It means having to tediously reset the system calendar EVERY TIME I power on the console. Sure, it still works, but you do that a bunch of times and see how YOU feel about it. It gets annoying REALLY quick.

Again, it asks it EVERY TIME. Even if I let it be wrong, it will still ask me to do that. This isn't a "Oh, it'll sort itself out" problem. It requires me actively going into the BIOS, telling the system "I want to change the clock", then going to the game and playing it. I cannot avoid it; it will always interrupt with that message. Now tell me I'm supposed to actively ignore that message EVERY TIME I boot up the console.

Oh, the console actually complains about it. I thought the clock just wouldn't be correct and nothing more.

So, I've officially written the angriest set of paragraphs I've ever written.
See, while Dragon Age Origins has been idle, I have not been. I've been doing some advance writing from memory and text read-ups for a few games in the background that I want to do in the future. And one set I wrote is really, really angry. I don't want to reveal too much about what it is or why (Karo knows because I babbled about it with her for 3 hours), but it's not, like, a one-off slight? It's central to the plot, and I don't really like how angry it came out. At the same time, I don't know any other way of rewriting it to get my point across. We'll see if it survives the playthrough.

Oh, very much so! It reads a lot more like my older scripts, which were more Spoony inspired. They were also full of curse words and screaming, but it's been a long while since I've gotten this much emotion from one game. I think the best showing of that is the line that caps off the entire set of paragraphs. In all caps: "You should be ashamed of yourselves!"

Doug Bowser, Nintendo Of America President and COO to Retire
Business Wire Wrote:Nintendo of America Inc. (NOA) today announced that Doug Bowser will retire as President and Chief Operating Officer on December 31, 2025, after more than a decade in multiple leadership positions. He will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, a 19-year veteran of the video game industry and long-standing member of the NOA leadership team. In addition, Satoru Shibata will join NOA as Chief Executive Officer, while continuing his roles as Managing Executive Officer and Corporate Director, Member of the Board at Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL). Pritchard will also join the NOA Board of Directors and become an NCL Executive Officer. Source: Business Wire
I'm sure he did do things but with how little we've heard about Bowser compared to Reggie my mind immediately went to thinking "Eh, retiring? What did he even do?!"
I also misread the 19-year veteran part of the quote as 19-year-old and wondered how someone that young could be the replacement, so my brain is doing great with responding to this story.

No worries I have the thought of "What did he even do?" too. I literally couldn't say anything about what he's done personally for the company if asked, other than what his surname is. I don't think he appeared in any Directs either, there might have been one, yet Reggie did numerous times.

I wonder if things would have been different if in-person presentations were still a thing for Nintendo. Like, let's say Nintendo Direct's were a thing when Reggie first showed up at E3, would he have been on the Direct instead? If he was, would he have done the "kicking ass" bit that he did in person when there's no crowd present and if not, does he get noticed enough to continue being a staple face of NoA for the duration of his tenure? Current Nintendo Direct's have the advantage of easily doing a translation of anyone speaking that isn't as efficient for stage shows, which means we don't have to substitute in English speakers for presentations.
Sony is similar, in that we don't really see the face of PlayStation in any SoP's yet the live shows always had them coming out, and maybe even some of the earlier SoP's until the head of PlayStation was changed to someone who had never done live shows and thus wasn't used in the digital presentations as a familiar face from the live shows.
Xbox is harder to predict given their current trajectory, but if/when Phil Spencer steps down it'll be interesting to see whether his replacement has a notable presence on any Xbox showcases or not.

So PlayStation announced a new DualSense color, you can check it out at the PlayStation Blog if you're curious. Named 'Icon Blue', it combines a darker blue outside with a lighter blue inside. I'm very tempted to get it because I love anything blue, and this controller really appeals to me.
Though with the recent rumors of PlayStation releasing a new Version 3 DualSense controller in November, I'm not sure if I want to get this one in case the new version of the controller has a lot of improvements (mainly reduction in possibility of stick drift). If the picture of the rumored V3 Controller is accurate, they are finally making the face buttons colored again, which I really like (it's the main reason I picked up the 30th anniversary DualSense). The rumors also suggest that the new V3 DualSense controller will have a removable battery, allowing you to swap to a new battery if you experience any battery degradation.
In addition, there's rumors of a new PS5 Pro model also releasing in November along with the DualSense V3. Rumors suggest no major changes to the new model, though it is said that it will use 3% less power than the current PS5 Pro model.
With November approaching, it'll be interesting to see if these rumors are true and what the price points for these new hardware additions to the PlayStation line-up will be. Hopefully the V3 DualSense would be sold separately and not only bundled up with the new PS5 Pro Model (I want those colored face buttons, damn it!).

If I was using my PS5 at all and didn't already have enough controllers I'd consider that Icon Blue one because it is a nice controller. I wasn't expecting to see other products on that blog post when I scrolled, and those backpack clips have my full attention. Or rather, they did until as I expected, they're in blind bags so you have no clue what one you're getting.
I'm surprised Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter got clips but Ratchet & Clank didn't, especially since it's more recent than either of those other two and is probably the only way Insomniac can be represented unless Sony has the rights to make Spider-Man backpack clips.
I've not heard anything about a new DualSense version until now and I wasn't even aware the current one had been revised to be a V2 (unless the DualSense Edge is being counted as the V2). A swappable battery would be nice and is something I used to think was stupid about Xbox controllers, but I came around on how useful that actually is from how many times I've had Joy-Cons die on me when using them detached from the Switch and you can't just plug them in with a wire to keep using them like you can at least do with PlayStation controllers.
A new PS5 Pro model seems really pointless to me but that's because I don't think there's enough games to justify buying a Pro now. Heck, currently I don't know if I'd even recommend a base PS5 to anybody because barring Astro Bot and Demon's Souls there isn't anything on it that you can't or won't be able to play on PC, plus I think Sony's first party offerings have taken a step backwards this generation with none of their sequels offering a remotely good story.
If we didn't have multiple threads for Nintendo movies I'd have probably put this in one of those, but apparently in a recent interview Shigeru Miyamoto said that "games eventually stop running when newer versions come out, but films remain forever" when asked about his views on Nintendo's recent foray into movies. I just wanted to share it because I feel like it's such a purposefully tone deaf thing to say; technically, he isn't wrong that older games stop running but Nintendo can preserve any first party game they want to and offer it on current consoles, so movies are only solving that problem if Nintendo opts to still be difficult about buying their old games on current systems and goes after emulators that provide what Nintendo doesn't want to offer.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: What was said by Miyamoto was different to what is in this post; the linked source spliced parts of what Miyamoto actually said. This post clarifies what was actually said.

If he thinks films are forever, he should tell that to Disney who deleted Togo from their streaming platforms, making it so that it's impossible to watch legally. Or, you know, just check the list of Lost Films. Nothing is forever. There's a reason we have the term "Lost Media".

I've never even heard of that Disney film before, and I can't even begin to guess why they removed it when it didn't review poorly nor had issues with being historically accurate. I'd also argue that it's probably only really a recent thing that movies even have a possibility of lasting forever, when you consider that before digital was an option they were no different to games in that once the game/movie goes out of print, new stock eventually runs out and then the only way to watch the movie again is either buying a second-hand copy, although movies have at least had the luxury of being shown on TV but that was only if they were good enough to air in the first place. For example I doubt the original Mario live action movie was shown on TV much if at all, and I bet it's a bastard to find it if we don't count a digital option, if it exists.
