White Chicks (2004)
Not sure why @ShiraNoMai wanted to watch this but man this film was so much better than I expected it to be. I'd heard of it by name before but thought it was just a comedy about white chicks with nothing more to it, rather than being about undercover agents and stuff. I was also shocked to see after that the movie got shredded in reviews back in the day; I thought it was a great comedy movie that knows exactly what it's doing and owns it fully.

The Worst PS1 JRPG -- Ancient Roman: Power of Dark Side

Well, this had a lot to live up to with a name like that, and it definitely met that benchmark. The game featured on the video is impressively terrible, both from a conceptual standpoint and a technical one. This is the kind of game that hitches when it tried to play a sound effect; that's the level of bad we are talking about. It is mesmerizing, and any kusoge enthusiast is worse off if you don't know about this game. I love it.

I got reminded of its existence recently and I've been itching to watch a movie of some kind, and figured it was an easy, digestible film for even when you're tired, it wouldn't be the end of the world if you fell asleep, ya know? 
Anyway yeah, aside from a few 2004-specific jokes/references, the movie holds up quite well. Dumb comedy films not made by Adam Sandler can be fairly decent if done well, it turns out.

Currently watching a streamer playing through 8 hours of Desert Bus; they're at the 6:43 mark right now. I do wonder how long the game goes on for if you were able to get an AI or something to maintain control over the bus so the game can keep running far longer than a human could continuously play it.

One Question

A game show where the contestants are given one question, with 16 possible answers. The object is to try and eliminate the 15 incorrect ones, until they arrive at the correct one.

Only works if the answer is pretty obscure, though: if the players know the answer immediately, then the game is basically over right away!

Yeah I'm trying to parse what kind of question would have that kind of complicated answer. I suppose it'd be something like, what year was B.B. King born? with a list of answers of years. Do you know if contestants get clues or something that help push along the show for them to eliminate wrong answers? Like, in my example, "he played blues at night clubs", one could logically filter out responses from the 80s onward, cuz that wasn't happening beyond then, right?

Happened to catch this tonight. Something @Mr EliteL would appreciate, cuz god damn!

watching various graystillplays videos. gotta say, he may not be everyone's cup of tea humour-wise but he's been rather entertaining for the past couple of years for me. =P

@ShiraNoMai: Haha yeah I did appreciate that. Haven't watched an Ultimate set or clip in ages, but still that was brilliantly called, as long as he got the tech to save himself that is. Was right to give Bowser a spike frame(s) for that move to at least do something like that.

This again  . This time, there were two sets of players:

• The first pair had the question, "What is a hat?". I knew it was answer #4 ("The item of clothing depicted on the flag of Lesotho"), but unfortunately, they didn't know, and didn't win in the end.
  
• The second pair had, "Who is Smith?". They immediately knew it was the author of 101 Dalmatians, so they won the money  !

WWE Elimination Chamber 2025
I don't think I've ever heard of an event choosing to have someone sing the American national anthem when that event isn't taking place in America. Also an incredibly bold choice given this event is in Canada.

I'm actually excited for this event more than most recent WWE events I've watched because I don't have a clue who is gonna win anything, which makes a change from the usual predictable booking.

Stuff on YouTube, mainly Chess related videos and what has been happening in WWE. What highlights I saw of Elimination Chamber was great other than Travis Scott who ruined a lot of what was a big moment. Ruined Rock's entrance, him just being there during the performance was an eyesore and then he goes and injures Cody. Great, what a---*ahem*.

Yeah I do not get why Travis Scott was part of that segment. I assume it was to maybe serve as a "Look at what you can get and the celebrities you can be with by being on the Rock's side Cody" message but it just didn't really do anything that added to the moment. The only good thing is that Travis just standing there doing sod all is people cut him out and placed him into other wrestling screengrabs with a caption "Why was Travis there?!" which has made for a few funny images.

Ah at least something good came out of Travis being there then. Can't seem to find any though myself yet.

Just watched something else related to the recent Elimination Chamber, WWE posted a video recording what was seen in each Elimination Pod as the wrestlers stepped in and whilst they waited for their turn. Punk's Pod view is the best out of the bunch, includes the Women's Chamber too.

Is English just badly pronounced French?


I'm highlighting this video not just because its an interesting question (The TL;DR version is "SORT OF!"), but because he said the thing that has bothered me for literally years! Like, no joke, it made me want to scream in joy because "YES! SOMEONE ELSE HAS NOTICED THIS! I'M NOT JUST INSANE!"

So, have you ever heard someone say "An historic moment?" Actually say it out loud if you haven't and are a native English speaker. Sounds strange, right? This is because in English, "an" is never used before a consonant sound, only a vowel sound. But some people -- who should really know better! -- insist that this is correct! And to hear it explained why was SUCH A GOOD FEELING! See, in comes from the influence of the French in the evolution of our language, were a lot of words that started with "H" suddenly found that sound disappearing! So, people would start using it in front of ANY "H" word, thinking that's the way it's supposed to be!

Just hearing that explanation made me feel so good! Every time I hear "an historic...", it drives me crazy, and now I know how this error creeped into people's lexicons! Thanks, RobWords! Now I know why!
