I really don't know why I keep tuning in to watch these expecting anything decent. Like when the best part of the entire SoP is them just announcing there will be a deep dive into Phantom Blade 0, it's pretty bad.
I should have learned my lesson by now and just looked up the announcements afterwards and not waste an hour of my life on these things.

One game I'm interested in at least, yay, which was Rayman.
Neat Tomb Raider got something and a new Until Dawn that I'll just watch someone's play through of like I did for the first one, and another game like which I can't remember title of.
Wasn't paying attention for part of it, which made me miss what No Rest for the Wicked looked like, need to watch that again.
The rest were whatever for me really.

So, a few things caught my interest, but allow me to hit the few that absolutely floored me.

OH, YOU RAT BASTARDS, PROJECT ACES! For those that don't know, Four, Five, and Zero are the holy trinity of Ace Combat games, with Zero having arguably the best story of the three, and to lock that game behind a pre-order bonus... goddamn it!

WHAT?! HOW?! WHO?! WHAT?! I am utterly floored by this! This is literally better than the Metal Wolf Chaos XD announcement; that's how amazed I am!
For those that don't know, Gitaroo Man is a cult classic on the PS2 that is basically impossible to get a hold of. Copies regularly go for $150 dollars, even if you get the PSP port. It's a rhythm game where you play as a youngster by the name of U-1, who learns that he is basically a power ranger that comes from a long line of power rangers, and his weapon is the great Gitaroo. He must go and collect the other Gitaroos to save the planet Gitaroo from the evil Zowie. With a description like this, you can obviously tell this is a game that is not taking itself too seriously, and the game is so much better for it. One of the early bosses is literally a Eurodance dancing spaceship. It's that kind of game.
For those that are thinking of getting it, I will warn you now: it is INTENSELY difficult! Like, it starts off not too bad, but it quickly ramp the difficulty by insane amounts. Whisper the name "Sanbone Trio" to anyone who has played it, and you will get someone who will go through war flashbacks. With that said, it is IMMENSE fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. And now, with a reasonable way to play it (without piracy), I'm so happy to say that you should get a copy of it as soon as you can!

You're not missing much on No Rest for the Wicked. The only reason people are even puffing it up is because it's made by the Ori devs, but everything about it looks terrible. Just another game trying to piggy-back off of the success of games like Elden Ring by labeling itself a "Souls-like", but lacking anything that even makes games like Elden Ring what they are. How the combat in the game looks alone should be enough to turn anyone off of the game, but again, a lot of people think just because the Ori games were good, this game will automatically be amazing.
At the very least hopefully they get the large amounts of performance issues ironed out by the time October comes around. Apparently the game leaves a lot to be desired in this regard. They'll be increasing the price to $60 apparently and if it still has a lot of these issues by that time, then big oof to anyone who buys it at the higher price.
Honestly if you want to be interested in any upcoming "Souls-like" games, you're better off just sticking to either Phantom Blade Zero or Lords of the Fallen II. Or if you're interested in starting to get into the Souls-like games, but don't like the Dark Souls games/Elden Ring themselves, there's plenty to try out -- Code Vein (avoid Code Vein 2 like the plague), AI Limit, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Lords of the Fallen (2023), the Nioh series (highly recommended, hard, but very rewarding). Lots of fun 2D Souls-likes to try out as well, like Salt & Sanctuary, the Ender games (Lillies and Magnolia), Afterimage, AWAKEN - Astral Blade, Blasphemous, The Last Faith... plus lots of others that I can't think of right now. Nice thing about a lot of these 2D Souls-likes is that they are also Metroidvanias, so while they can still be highly punishing, you're given a lot of options to overcome the challenges.
I think the new Onimusha game could be good too, but man every trailer they release for it is just pure ass. I don't know if it's just because the gameplay itself is going to be complete ass, or if the way they present the game in the trailers is just that god awful, but every trailer just makes me want to ignore the game more and more. Maybe I'll try out the demo later to get my answer, but I'm not too hopeful for it based on the trailers we've seen so far.

Neat Tomb Raider got something and a new Until Dawn that I'll just watch someone's play through of like I did for the first one, and another game like which I can't remember title of. I still remember when we nearly beat the entirety of Rayman Origins at London Comic Con once we found out they were running the full game and not a conference demo.
Yeah, much like the Rayman Legends remake I wasn't really sold on the proposal of a third remake/retelling of Tomb Raider 1, moreso when I've recently played it via the Remastered Trilogy, but seeing the trailer of what the game will be like quickly sold me on it. I'm a little bummed to learn the game is using AI in some aspect, but I also can't say I'm surprised when it's Amazon behind it.

At least it wasn't locked to a pricier edition of the game, although it will suck if the only way to get it is purely via pre-order or the physical Deluxe Edition. Unfortunately it seems that's going to be the case, because apparently the reason it's only a port and included as a bonus is to avoid the licensing fees for the aircraft and other vehicles since they're not selling it. AC5's port was also handled similarly from what I've read. It sucks because anyone who gets interested in the newer Ace Combat games after their launch won't have a way to play those two ports officially, and while I can understand it isn't remotely worth the cost to have them available for individual sale on modern storefronts I would've thought the workaround would be to make it only obtainable by buying the Ace Combat game they came bundled with so it remains purely as a free bonus and not a purchasable product.

WHAT?! HOW?! WHO?!
I remember learning about Guitaroo Man during my videogame studies class in college, so it was neat to see it come up again here. I actually have the link to the presentation it was part of still if you're interested in seeing what else was brought up alongside it.
For a SoP announced two weeks out, I don't really think it delivered close to anything worth that wait. I know that's technically on me for having a higher expectation, but when these things are usually only two days out a longer heads-up is going to give the implication that something bigger is going to be shown that PlayStation wants a lot of people to tune in for.
Wolverine looked very similar to Spider-Man's gameplay but with a ton of blood effects thrown on top of it, and initially I thought it was giving the violence a Wolverine game would be expected to have until I saw somebody point out how at no point does anyone get dismembered. For everything going on and with how lethal Wolverine's claws are shown to be, it was odd watching the footage back again and noticing that. Insomniac said they were aiming for a hard R rating for the game, but I don't feel like just throwing blood effects on everything is what I'd consider trying to aim for a hard R.
ILL is still a game I'm really hoping turns out well because I love how fucked up it is, but I wanna see more of the actual raw gameplay because so far it's just shots of monsters or gore that looks cool.
I could say it in response to multiple different showcases that came after this one, but man I am so tired of seeing Control Resonant. I liked Control so it isn't because the game is one I dislike, it's just another case of a game being marketed too much for my liking. However, I also don't like the marketing for this one either, because it's too many trailers of just random bollocks that doesn't actually add anything to what is already known about the game and nothing of the actual gameplay, except for when it showed up during PC Gaming Show where there was actually a deep dive into the gameplay with accompanying footage. It wouldn't resolve my issue with oversaturated marketing but if the trailer in this and other showcases was showing me what the actual game is and not just cryptic shit about the Hiss and that shit's fucked up it would at least have been more palatable.
God of War..... I was really intrigued by it even though I didn't really think a game with Kratos' wife was going to offer anything, because the gameplay was looking really solid and even it being set in a realm where all the deceased gods go regardless of mythology was actually cool. Then that stupid cube and the talking sword ribbons showed up. The vibe felt so serious and focused until then, but that cube is just visually jarring and I detest the idea of yet another quippy talking companion where precedent tells me it isn't going to shut up nor let me think about any puzzles the game might have for two seconds before chipping in with a hint. Those two characters were all the reason I needed to 100% wait and just watch a playthrough of the game on release to see how it turns out.

Wolverine definitely has that "same game, slightly different coat of paint" effect that every PlayStation first-party game has had the last many years. Going to be another one of those "oooohhhhh look at how CiNeMaTiC it is!!!!!!" PlayStation games that has the dullest gameplay you've ever suffered through.
YES! Thank you for calling out the absolute ridiculous amount of times we've had to have Control: Resonant shoved down our throats. Dear god I am tired of seeing this damn game. It's almost as bad as how much they were trying to shove Marathon down our throats prior to its release. I agree with you about the trailers, they are just a collection of the most random bullshit slopped together and released as a trailer. You can tell the trailer was made for Zoomers and below, because the scene changes every 1.5-2 seconds.
Yeah, the cube and sword in God of War wreak of your typical mid-40s millennial slop writing. Definitely made the game go from "Maybe I'll buy it when it's $5-$10" to "I wouldn't play this garbage even if they paid me." Not that I was too interested in it in the first place because the combat looks... meh (the mid-air attack animations just looked so off and... bad to me), but those characters and how awful the writing is going to be (easy to tell this just from the little bit we had to suffer through in the trailer) make this game such an easy skip. Even if it's free on PS Plus eventually, I'd probably still skip it just because I'd still have to waste time on playing it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's already a Driver 5: Driver San Francisco (and that's ignoring Driver 76 on the PSP, because we all know the handheld games never count). So, you're either forgetting about Driver Parallel Lines or Driver San Francisco when asking for a Driver 5, there.
And this is ignoring the two elephants in the room: Reflections Interactive (Now Ubisoft Reflections) haven't made a game themselves since 2017, and the Driver IP is well-known to have been reworked into another IP: Watchdogs (you may start booing now). Given that Saber Interactive (of Snowrunner fame, though they have very, VERY many other games) is at the helm of Stuntman Hollywood, I don't think this is going to get Ubisoft to pay attention, as awesome as that would be.
