Nintendo Direct Announced for June 9
Nintendo have announced via the Nintendo Today app that there will be a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm GMT. The Direct will run for approximately 50 minutes, followed by a 90 minute long Nintendo Treehouse.

Yeah, I think it was maybe at most an hour or two before I posted it that the news was shared by Nintendo. Not that they would but at least it isn't like the Star Fox Direct that was announced like 15 minutes before it went live.

To speculate on what might/will be shown:

• Star Fox - Obvious because why wouldn't it be, but I don't think it'll be covered for long because unless they wanna spoil the prologue thing with Fox's dad there isn't much to show/reveal after what the Direct covered so I reckon it'll just be a trailer of some cutscenes and gameplay.
  
• Pokémon Winds/Waves - New Pokémon will definitely show up, maybe even the first evolutions of the starters. I'd like to see more of the gameplay and whether we're getting to go underwater or not.
  
• Danganronpa 2x2 - It was announced at a Nintendo Direct in September last year, and considering it hasn't appeared at any other showcase this summer then maybe it'll be showing up here.
  
• The Duskbloods - Notable for being a FromSoft game that'll be exclusive to Switch 2, and unless it gets delayed to 2027 I'd expect to see a release date reveal.
  
• Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave - Another game announced at the September 2025 Direct, and we've heard nothing of it since then.
  
• Splatoon Raiders - Releases in September, so it's definitely showing up to promote it some more.
  
• Ocarina of Time Remake - If Nintendo is doing a big announcement during this, I'm guessing it has to be this otherwise I haven't a clue what it could be. I'm hoping if this is real that it looks good because I've never fully played through OoT, although I can't remember how far into the game I actually got.

Okay, with my delusion out of the way, I definitely expect more on Winds/Waves, definitely another Star Fox trailer, maybe something new on the new Fire Emblem (which will look just as bad as the first trailer) and then maybe something for the LoZ anniversary. For Nintendo's sake, I hope it is an OoT Remake because so many people have convinced themselves that it's 100% happening that if it doesn't happen, they are going to blame Nintendo for them falling for rumors.

Of course we'll see a few trailers for games we already know about too, because gotta see a third or forth trailer for a game we've already seen all week just because "it's also coming to Switch 2 guys!!!"

Nintendo Direct Announced for September 9
A new Nintendo Direct will air on September 9 at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm GMT. The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes.

Additionally, there will also be a The Legend of Zelda: 40th Anniversary Direct on the day before.

As the kids would say now days, Nintendo has really cooked lately with their Directs. Hoping they can continue the streak and really show something amazing in this one, but I'm thinking this one is probably going to be more on the disappointing side, just because I can't even imagine what they could announce that would blow any one away.

I'm going to go real crazy with my desired prediction here: The reveal of a Skies of Arcadia Remaster/Remake (not Switch 2 exclusive). I've been waiting forever for this game to finally be set free from the abyss and brought to modern systems, so I would love for this to be the "blow you away" announcement at the Direct. This is about as copium-filled as a Bloodborne Remaster announcement, but it would be so awesome to see.

A bit of a let down from the recent previous Directs, but still a few nice things in here.

Eternal Anima looks like it'll be a nice addition to the JRPG collection. Was expecting it to be a Square Enix game with the graphics, was kind of surprised to see it's a Marvelous game.

Romancing SaGa 3 remake looking good. Always intended to get into the Romancing SaGa games, but I just keep collecting them without actually playing them lmao

New Kirby game looks awesome. After how much I enjoyed Kirby and the Forgotten Land, this will easily be a Day 1 purchase for me. Getting a Nintendo Switch 2 looks like it's going to be paying off in the next year, haha.

Metroid and Kirby were the only two things that felt like notable announcements/reveals for me. I would've cared for Pokopia except I already knew the second DLC was just cosmetic shit I don't give a rats arse about and the trailer showed nothing else notable coming with it.

Surprised Duskbloods didn't show up with a single thing after the recent network test, even if it was just a simple trailer.

True, it was pretty boring for most of it, but I will say at least Nintendo knows how to finish. That Kirby reveal was 10/10. If they continue to build off of what made Forgotten Land so good, this game is going to be big win.

Somehow Smash was the one game to not cross my mind when trying to figure out what the reveal was going to be in the opening moments of the trailer. At first I thought it was the next 3D Mario, but then the ring shaped formations started making me wonder if it was Sonic instead.

I would be laughing my ass off about Star Fox Adventures if I wasn't at work. Who was asking for Stairfax Temperatures (no, I will not get tired of that) to be added to the Nintendo Classics list. I mean, its a Nintendo property, so its easy to license, but goddamn, does it suck! And I actually like that game!
