200% speed for that song, holy crap. Commendable, although it does just look like he's spamming the buttons randomly but of course it isn't by random but by accuracy. The moments where for a split second he has to hit the buttons with both hands on the neck, then bring his right arm back down to the body were just mad. XD
Not that it takes away from what they pull off here whatsoever, but apparently the Guitar Hero games have a leniency to them where inputs don't need to be frame perfect and have a small window either side of them, so as long as the input is done within that window it counts. If not for that I doubt this could ever be achieved without a TAS.

In my most recent game of Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, I decided to create a 'museum' in one corner of the map, featuring significant trains from the course of my game, once their time in service was over.

Here's what it looked like at the end of the game (after 63 in-game years):

Saw this when it was first uploaded and kept forgetting to share it. It's not the first skit I've seen about delayed enemy attacks but it's up there among my favorites I've seen. Tongue

Since you've played Expedition 33 @Maniakkid25 whereas I haven't, how accurate is this to any of your experiences with the game so far? LOL

Yes, it actually is. The parries and dodges are actually VERY weirdly timed, and it never feels like the right moment when it is. At least, that's been my experience.

The following screen cap has not been edited in any way. Enjoy.

AN IMAGE WAS HERE. IT'S GONE NOW. But you can see it if you go up one post.
Does it pose a problem in fights much or no? The only games I've played where enemy attacks have janky timings are Souls-likes so it often gets me killed whenever it happens. Suffer

I have no clue what game that is, but going by the art style I can tell it's old and if it was before "RIP in peace" became a thing on the internet I'm wondering if that game was the origin of it or not. Hmm

It does for me, because it means I tank damage. Alot. That is not conducive to survival. At all.

Okay, some context: so this is a fan translation of the game Ancient Roman: Power of Dark Side. The fan translation dropped in 2024, so it is not an origin point for that phrase. But, the reason why this particular line was chosen for this is complex. Like, "you need a working knowledge of written Japanese" complex. This wasn't just for the memes. I will try to explain my understanding, but I do not have a working knowledge of written Japanese, so I can only go by what I've been told.

See, the original Japanese script is actually poorly written. Not in the sense of "it's a bad story" (though, it is a bad story), but in the sense of "did anyone proofread this?" Typos are littered all over the place, weird symbols are used for some words, and its overall a headache to actually read. To give you an idea, they spelled their own title wrong in Katakana. That's how bad this is.

So, when translating the game, the translator had a difficult job ahead of them: how do you maintain the texture of a poorly written script when translating out of its native language? SnowyAria, the translator in question, decided for this particular line and a few others to lean in on the ridiculousness of the typo, because the thing you CAN NOT do is just translate it literally, and artificially add a typo, because you'll just get bug reports that way.

LMAO I asked @ShiraNoMai if she knew what the game was from the image and she was convinced it was Digimon World. ROFL Although I shouldn't mock her too much; the first thought my stupid arse guessed at was "iz dat Dark Cloud?" [Image: m09047.gif]
Ah, I see. I've seen a couple of times cases where a game in Japanese gets translated with like, some auto tool or something, and while it'll make a game at least usable it can often translate stuff in a way that's like dialogue options in Fallout 4, as in what is said doesn't really line up correctly with what comes before/after it. So even without typos I've got a bit of an impression that Japanese (and other languages) can't just be 1:1 translated, so kudos to that translator doing something that already asks for some liberties to be taken but having to go even further with them due to the typos.

I won't be surprised if some folk here have already seen this video because it's a classic moment in gaming/EVO that I have somehow never seen/heard of until last night:

I saw it in response to a question asking people what was a moment in gaming that made you feel like Neo in that scene against Mr. Smith at the end of the first Matrix movie. The one where Morpheus says "He's starting to believe". LOL

Yeah I've seen that EVO clip before, but I saw it quite late like you as well. Definitely a cool moment, crazy comebacks and back and forth moments can be hype, unless it's a mirror match that may make an occasion less so depending on who's playing. Also matters when in the tournament, and if you're watching live either there in person (I've never done) or at home. I remember watching EVO late into the night downstairs because I didn't want to disturb my mum and sister. Can't remember which year probably 2018 or 2019, I'd say 2018 because I remember watching a very interesting T7 match (Top 8 Lil Majin vs JDCR) even though it was only 3 games long.

That clip is a classic. Justin Wong still has PTSD from that clip lol. But seriously, it has been IMMORTALIZED in gaming culture, and he will never live it down. It's even got a Wikipedia page.

Honestly, though, making that comeback in a crowd that's cheering AGAINST you is the kind of shit that lives in underdog sports movies. I'm amazed no one's done, like, a feature film based on it.
