Eh, retiring? What did he even do?!"
I also misread the 19-year veteran part of the quote as 19-year-old and wondered how someone that young could be the replacement, so my brain is doing great with responding to this story.

No worries I have the thought of "What did he even do?" too. I literally couldn't say anything about what he's done personally for the company if asked, other than what his surname is. I don't think he appeared in any Directs either, there might have been one, yet Reggie did numerous times.

I wonder if things would have been different if in-person presentations were still a thing for Nintendo. Like, let's say Nintendo Direct's were a thing when Reggie first showed up at E3, would he have been on the Direct instead? If he was, would he have done the "kicking ass" bit that he did in person when there's no crowd present and if not, does he get noticed enough to continue being a staple face of NoA for the duration of his tenure? Current Nintendo Direct's have the advantage of easily doing a translation of anyone speaking that isn't as efficient for stage shows, which means we don't have to substitute in English speakers for presentations.

Sony is similar, in that we don't really see the face of PlayStation in any SoP's yet the live shows always had them coming out, and maybe even some of the earlier SoP's until the head of PlayStation was changed to someone who had never done live shows and thus wasn't used in the digital presentations as a familiar face from the live shows.

Xbox is harder to predict given their current trajectory, but if/when Phil Spencer steps down it'll be interesting to see whether his replacement has a notable presence on any Xbox showcases or not.
