Yeah mask the fuck up at airports. Caught COVID this past June cuz I forgot to bring mine in my haste to get to the airport on time. Too many people tightly packed in one enclosed space that have traveled from all over bringing this that and the other with them as souvenirs.

LMAO I just got to work and we've had to call the cops because some dude is standing right outside our door trying to get in every time a worker gets let in to the building despite being told no multiple times and that if he doesn't leave we'll have to call the cops because he's a security risk to people trying to get in at 4am.
At least coming in on what is usually my day off has been amusing already, which I need after the way yesterday went for me as a whole.

Those people man, just screw them, don't care if they're high or drunk or completely stubborn and just refusing to leave...just piss of man, it's not opening time yet. Well OK we don't get them ridiculously early like that nor do they stick around like that unless it's 10 minutes, but learn the darn opening times already.

Yeah, but that would require customers to, you know, read, and they can't be assed to do that; that would take effort, and effort is hard! It's so much easier to just piss off the workers and be annoying and stay until after closing and arrive long before they open.

I don't know what was up with the guy specifically but he was either high, drunk, and/or has some mental illness. He wasn't aggressive at all, he just seemed to not really want to move away even when we kept telling him to, and at 4am most of the workers coming in are women and we could see from the front doors that a number of them were just sitting in their cars because they rightfully didn't feel comfortable walking up to the doors alone with him just being there.
I was like the second person to enter the store and he asked me if he could come in with me to use the bathroom and I told him no and that was that. But I also at first thought he was just a vendor until I got a better look and at that point was so close to the doors I didn't give a shit. XD

Ugh, that flight is already a slog because coming back to the US from Europe is during the day rather than overnight like the reverse trip is, but to then not be done with travelling after all that because of having to get a connecting flight to the next state down just sounds like insult to injury. x.x
There were others from the US on this trip of yours though right? If so since I figure not all of them live in any of the eastern-most states how long are their flights back home?

One of them has already made it to DC, and needs to fly out to Illinois or Indiana, but the other one has a particularly cursed run. She has to go from Paris to Reykjavik, stay overnight, Reykjavik to Charlotte, stay overnight AGAIN, and then Charlotte to home. I do feel quite bad for her, tbh.
Only about half way through the flight, then I have to get through customs, pick up my bag, recheck my bag, get through security, and make it to my flight within 2 hours. Wish me luck!

...wait, where's her arrival destination? Why'd they make her go all the way to Iceland just to go a hundred miles south of where you went, directly?!

Because they are flying AirIceland, so the flight set up ended up a bit more circuitous than mine. They actually had a much longer trip, where they were in Denmark for a week and getting Lasik before driving on Parisian streets! She's absolutely mad for doing both of those, by the way.

My reaction to that second flight was that type of laughter best described as that "oh my god that's so bad" type of a laugh if that makes any sense. Double overnights is like some flying to Australia level shit.
Two hours for your connection should be enough time I think. There's usually a line for citizens and non-citizens and I'd imagine there's gonna be way more non-citizens on your flight.

Well, I made it out of customs and to my flight gate with enough time to spare to get some food I could actually eat. Now I'm just waiting for boarding, as the flight appears to be on time right now, so with luck, I'll be home by 130 AM or something like that.

Nice! Assuming nothing went wrong with the last part of your journey home it sounds like your flight back was a lot less hassle than the flight to France was.
