Eh, it started off with a really good first match and then just went downhill for me from there. The women's division continues to be horribly underutilized with the same couple of people always being used so there's little reason to give a shit for the stories or the matches, and the one of the two women's matches that was supposed to be a payoff to an actually interesting story ended with a horrific botch that just ruined the whole thing. It also doesn't help that of the 5 matches on the card, 4 of them involved interference so then it just feels like anything happening before someone outside the match gets involved doesn't matter because the audience isn't going to expect a finish to happen when there's suspicion (and confirmation) of interference happening. This isn't the first PLE to do a ton of this either so now the expectation is that interference is very likely to happen so may as well not pay attention to anything until that happens because it isn't like you'll miss anything important.

So, BobbyBroccoli has come out with another banger of a documentary, and its on a subject that, within 3 minutes of the video playing, I knew exactly the tragedy that was about to unfold. Dreams shattered, hopes ruined, legacies destroyed. The pipe dream that seemed to be just on the cusp of reality.

Last thing I watched was the Xbox Partner Preview.

Cold Fusion is known as perhaps the greatest scientific hoax of the 20th century. It promised to be the savior of humanity and the end of the Energy Crisis while standard "hot" fusion was floundering. When all was said and done, it trampled out careers, destroyed lives, and ruined the legacies of the two men at the helm. It was a travesty that would have ramifications that we are still dealing with. Simply put, it's probably the worst scientific "discovery" ever made in the 80s.

Dang, I can't believe I've never really heard anything about it before. Obviously I'm only going by what you wrote but it doesn't sound like a bad thing it destroyed the legacies of the two men who founded it if the whole thing was bullshit.

The problem is it didn't just destroy the legacy of two men. As with almost anything in life, things just aren't that simple. I do highly recommend watching the series when it's finished (only Part 1 is posted right now, and we're anticipating a three part documentary), because no matter where this goes, it will surprise you where the story turns up.

Like I do everyday I'm watching Twitch; what I didn't expect was to be watching my main streamer playing "Revenge of the Colon" tonight. It's uh... certainly an interesting game so far. Definitely has deep gameplay if nothing else.

I'm loving the subtle changes the anime continues to make that fixes some of the weaknesses of the manga. I have to say though that Orihime's outfit will probably never not look ridiculous every time I see her in a scene.

It was an episode I'd seen before, but I didn't remember any of the results - so, seeing the contestants winning was a nice surprise again!

Haven't watched this show in ages and actually forgot about it, which actually makes me appreciate its format a lot more of each episode being mostly self contained so if you forget what was happening it's not really gonna be a problem.

Have him on right now; he's playing some sort of horror game where you have to see if there's anything unusual in the environment and if not, move to the next level, but if you get it wrong you get killed and sent back to the first level. For being labelled a horror game there's not actually any horror by the look of it so far though.

WWE Royal Rumble 2025
Currently watching this live, and the women's rumble match just ended and made me pick out when I'll probably decide to cook dinner during WrestleMania this year.

I'm still kind of surprised they opted to have not-signed talent be part of the 30 man lineup for the Rumble for a moment of glory, per se, but also, I guess it's fine. I'm not sure who else could have taken iShowSpeed's place, anyway, so I suppose it didn't quite matter in the end.

Watched a friend of mine stream (https://www.twitch.tv/marxcie); haven't seen her in a while, and apparently also hadn't streamed in a while either so it wasn't too odd for those two to be related reasons lol they're a tax professional so tax season is, as you can imagine, very taxing. Pun intended, yes.

Celebrity appearances aren't a new thing for the Rumble. iShowSpeed is the fourth celebrity to be in the match, following Drew Carey in 2001, Johnny Knoxville in 2022, and Bad Bunny in 2022 also.
As for who else could have been in the match in his place, if you mean celebrities I don't know what other huge streamers there are out there that are also fans of WWE and also have a degree of fitness/athleticism to be able to participate in the match safely and in a way that doesn't make the celebrity spot look terrible (there have been many celebrity moments outside of the Rumble that were awful and it's why Bad Bunny was a breath of fresh air when he came into the product).
The one thing that was different this year for the Rumble is that usually when a wrestler is taken out before they get to the ring, they're just removed without a replacement so technically any Rumble where that has happened is 29 men rather than 30. iShowSpeed actually being a replacement for someone else who was taken out is a first as far as I know.
